Yup, and they're terrible at it. They've also had ample time to do this too imo. It's why I can't really class them as a band. Until new music is released, they aren't a band and if they continue doing NITL with the same tired setlists, they are an irrelevant nostalgia band (in my eyes).

Always hold hope that new music will happen, but it appears increasingly unlikely.

    Yup, this is fair.

The cornrows were his last decent look imho. 2006 Axl was one stylish bastard for the most part.

Cornrows on white folk are generally a bad idea. But on a ginger... terrible idea. Fashion wise though, aye you're likely right. It was downhill fast after that. The porn star look was pretty bad. Then came yellow rain jackets, fedoras, excess bling, bad haircuts, skinny jeans, pixie boots, and the return of the checked shirt.

They rehearsed Oh My God for Rock In Rio 2011. But didn't make on the setlist 2011 - 2014. For me a killer track and one of the best songs Post-UYI

I love OMG as well man! The intro bass riff is cool as fuck and the chorus is heavy as fuck! Always been a fan and would've loved for CD to have been more like it. Alas we got Scraped instead!

Did they really? I've heard this before but no-one seems to know anything about it.....

What what what! Slash and Duff jammed OMG?!

Nothing is 100% scratch vocals.  He just singing the melody to get it recorded, then will finish with real lyrics later.  It couldn't be more obvious based on the repeated lyrics and the mumbled section.

While the music portion isn't great and wouldn't be happy with that as the final version, it does remind me a bit of Zeppelin (D'yer Mak'er), which I like.

State Of Grace with polished vocals, and a Buckethead or Robin guitar solo would be amazing. Axl's singing at the end is TWAT ending like good.

Would be great to hear Gary Sunshine's take on it. Or even an isolated Paul Tobias rhythm track with Chris Pitman on shakers. I mean, can you imagine the public reaction if that shit leaked!

I'm sort of on the same boat. I like dropping that the greatest songwriting rhythm guitarist to ever grace Guns N' Roses is a geezer that jumped between two surnames and played some of the most beautiful guitar ever recorded on a cover of a Rolling Stones song....

Aye, I thought Jeffrey Isbell's rhythm tracks on Jumpin' Jack Flash were pretty cool too!

I just call the AFD lineup the "original lineup" in casual convsersation because everyone knows what we mean when we say that.  And I remember a couple of now-banned past members here always got GNR-triggered when someone called a non-Tracii Guns lineup the "original" lineup so I still do it in hopes I can piss off people that uptight about these semantics

YAAAAAAASS! Love it! Also, love knowing that these kinda folk exist!

Yep, a box set comprising all eras is the only way we could ever hear the original recordings with Bucket/Finck etc. Thinking that Axl would leave this stuff on the new record is bordering on ludicrous, whether because of royalties or the fact that people haven't waited for Slash for over 2 decades just to receive an album with some guys from Axl's solo era, as many view it undoubtedly; that would make no sense.

Bang on pal! 100% agree with that rational view. As an aside, I'm never entirely sure if people advocating some of the more whacky views on here are just at the wind up or not!

Haha, that line remains a mystery to me too  I totally get that the songs don't do it for you, that's completely fine. But it seems it's because of your taste and not because you're biased, since you checked out the leaks too.

Oh yeah I'm a nosey bastard! I will at least entertain the prospect that something decent was going down during the Chinese Democracy era. And to be honest, I likely went in on a positive note as I really liked Oh My God. I wanted to hear more stuff in that vein. But got served up Scraped, This I Love and Catcher In The Rye! I did really like State Of Grace from the leaks though. Decent track that one.

Not liking CD is understandable, matter of taste.

But categorically hating it because Slash and Duff weren't on it, that's simply ridiculous and downright childish. There are people who are so bitter about the NuGuns-Era that they can't even admit that a solo like in TIL or Sorry is a masterpiece, just because it wasn't written and played by the infallible and holy Slash (and we've heard and seen what happens if the "God" himself takes on these songs, give me a fucking break)

Even after all these years, people still are so incredibly butthurt because of CD and it's hilarious and fascinating at once.

I can only speak for myself, but I find the final version of CD a complete sonic mess. There are some decent moments on there for sure, but all in, the songs are just not there for me. That said, I was interested enough to give the leaks a chance whereas some of my pals just listened to the first 30 seconds and turned off! So at least I have tried! All that said, I will say I really like Sorry... but even then... what the fuck is that "I don't want to dooooo it" line all about.

If they release anything, it wouldn't surprise me if the credits were intentionally vague. Like instead of saying 'Guitar solo - Slash, Rhythm guitar - Richard' it will just say 'all songs written and performed by Guns N' Roses'.

Slash will handle almost all the leads of course, but the rhythm guitars or maybe the odd lick here or there could be a patchwork of Richard, Slash, Paul, Axl, Robin, Bucket or whoever else, especially if they're CD era songs that have been 'done' for 15 years. Nothing about this band is logical...

WTF! My God, do you realise how bloody difficult it is to mix and EQ that scenario? Like it is just easier to re-record one guitar player playing the parts. I am going to assume you are on the wind up here as that is just bizarre what ya said there!

State of Grace is my fav of the leaks would be gutted if we never hear a final version ... But this is GNR

Aye, I agree, it's definitely my fave too. Really like that track to be honest. Most of the other songs/ideas are fairly underwhelming to me. Though I think we are now legally obliged to say that Atlas Shrugged is possibly the greatest piece of music never released!

There's not much future, probably just more gigs year in, year out, if they put out new music, that'll be a shock

At this point... Pretty much, aye! No expectations. Even though Metallica are not the fastest moving band in the world, you know they will record another album or two before they call it. With GNR, that doesn't exist. And they will likely call it before Metallica anyway. Gooooooood times!
