    whot petition

(I know everybody’s fed up of the petition but I can’t let this opportunity pass without responding - we need every last signature before we close the petition.)

So, @SerenityScorp - there’s a petition online asking our Izzy to consider playing a solo concert. It started in July and has got to about 1,824 signatures, and we’d like to push it to 2,000 and then close it. Please do add your name and email address (no-one will see it), it doesn’t cost anything, and it’s our best hope at present of reaching Izzy.

Maybe (probably) this petition won’t work, but at least we will have tried. And perhaps it will create the way to make something else happen (a new song, new video, who knows).

Here’s the link to the petition (if you’re on Twitter or Instagram, look for the hashtag #Izzyconcert2018 to see the international media coverage about it):

    Thank you x

I don't know if he ever said it, but the fact that he has barely performed live since the early 90's says enough.

His last full concert was 2007 [Edit: 2000]; he was last on stage with GNR in 2012. He’s put out so much new music since, though, we’d just like to hear some of it played live. We are not asking for some big stadium world tour. A simple YouTube ppv live-stream would be fine.

And if music fans would support the petition and just sign the thing instead of arguing at every turn about how useless it is, we’d have had 5000 names by now and wouldn’t have had to spend all this time, energy, money and effort promoting it on social media, and you and I wouldn’t need to have this exchange.

Ok, sorry I didn’t catch you joke. It felt sarcastic that’s why I said sordid.

To you more serious note: sure, social media would have helped to find people. Private people and police use it a lot nowadays and it helps a lot.

Thank you @Tori72 for once again trying to rally support for our petition in this thread. I don’t understand why something so simple as asking Izzy Stradlin to consider playing a concert that could raise thousands of people to a level of happiness and appreciation continues to draw such negativity and attack.

Can you show me where Izzy said he doesn’t want to play live?

Ooh, thanks, yeah, it is inaccurate, I'm also ignored

Since I have no info about who’s signed, the map is only based on info I can track from whoever shared the link on social media (the map is done lovingly by hand, it’s not computer-generated or anything), the point of the map is to thank people for sharing, and to get shares in new countries, to reach new people, to get more signatures. Let me know where you’ve been sharing from and I’ll happily put your red dot on the map for the 4th update of the map.

  5. Quick update: the petition is getting close to 800, and has been shared in at least 17 countries so far. It’s no secret that Izzy has been recording some new songs, which means our call for a live Izzy concert could very well reach him when the stars line up and he’s ready to share them.

Add your name here to help make this magic happen:

I’d rather sign a petition for Izzy to play 1, just 1 solo show. I’ve lost the desire to see Izzy with”guns” at this point

Me too, Top-Hatted One, me too. Seen GNR three times in the space of one year and all it did was feed this craving in me to see Izzy by himself, performing his rare, bare solo music on stage.

The question is: are there enough people who think like this, and who will sign the petition, even if they think Izzy “just wants to be left alone” (when did he say that anyway!), and impress Izzy enough for him to put on a show for us??

If this is for an Izzy tour: I'm in...

If this is for a spot in GNR: Please lord, NO!! I still have respect for the guy because he's avoiding this whole circus.

Well we’re hoping he’s open to doing one show for now (just him and his guitar, on some unfancy stage somewhere), then if it feels good and enough people appreciate it, he might do more, and build it into a tour.

  8. Quick update: we’re on our way to 600 signatures, next stop 1000. Remember it’s just an Izzy concert we’re after, not an AFD5 reunion - no not that.

Even if you’re not a big “Izzy fan”, you remember what it’s like to yearn to see your favourite musicians play live again. Please sign to support. And if you actually are an Izzy fan, just sign and share already. Here’s the link to the #Izzyconcert2018 petition:

So you guys, in case you need some inspiration, @Boogs posted some a ton of fun and cool reasons for signing the petition to Izzy on her twitter. Maybe you guys get inspired, maybe you wanna keep up with the negativity. It’s up to you. :izzy:

Ha ha you’re amazing, Tori! Good work with compiling that list from all those tweets. The dedication, the inspiration, the creativity - something good will come because of this petition. Let’s go crack that 400 signature goal tonight!

I signed it. Why not? Nothing to lose but a lot to gain. I honestly would rather Izzy play a solo gig with his usual guys (Rick Richards, Taz Bentley, JT Longoria). His solo material is great stuff and to hear a lot of it live for the first time would be killer. At this point, I've heard the GNR songs way too many times and am kind of tired of them. I would prefer something new.

Those are some great reasons for signing! Thank you
