  1. All this talk of double albums is just mental! First point is they are rarely worth it, though there are of exceptions to the rule. Secondly GNR don't appear to release new music. Yet we've got folk talking about releasing a double album in an age where people don't buy CDs. So if, possibly rightly, GNR don't see today's streaming market as being all that profitable to release a single song, then it seems unlikely that a double album will be making its way to our ears any time soon!

And that’s what makes his place fun to debate this stuff - I thought Perhaps, Atlas and Hardschool were awesome 😂. Zodiac 13 with vocals.....THATS the holy grail for me.

And agreed - Better really should have been a monster hit. Such a good song and one that would easily take its place in a career spanning ‘Best Of’.

Fair play to ya. I went and listened back to those leaked tracks earlier and came to the same conclusion... not my bag, doesn't excited me, not that interesting musically, and certainly not worth waiting for.

As an aside, whilst on topic of Better, I remember hearing the 2006 version of IRS and absolutely fecking loving it! The final album version didn't hit me the same though. Actually disappointed me. I still have that demo somewhere though and it rocks!

Oh dear. What evidence? If evidence tells us anything, then that it will take a lot of time, but it might eventually come out. Even Axl said he didnt record all this shit just to keep it buried. So maybe think harder next time before posting.

1 album since 1994! 1 whole album of original material in nearly 30 years. There is your evidence. To put that into context, Deep Purple have released 7 studios albums in that time, AC/DC 5, The Stones 4, Metallica 6... and Slash himself has released 8. So the evidence is pretty conclusive really.

I know this has been talked about before (what hasn't in this thread), but I'd much, much rather have another massive leak happen like with the village sessions except it contain all or most of the CD-era from 2010 and before. :)

Why? I appreciate it is subjective, but the few tracks I heard from the last leaks (Perhaps, State of Grace, Atlas Shrugged, and Hard School, I think) were all bland as hell. Did not remotely interest me. Prior to that I always hoped some of the material would see the light of day and that it would be decent. I remember hearing the 2006 leaks and being very excited. Only to hear the final album, be presented with Scraped and This I Love... and feel pretty deflated! I still maintain Better is a belter though!

  5. C'mon boys and girls, forget all this nonsense about a new GNR album... there's more chance of a Led Zeppelin reunion at this stage! Besides, it's much much much more rewarding, fun, and interesting to talk about the different EQ and level mixes from the leaked CD sessions and speculate about how successful these tracks would've been had they been released in 2001! And let's not forget about the legendary 2002 VMA rehearsal tape either! I for one am salivating at the prospect of one day seeing that! That's literally all there is. Sad times! Most dangerous band in the world? Possibly more the most disappointing band in the world.

There are so many people that call out Guns as one of the most over rated bands.

It is difficult to argue otherwise! One album in 25 years is shocking return compared to other touring bands out there. Quality over quantity, true. But realistically GNR's whole reputation is based on AFD and to a significantly lesser extent the Illusions (though personally I'd listen to the latter more often but that's just me). With GNR it will always be a case of what could've been. The reunion came too late to be all that relevant, long term at least. The NITL videos have on the whole been crap.

  7. Hey guys, rarely post here but infrequently read posts. I agree with a lot of the frustrations so thought I'd chuck in my twopence worth! I think GNR is a little bit irrelevant these days. The reunion had high hopes, and I even saw them in NYC,  flying over from Glasgow, which was awesome. But listening to the recent NITL video clips, they are not very good at all. There's no getting away from the fact that Axl has let himself go something hellish the past few years and Slash just seems keen to solo his way through a show. The lack of new material is astonishing, and 15 years minimum between albums is mental. Would love to hear some new kick ass GNR, but I am now resigned to the fact this is no more than a nostalgia show band doing the rounds, rather than a serious outfit. I would still listen if something new did come out, but I can't see it happening. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Dean delray comes across as douche. Losses track of the conversation, talks about mindless things, plenty of other stuff to talk about in terms of illusions type material hopefully one day seeing the light and he wastes so much time talking about what shirt he wants to wear on a given day. His speech is almost on par with ozzy.

I also call bullshit on him not reading social media stuff about the izzy loot drama. If he has twitter im sure he would have looked at peoples comments. For someone who got fit and went to college, hes a bullshit artist. Hes the sort of prick if you worked in the corporate world he would be very two faced and be careful what you tell him. He would have a very good sense how much this tour is financially making.

    Wow.

  9. One con I would also point, as a fellow like minded reveller above did, was that the length of the show was just too long. Yes, we know Slash likes to solo but oh my word does it get tedious when it happens after every other song! Does anybody else find the Godfather theme completely and utterly pointless?! I would also question why The Seeker remains in the set. It's not even a particularly good Who song!

  10. Flew over from Glasgow, Scotland to see GNR in Madison Square Garden on 10 October 2017. That in itself would be a pretty cool story! But the fact that the venue was awesome, the gig was awesome and the people I met on the night were also awesome just added to the experience. Loved it. The one thing people forget about the static set lists is that you can strategically plan your piss breaks with relatively pin point accuracy! So whilst the Lord may taketh, he also giveth! For that alone, I was very glad to hear the opening chimes of This I Love!

Melissa is a very wise move on Axl's part to keep the band more related somehow with a younger audience rather than just +40's oldfuck fans like myself. And yes she's indeed easy to look at.

Hmmm... this is a bit far fetched! I don't think anybody will be thinking to themselves: "Gee, that Guns N' Roses band are pretty hip these days... now they've got a second female keyboardist!".

  12. I was just watching the Live in Paris '92 show last night and wondered to myself - what the hell does Dizzy do on songs like It's So Easy, Attitude, Double Talkin' Jive, Paradise City etc? Just seems like the total definition of an additional musician, yet seemingly had 'full' status? I get that he contributed a lot more to Chinese Democracy, but live the band still played way more AFD tracks than any other album, and none of those had keyboards on it.

  13. For me Scraped and Riad are the two massive clunkers on ChiDem. The former is a complete mess all over, from the awful auto tuned intro to the horrendous backing vocals that run throughout. I fail to see how these 'embelishments' could've been seen as helping to improve the song. I will however give that the solo is quite cool. Never liked Riad from the first time I heard it on a bootleg in 2001. When I saw it had made the final album, I was disappointed! From the Slash/Duff years part 1, I always thought Shotgun Blues was pretty woeful. Also just going to put it right out there and say I think November Rain is crap! Not my thing at all, however the outro is insanely good. Get that some people love the song, but it's not for me.

Every band has crap tracks in the locker. GNR is no different. Plenty of good stuff in there though!

  14. Quite like this album actually! True, it isn't a GNR album, but that's by the by! When it's good, it's fantastic.

In my humble opinion, the first 7 tracks I listed above are the most listenable to my ears. The last 3 on the list are skips for me. Everything else in between I can take or leave. The outro to Prostitute is amazing though!
