I'm going to scream this until the day I die: I firmly believe the song is 100% about Slash and that is why we will never hear the NITL lineup do it.
Also, y'alls crazy. This 2001 version of The Blues is the best ever IMOStill reckon russ its an erin/stephanie song. What makes you think its about slash?. Not having a go just want to undrrsrand your reasoning 😀

I consider myself a big ChiDem fan but I wouldn't even watch those rehearsals all the way through except if they were on YouTube and I needed something to watch on my phone while taking a particularly long shit.
HOB 2001 at least has the significance of being the first nuGNR show, live debuts of OMG, Silkworms, ChiDem, The Blues, and Riad. Once that leaks out to the general fanbase, I doubt there will be anything GNR-related to leak for a long while. The only other thing we know for sure is out there that's worthwhile is Jackie Chan and I think whoever got that was scared into not releasing it. No one has Atlas, no one has The General, no one even pretends to have Seven, Thyme, or Berlin.
With the Appetite boxset, we know the focus for the next few years will be milking the 1985-1993 era for all it's worth. Nobody will be surprised if they release a UYI boxset in a few years; would be a good opportunity to release the Perfect Crime UYI documentary that was shelved all those years ago.
Maybe in 2028 they'll do a limited release of a ChiDem boxset to wring the last pennies out of a niche fanbase and justify one last tour
I don't blame the band for operating like this, the muted reception to ChiDem and the massive success of the NITL tour totally justifies their actions from both a commercial and artistic point of view. I only wish they'd gotten together to write a new single for the Appetite boxset instead of dusting off Shadow of Your Love, but I think Axl and Slash feel like they'll get on better if they don't ever have to argue about artistic direction ever again. Slash gets to do his solo tours and release new songs with SMKC, Axl gets to tweak the mix on Atlas Shrugged in his home studio for the 1,097th time, then they get together and go out and play a show for a million bucks.

Like this response.
In terms of the last paragraph, my opinion - I believe in terms of new songs I think something new will come and not just a reworked song. Im sure both axl and slash are mindful that they want to do something new and mindful about not stepping on each others toes. Both of them care about the GNR brand but im sure both of them wont be pulling stupid power moves likes its 1991 all over again. Its a wait and see.

My one friend texted me today saying how much he liked the "new" GNR song. He is in his late 30s/early 40s and saw the GNR reunion once at the Ford Field show. He is exactly the demographic that the band targets. He had no idea SOYL was all recorded in 1986, to him it was 100% new
Im hoping axl doesnt have a light bulb moment and release something off CD as the next single.

There’s so many new bands releasing covers of classic rock songs right now they it’s just really sad. New rock bands can’t even write their own songs, for the most part.
Or trying too copy the bands from the 70s ala greta von fleet. Robert plant toured oz last month and even when he was being interviewed plant mentioned the lead singer sounds like robert during zep era.

Pretty much. I don't hold it against Duff - he's a good businessman. That said, his branding around "punk" makes it unintentionally funny and cringe inducing. He's about as punk as Dave Grohl these days.
Yep it makes grohl a complete douch for the was nirvana made fun of GNR in the early 90"s. Guns may have been dinosaur rock to them but foo fighters are classified as "dad rock" nowdays.

Could be a scheduling conflict or something but it’s always a possibility they’ll fly from South Africa straight across to Perth then do the rest of Australia followed by NZ? Who knows... I’m just speculating lol

I would have thought they'd be early November since they're moving East to West across Asia that month? Would make sense to Start in ANZ before going to Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, etc.
I reckon if this tour finishes at the end of the year they will tour oz in December or they have a break in december and tour oz jan 2019. Either way we should find out in November which way the wind will blow for an oz tour. I have no idea how slash will tour the SKMC record around guns touring.

I hope things are sorted for Donington or the crowd could get restless
The donington crowd will not be as accepting!

One thing that stands out is that guns seem to be a night time playing band. Seems to me they kind of look like playing during daylight is an energy sapping experience. Playing at night has a different vibe and they probably get inspired more during the night time. Also certain sections of the crowd look bored.

Where do you guys rank slither in times of all time great songs? If that is your opinion of course. Yes Berlin happened, rough start but slither being played is cool. Eager to hear your takes, personally hold it up there among the best hard rock tracks.
Good song but not great song. I doubt they will be still playing it on the radio in 10 years time.

Born a Rocker? Punk as Fuck? I feel so embarrassed, he's become a parody of himself...
Maybe the real Duff actually died in the 90's and got replaced like it happened with Paul McCartney (?)
He got older and developed a passion for beating girls
Agree with the duff part. The man cares about the dosh certainly wouldn't have been making a case to have Izzy back for a couple of shows. The man whores his family on instgram and pulled to have his daughters band be the support act for guns and play at certain festivals. Ive heard the band on youtube and is not real music to me.

Potentially. Though the break may have improved his capacity. I think he could pull it off with his AC/DC vocals.
If coma is in the setlist they need to do SOYL before coma otherwise axl will pass out or self combust from lack of oxygen.

Im not a fan of the box set price but there are multiple tiers that fans can choose from. Also, I would suspect many of the box sets will actually sell. Think of all the rich folks who purchase the first 2 rows, and other packages. The market is there.
I thought the ISE video was great. Axl is the mastermind and the main reason why GNR was the most dangerous band in the world.
In terms of fernando getting axl and slash together fernando didn't instigate anything. Axl "told" fernando to get slashs number , do you think Fernando was going to say no to his boss?. I have zero respect for fernando when hes said alot of shit in the press about slash when the feud between axl and slash had nothing to do with him. It would appropriate for him to remain neutral and shut his mouth.

That Guns N' Roses lack certain key ''Guns N' Roses'' personnel I am sure poses no barriers to their purchasing of tickets. Crowds seem less discerning now - if I am going to be unkind ''dumber''. The ''having a good time'' is analogous to a sugar rush instigated by an American food product. These are not the people who see music in loftier terms but seem happy to be spoon fed slabs of regurgitated nostalgia at exorbitant prices. In actual fact the carnal presence of certified knowables (e.g. ''Axl and Slash'') is not always required hence the proliferation of hologram/tribute acts! But then what you are seeing is neither music to bring governments down nor an exclusive gateway into that band's current state of creativity. These are thirty year songs!
Guns N' Roses have the audiences they deserve really.
You see this in films as well with Disney's franchises, the same formula recycled. Sporting events also! You see sporting events flooded these days with dimly aware inebriates. You also see sporting administrators pandering to these inebriates.
In terms of holograms if brian may could work out how to do hologram of freddie we would have a queen reunion in an instant.

If it includes at least some of this, I'd pay $200 for it:
- Perfect Crime documentary
- Pantages Theatre 1991 pro-shot (would be great quality as they used footage from that show in the Brownstone and My Michelle videos, they played Bad Apples, and You Ain't The First and Don't Cry with Shannon Hoon)
- MSG 1991 (3rd night, they played Locomotive and Breakdown, though Axl was in a bad mood at this show)
- the unreleased footage from Tokyo 1992 (includes Coma and Locomotive)
- Axl's Advance Copy, Q Sound Mixes and other demos (properly mastered)
- Unheard TSI? demos
- Early Snakepit demos and/or the '95-96 demos
- Remastered UYI's on CD and vinyl, maybe re-press some 12" singles like Don't Cry, You Could Be Mine or Live And Let Die.I agree on this and i would pay close to agrand if it also came with the onstage and backstage video footage uncut of their tour that t hey recorded over the 2 years that slashs mentions in his autobiography.

How would you feel if Axl were to replace This I Love with Street of Dreams in the setlist?

Well street of dreams is a ballad like november rain. So why have 2 ballads in the setlist?. Til should be taken out and insert a song that isnt vocally strenuous such as bad obsession or PTU. If anything slash needs to stop godfather its boring and a mood killer.
