Aw c'mon, lets give the guy a chance..he has some pretty big shoes to fill, I don't think any of us would really be happy with whomever he chose!

And I'm quite sure those things were said to generate publicity, get people talking, and check them out.

Besides that, Steven is probably ecstatic that he said those things, that his frontman is showing him 100% support.

    I'm rooting for Constantine

If whoever steven gets cant do the songs justice then he shouldn't go anywhere near it. I understand Steven was 1/4 of the band that made one of the greatest rock albums of all time but he should either,

    a) play originals with a few covers of other bands that has made an impact on him - or

    b) do what matt does and be a drummer for hire.

I remember a white long sleeve shirt Axl wear when came out of hotel with LANA DEL REY in 2012

To my eyes I dont think its a long sleeve shirt it looks like a dinner/suit jacket. Similar to the one axl wears in the band photo in the UYI cd but white.

    Cool!

I think this signals that things will be moving along in the coming years.

I hope this now gives axl the emotional freedom to look back on the bands   past and realise that they really made great music despite the who said what with old members.  So hoping they release that illusions video footage. With axl releasing all the old stuff i wonder if gene simmons has been in axls ear.

The remastering directly from the analogue source and likely Clinks involvement are good signs that it's not gonna be some lame remaster.

As for new music, it would be great, but a brand new song from 2016 doesn't have a place in a release like this. Only in a greatest hits/best of one.

I thought clink was for whatever reason was on axls shitlist?.

I'm going to hold out on checking Amazon until I see actual price on this one.

It would be great if it wasn't 650.

Does anyone think new songs will be on here? I mean it's hard to tell what they mean by unreleased.

Very excited and will be getting this.

Axl's picture collection will be great to see and the actual box looks great too. This is very well put together from what I can tell.

Isn't there another version of Don't Cry Axl wrote?

I cant remember if this was mentioned by killuridols, but i can understand axl wanting to hold off with releasing reckless road....which means during the cd lineup axl was onboard or had ideals of releasing something like this later down the track. So much for not being defined by one album. Not bitching but ill be buying this.

I was just replying to the guy who says that they are working on a photography project to accompany the box set and I can't think of better photos of that era than Canter's, that's why I think it's a pity the book wouldnt have been released now with all the hype and support from the band, instead of 2008, when a whole different lineup was contradicting history.

And yeah, I think in this case Axl was right. Not that Im 100% sure he would have approved the project today but there woulda been high chances of picking Canter's photos over anyone else.

I wonder if Robert John maybe approached for photos of that time period. I believe he was an official photographer during the appetite tour, not sure what the relationship is like with him nowdays.

Radio streaming isn't really a thing in the UK. Our radio is much different over here.

There could have been a rights issue or legal battle why whatever is planned wasn't done last year for the 30th.

My guess, a remastered appetite, original artwork and maybe they stream a live show or release a show to help promo it.

Interesting they are doing it this year.....should have been done last year as a 30th anniversary. I suppose theres real time and "gnr time"

Also, a few years ago Foo Fighters teased something big, promoted foofighters.tv showing this image

     http://portalternativo.com/2013/12/foo-fighters-anuncian-novedades-pronto [\IMG]

It turned out that is was a live streamed foo fighters performance from a small town in england.

If it was for possibly another UK show would would they promote with the afd5 skulls?. Im sure they would use the duff slash and axl skulls like from the LA lithograph. If it was for an appetite remaster they should have done that for the 30th anniversary last year. So i reckon its a radio streaming.

Wearing a shirt designed for a man who indeed ''enjoys life'' I see?

The man made more money touring with guns than what most of us will ever earn in a lifetime. Doesn't publically whinge like Steven and offers his services as a drummer with other bands (like steven should) and goes his own way in life. Thanks Matt for drumming on my favourite Guns albums and I hope you will be part of this tour lineup at some stage in the future.  He's earned his place to wear whatever he wants....also keep the autobiography juicy!!!

I've always wondered why Axl leaves the stage so frequently. In '91 the Dallas show he left often and Izzy would sing but that was a trying time as it was the 1st show after St Louis. I had always assumed that it was usually to get water or to take a break since he was always sprinting from side to side and never missing a note on vocals.

    Either for

    A) costume change

    B) to consult with his psychic if he should ask the crowd to generate  positive vibes in order to bring karmic balance.

    C) wanting to haver a mental breakdown because his head was somewhere else

    D) getting on a golf cart to go back to his hotel room.

  11. If slash is expecting to tour to 2020, id like to know when the NITL tour is going to be finishing. It cant keep going to the end of the year if slash is to start touring majorly from say September onwards...logistically it cant work. Unless Guns tour and SKMC will be support.....will be interesting to gauage Axls thoughts on SKMC's new songs.

I hope for the european fans they change the setlist abit.

Mutt Lange was considered before being deemed too expensive... I would love to have an alternate universe copy of that just for the fun of it. I imagine the Clink version is probably the one I'd prefer but I mean... GNR with hand claps, stomps... maybe some cannons.

Welcome to thaaa jungaaaaaheellll.... *explosion*... got fun an' games... HEEEY!!!

"Welcome to thaaa jungaaaaaheellll.... *explosion*... got fun an' games... HEEEY!!!"

That really makes me laugh!> Then again Mutt did produce ac/dc's highway to hell album, so they could add in the cannons. Bon Scott never called Mutt by his name, Bon called him the C word all the time. Also im glad he didnt produce guns, he pussified def leppard with Hysteria. So guns keeping Clink they made the right decision.

Just seeing Brent there warms my heart. Such a wonderful guy and brilliant drummer! Can't wait to see Slash playing with him, Todd and (the good) Frank again!

And I love Myles! Can't believe he's giving me TWO albums this year.

So looking forward to hearing the new stuff and seeing these guys live again. This just feels so "right" to me, I'm over excited!

I hope slash tours a fair bit for this release and hopefully an OZ tour.

The first show date will surely be after the album has come out, so that would put it at early September probably, just like WoF. Also I wouldn't be so sure about Slash keeping any GNR songs, except maybe SCOM or PC. He now has GNR to do those and SMKC is on their 3rd album and he got all these other projects to pick from like VR, Snakepit, solo album. Wouldn't surprise me to see a big amount of new songs in the set aswell. Now he has a reason to make space for all this material.

So wondering if we will see slash in Oz in Feb 2019?.😞. I still feel in my loins a GNR oz tour toward the end of the year.

Yeah, through management which was also Zakk's management (Dougie).

But it also (and mostly) fell apart because Slash didn't want Zakk. He liked him as a guitarist, but didn't want him in the band (the two leads thing).

It would have been a judas priest type thing which was never slashs deal.

It would be great if Zakk had joined them, Zakk is extremelly prolific and versatile, one of the best modern rock writters out there.

At the time he was into some amazing southern heavy blues trip that a year before was released as Pride&Glory, one of the best post 80's rock albums ever released as well as the amazing job HE did with Ozzy's No More Tears, which is also my fav Ozzy album and is like 90% a Zakk Wylde baby.
As for these sessions, I believe they did create some demos as Duff says on his book, there was a piano song written by Zakk, and Zakk himself said most of the first Black Label Society ideas came from the GNR sessions.

Its cool to note that Zakk and Slash had similar playing and writting styles at the time and what you hear on BLS album is probably an "evolution" of what he did while jamming those ideias with GNR, not the exact thing as he adds heavy distortion and fuzz effects to the riffs and I dont really think they'd use that kind of effects with GNR. Talkin about riffs, there are some AMAZING hard rock riffs at that album that I think worked by the GNR guys could've made an amazing GNR record.

Plus Zakk is a piano guy, he loves it and I think he would be a great help on Axl songs, elevating them.

    Zakk is great.

I always hate the pinch harmonics he does. Its ok here and there but he does it on every song.
