  1. I'm having the last 3 of my wisdom teeth taken out on Thursday and i'm freaking out a bit. :nervous:

It's not even the extractions that are freaking me out. It's the anesthesia. Something about being knocked out in a room with a bunch of strangers just seems wrong.

I understand. That’s why I said why speculate? If you don’t know the reasons, leave people be. They don’t need to be discussed or understood from “your” point of view. Live and let live. Y’know. My situation in life would not allow me that be a superfan, but I don’t view their behaviour through the narrow lense of my existence....

People can do what they want. It’s their life. I don’t introduce someone else’s situation to my mind and try to understand it through my experience... it’s their fucking life. So leave them be... Everyone should walk in their own shoes and leave others do the same.

No, he's remodeling the house at the same location. I find that a shame because it was gorgeous Tudor-style home.

Didnt Susan say they bought a new house in Seattle and are remodeling the old one to sell?

Your delusional shit is getting sooo tiring.

Richard Fortus was playing that awful shit for his family and 20 other people, now he was hired to play Izzy Stradlin songs at full stadiums. You can cry or make up all the shit you want but the truth is, there are millions of people who love Izzy's songs (YCBM, Patience, Don't Cry and many more) and there's one person (who's sanity is at least questionable) who gives a shit about Pale Divine. Blame it on the world for being unfair or whatever you want but Izzy fn' Stradlin doesn't have to play for N'Sync or Rihanna to make a living because he wrote some of the most timeless Rn'R songs of all time.

Come back to the WT, we miss you.:bitchfight:

It's more the timing of these clues, for me anyway.  Duff choosing to be in LA now rather than go live in one of his other homes elsewhere.  Everyone in the band choosing to be in LA now, rather than go off on holiday to some far flung location. LOL   Richard showing his tracking guitar and amp now.  Various cryptic comments now.

The WP gig is no small thing.  Duff and Jeff go back a long way, they're good friends.  The album was a collaborative effort this time (unlike the first one where Duff just turned up as a favour and played what Jeff had written) so there'd be some sense of loyalty to Jeff and ownership over the album.  I can't imagine Duff would ditch those guys unless something else more important had come up.  Also, it's uncharacteristic of Duff to not tour  in the downtime especially when he actually has a couple of things to tour - his track record for this kind of thing goes back a long way (regardless of money).   So for me, his missing the gig and other gigs (Jeff hinted he wouldn't be a part of this tour at all), plus lack of promo of it, means something is definitely up with Duff!

Kat seems to always be wherever Guns are...I don't know what she has to do with GNR music but maybe Axl wants her recording stuff?  I don't know about her so much but Melissa moving to LA now?  All a bit toooo co-incidental for me.

Axl is capable of surprising us, I know that much! They all are.  My thinking is if it's an album: songs are already finished and the downtime is for mixing.  I wondered around September if they'd demo'd songs in the Spring.  Slash is said to have done some work before the tour on Axl songs.  If it's not an album and say, an EP or a handful of tunes, those can easily be done in the downtime.

This all seems like a confirmation bias to me. You're seeing what you want to see.

As I already explained in my first post, Duff isn't choosing to live in LA. He's always lived there. Mae goes to high school in LA. Grace's band is based in LA. Him being in LA does not equal new music or hint at him recording with GNR. Yes, he could choose to travel or whatever but with Mae being in the middle of a school year he's not going to go anywhere.

WP wasn't a small gig pre-NITL, but do you think after making as much as he did with GNR he's really going to go back to WP? Even in his WP Instagram post he announced the album very nonchalantly. Like, no big deal... here's this album I made while I was on the last WP tour... this will be the extent of my promotion for it; a single Instagram post. Before meeting up with Axl again, WP was the band he tried to break to keep his career going. VR was dead in the water and he needed a project and now that it's no longer needed, he's moved on. Harsh, but it's the way Duff has always worked. Always moving on to what he thinks is the most lucrative project. Regardless if he leaves friends behind. :shrugs:

Melissa moving to LA can be for the same reasons as Kat. LA is where the work is. It makes sense for them both to be there. It doesn't mean they are working on new music for GNR. Melissa also just signed on for Cyberpunk 2077. I doubt she would have time to write + record a full soundtrack if she was also recording for guns.

Sure, Axl is capable of surprising us but I highly HIGHLY doubt his recording process has changed. If it had, why didn't he release CD2 in the last 10 years? Or any other work for that matter? A soundtrack score like he talked about in the China Exchange interview or a random single?  Recording has and always will be Axl's Achilles heel.

    ----

I wonder if Slash and Axl's relationship is even strong enough to start recording. Both men are used to being the boss for the past 20+ years and I can't imagine either of them taking criticism well from each other. Recording could bring up some old issues between them and cause more problems. That'd be a risky thing to do right before the next leg of a tour.

    ---

Edit: Just to be clear because I feel like a debbie downer writing these posts; I want new music just as much as you guys do. But I've been disappointed too many times over the years to get my hopes up anymore. And for right now I just don't see any signs pointing towards new music. :shrugs:

What you say about calling quits after 2018 is pretty shocking and hard to digest . Their time is running but retiring before 60, don't know...... I guess the weakest link here is Axl because his voice is his instrument.

Slash will not retire until he's dropped dead onstage  and Duff, I don't know..... maybe when he get grandchildren he will slow down

For what it's worth, I really hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see them keep going. I'm just not sure if Axl's voice will allow them to.

And I 100% agree about Slash. I can picture him being like Chuck Berry. Touring in his 90s.

I love your reasoning because it is pretty logical and accurate in all of your points.

I'm not getting excited either because I'm an old old wolf at this point and a GN'R has been a chimera for a long time now.... even when Axl came out to say he had material ready to go and blah blah, he was lying all the time.... or at least lying about releasing it :shrugs:

Now, there's something that it is real as well..... they cannot keep touring the same 30 years old songs for much longer and my BIG question is... what's gonna happen in the second half of 2018?

Are they going to finally take a rest or continue robbing people with the same show and setlist for another 6 months?

The other thing that's also different from decades ago is their aging and Axl's voice getting extinguished every day/every year more.

If they want to continue touring they have to do something about this.

Do you think Axl can actually repair his voice at this point? I know vocal exercises + adequate rest could help, but eventually I don't think it'll make that much of a difference. And I know there are surgeries out there but that would be incredibly risky.

I personally think they'll tour throughout 2018 (probably Australia & Asia one more time), solidify their position as the most successful tour in history and then retire or move on to side projects. They might possibly try to follow in The Who's footsteps and become a nostalgia act, but as you said I don't think Axl's voice can hold up for much longer so it'd make sense for them to quit while they're on top.

I don't think Matt was playing the drums or Duff played either. Just Slash. They were all there at the same time, don't know if they talked to each other or not.

You can see Matt playing in the video though. Unless he has a doppelganger out there.

So peeps, did I get this right? Did one of the hosts said in the interview, that Beta said Izzy was married? They talk all on the same time and I cannot understand...?

They said Arlett Vereecke said Izzy is married. They said it in such weird way though. Like it was some kind of scandal or big secret. So maybe they're unsure?

Either way. I'm happy for him if he is. :shrugs:
