Wasn’t the phrase on early flyers promoting their club shows? I seem to remember the phrase on the flyers that make up the artwork for Live Era.

Yeah, did she quit? Why are we talking about this?

I never understood why Ron was in this band. He didn’t want to be there and many of the other members didn’t want him there either.

I agree. Imagine if Buckethead returned. Even for one tour...
Buckethead is a great guitar player but I would argue he was part of the reason nuGNR never got over with a mass audience. It’s a doofy, gimmicky persona that made the whole thing feel like a joke.

I don’t love So Fine but I know people who do. It has an audience.

Full time? Never, they don’t have the chops to pull that off at this point

What stuck out to me is Slash's claim to know EXACTLY what the CD songs mean, because of how tight (obviously) his relationship with Axl has been. That's a bold statement to make imho.
I'd be interested what his interpretation of SOD is exactly. @RussTCB
Slash knows most of the CD songs are about him!

To be fair, Bumble had a hard time with other band members aswell. He mentioned about having to get violent with some of them for him to be accepted or something.

Paul was a political football. He represented the conflict between Axl and Slash for control of the band in 94-95.

Reaction is very negative on GNR Reddit.
Negative reactions on Reddit to any topic at all? I don’t believe it!

There are short clips from Slash and Steven's testimonies in this video:
And some news reports about the testimonies of Slash, Axl, Duff and Doug Goldstein:

I know it’s slightly off topic, but does anyone know what’s happening with SMKC? There are hints here about a tour that’s now not happening?

Admittedly, $75,000 seems rather excessive for a piece of art so heavily based on another artist's work.
Paying Del a six pack is going to the other extreme, but I think I can see Niven's point.
Even if they had been legally correct in using a re-creation of an artist’s work without compensating the artist, it would have cost way more than $75k in lawyer fees to prove that in the ensuing lawsuit.

Niven thinks pretty highly of himself. He’s obviously upset that Doug crossed him, when in reality he probably would have ran things similarly if things moved forward. Everyone involved in that circle were there to squeeze every last penny out of the situation before someone died or the band imploded. There was no long term vision outside of who to tie yourself with to survive. For Doug, that was Axl. The health and well being of everyone there came last
The album artwork thing is hilarious. He’s probably looking to get one over on everyone. If he were representing me, I’d worry that he was willing to do that to his artists as well

The fact that his BMI is so high tells you that he's clearly not doing everything in his power to give the best show possible like he claims. If he was, he'd be lean and mean and able to run around the stage still (maybe not like he use to, but you get the point). Also, Axl was smoking cigars and drinking as recently as the early 10's... and those two things can and will cause permanent damage to the vocal chords.
Ok 🙄

I heard that during 2021 many bands pyro technicians bailed for greener pastures because of the time off during covid. I think lack of workers is also why RHCP postponed their tour last year. Many of these guys had to leave their professions in order to put food on the table. It makes sense to me, as well as what someone said earlier about minimizing the crew. I don’t buy that it’s for saving money. I mean even when Axl was touring with new GNR, they still had pyro where it was allowed and confetti during paradise city.
RHCP didn’t postpone a tour from last year.

I love REM but I’m not sure I agree. They had a bunch of albums and the public didn’t seem to be craving more by the end.

Wow, this was an exhibition on how to botch a book release.
I’m glad we got to see the original version though. Matt had slowly been amassing a catalog of douchiness over the years and that version of the book was his masterpiece.

This story was in the old version. It's mentioned both in the preface of the book as well as in chapter 48. He mentions how that was the reason he went in to rehab.
I stand corrected.
I think Matt may have edited this book because of the negative reaction the leak got. Pretty much anyone who read it came away with a lower opinion of the guy.

There is a story now making the online rounds from this upcoming book about Matt knocking out Uncle Joey from Full House after John Stamos wedding in 1998. I’m 90% sure this wasn’t in the version we read 2 years ago. It will be interesting to see what else was added/subtracted.

I forgot how much he went out of his way to bury the old band every chance he got.
It was relentless at one point. I found it interesting that we were supposed to move on from old GNR when he so obviously hadn’t.

Yes, that could be it. And maybe that Slash would want to include more footage.
In regards to Axl, it's likely that Stephanie Seymour was featured in some scenes, so maybe that was an additional reason it was buried.
As a fan, I think this footage would be fascinating as hell. But it might be very cringe worthy to the band members. Go back and watch Making of the Videos or interviews from that time. Slash, and especially Duff, are obnoxiously wasted at times. Axl had gone completely up his own ass by this point. I could see them watching some of this footage and saying “no way.”

Disagree. You could make a better argument that the one who wrote lyrics like these was the narcissist. “You like to hurt me, you know that you do.” - narcissists think everything someone might do is about them
