But based on the argument's of today's liberals ... is even stage design an acceptable excuse to show that symbol? That's my point ... Even just 30 years ago wearing that jacket was still an act of rebellion against the beginnings of PC culture .. IMO

I didn't think much of it back then and always saw it as just a costume for Civil War.  If he wore it today he'd be lambasted for it.  PC culture ruins everything in it's path.

I still can’t believe Axl gives two shits about who is in office.

It's not just who is in office as he's obviously going after Trump.  He only attacks Republicans.  If he hit both sides with some criticism I'd be all for it but he went left and stayed there.  Looks more like a left wing agenda than just a concern for his country.  The left has plenty to criticize as does the right.

I don't get why anybody outside of a clinical setting would be wearing gloves. Surely a virus on a glove is just as virussy as a virus on your hands? Unless this has mutated to spread via skin contact that is. Also if you're wearing gloves wouldn't you be be less inclined to sanitise or wash your hands?

I think the gloves give people a false sense of security.  It's probably worse than not wearing them at all.  I constantly use hand sanitizer but I've never thought to use it on a pair of gloves.

Me? I have never "dismissed mouth masks all the time". I think face masks is a great thing for health care people who work with COVID-19 patients and for other people who might get in contact with sick people and where social distancing is difficult. It is proven beyond doubt that they work, which is why health care people have been using masks to protects themselves from infectious diseases since long before COVID-19. Do you want me to repeat the reasons why it can in some situations be stupid to wear face masks? Like when there is little to no probability of getting in contact with sick people? And when there is a limited supply of face masks which must be prioritized to health care people? Do you really want me to go over all this again? And explain to you why some countries initially advised against face masks but later, as availability and infection numbers increased, recommended or even made them mandatory? You know what, I think that would be a waste of time for both of us ;)

You know what I really don't understand?  Why are people driving in their cars alone with a mask and rubber gloves?  I see a dozen or so people every day doing this.  Who are they protecting themselves from exactly?

The fight against police brutality trumped public safety. We've done a pretty good job here in canada but I think the real test will be after labour day.

I've seen protests shown all over the world stemming from George Floyd's murder.  Has there been any protests in Canada or are people going about their business?

Experts said that based on their other expert advice being followed. Crowding beaches wasn’t one of their recommendations.

They didn't recommend mass protests either.

  7. Experts said it would decline in the summer months because of the heat and a second wave in the fall.  It's spiking now in the hottest states in the country.  Herd immunity is the only way I see this going away.

Well I’m kinda hoping he might inadvertently thin the MAGA herd a bit.

Hoping Trump supporters die?  That's some hardcore shit right there.  Don't worry, I'm sure the polls are all right and Biden will win by double digits.  Nobody needs to die.

My brother-in-law is an ER doctor in San Antonio TX. and he’s not seen any real issue with Coronavirus this whole time but we spoke to him earlier today and he said it’s just exploded over there in the past few days.

Like hardly any cases since the start of the pandemic but now they’re getting overwhelmed pretty much. If this is indicative of the situation in the other states you mentioned I think the worst is yet to come in the US.

The "peaceful protestors" are causing the spike.  But I'm sure you and the rest of the never Trumpers will start blaming his rallies soon enough.

  10. I'm finally going to dmv next week to renew my driver's licence.  They've been closed since March and finally reopening june 29th.  I wonder if I can take my mask off for the picture???

The point that I spoke to was claiming that people homeschool to avoid facts. Your meandering, oddly US specific and 100% unsourced post didn’t even manage to address that.

Black people and other racialized groups homeschool to protect themselves and/or their children from systemic racism for instance.

Systemic racism in schools?  You're serious?

Yeah. I think if Slash hadn't returned I would have seen Axl retire soon. He didn't strike me as one wanting to tour until old age. But with Slash around things have changed, I can see them going on for a long time, with it being over the minute Slash leaves. At this point there is no point continuing GNR without Slash.

Seriously, could we stop pretending like Slash is the only guy who ever got a divorce? As if that fucking divorce will force him to work until he drops dead???

Did you see how much he has to pay?  He'll be working until that pacemaker stops.

Imagine if this went on for a few years and people started homeschooling their kids. A lot of these parents aren't as educated or 'street-smart' as they believe themselves to be.

    We'd be doomed

There's a huge problem with this becoming the "new normal".  A lot of families are set up with both parents working to pay the bills each month.  Taking kids out of school prevents many women (and in some cases men) from returning to work.  It will force many parents to quit their jobs to be there so the kids can distance learn from home.  It's such a complicated situation for so many families.

Sorry but don't you think we should all know this stuff for our safety.

You know Trump lies or maybe he believes his own lies? Not sure. I try not to listen to him because I think he makes up stuff most of the time. I know Dr. Fauci isn't with him much anymore.

These are crazy times we live in. I just hope we all get through them okay.

    Stay well.

This will all go away in November.  Be patient.

  15. I won't quote anyone directly but a few posts sound great in regards to putting together a great package.  For me to drop a lot on a super deluxe type package it needs it all.  Original two albums remastered, alternate mixes mentioned above, unreleased songs, TSI remastered with the missing tracks that didn't make the cut.  As for dvds it would need at least one never before seen full show, making videos 1-3, remastered music videos from illusions, and most of all the Perfect Crime Documentary.  Live era on vinyl if there's any vinyl in the package.  No bullshit trinkets at all!  Just music and videos.  This is my favorite era of the band so I really hope they learn from their mistakes and hit it out of the park this time.  Under $400 and I'm in.

Since you brought up GITR, I wonder if they would keep that song on there or remove it. It would be cool if they recorded a new version updated for today.

It would be all about politicians today.  The media has sucked Axl's nuts through the whole NITL tour.  I could see them just removing the rant and leaving it alone.  I hope it stays on whatever they release though.  Lies ain't the same without OIAM.

Lmao Dizzy. Dude can’t even tell the truth about anything Guns related in any interview he’s ever given. He’s the definition of a yes man. Don’t hold your breath on that one

If he out lives Axl he'll be free to tell his story.  I didn't want to say it but that's what I was getting at.

Actually the issue of systemic racism isn’t really typified by collection of income tax. Nor does the payment of said taxes indicate an understanding of anything much, including systemic racism.

Thank you.  I feel very enlightened now.
