Done 4 UK shows, no real surprises in the set, went to Poland last year and ended up with Back in Black, The Blues and Madagascar 😅
Its the curfew. The UK has some of the most strict curfews.
Thats why i chose to go to Madrid this year, with a more relaxed 1am curfew. And Prague last year.
Worked well, Madrid has been the longest show this tour and Prague was 2022 second longest show.

Didn’t they also skip KOHD at Reading and Leeds 2010?
Played it in Leeds but not at Reading.
So Reading 2010 another one with no KOHD

so no full show without KOHD after his debut in 1987. Tokyo 88 was a full show but it cut short too, also no Paradise City
Hershey 1991 was a full show and they didnt play it.

Since they started playing Anything Goes, I checked to see how often they've played Out Ta Get Me. Its an interesting song in that its never fully been a mainstay but it managed to be played at least a few times on almost every tour from 2001-2017.
I watched the official live video they have from 2016 in Houston and I was surprised just how full of rasp Axl is on that song. It was the perfect amount of it that he lost in years after and makes it a genuinely good modern performance of that song.
It was a mainstay song from 2001 to 2007

My 9th GNR show.
I saw The Rolling Stones last year in the same venue and it was so good that i knew i wanted to book my summer holidays around the GNR gig in the same stadium.
The Spanish crowd is not Argentina levels but its by far the best GNR crowd ive seen. Ole ole ole chants between songs and during the hits i felt like being in the middle of the Live Era album with the constant crowd noise. I dont know if they have a new mixing person or a new mixingboard but the sound was louder and clearer than ever before at a gnr gig. I could hear Dizzy throughout the gig. The bass was never buried. Axl was loud as fuck.
At the beginning of the gig Axl didnt stop dancing during the solos usually when he often disappears offstage, so i knew early on this is gonna be a good one.
Bad Obsession i enjoyed a shitload (is that a saying?)
Pretty Tied Up too!
Down By The Farm was wery cool. All of those should be keepers.
Rocket Queen was slower than usual and more "jam like" and probably my favorite rocket queen from this lineup. Very unique and cool.
Forever my dream songs to see live are. Twat, Locomotive and Prostitute.
When Axl announced "this next song is about a hairy time in my life"
I was thinking This I Love is next. But no.
Enter Twat!!!!
I was freaking out. Filming a bit a not. Duff saw me freaking out and singing the lyrics. (Iwas centerstage about 12 rows from the front)
Axl NAILED the vocs on twat Slash didnt exaclty nail it. He was good but missed the bucket killswitchpart and seemed distracted.
When the song ended Slash ran backstage and Axl announced that Slash just blew his ear out. "Give us a second" Axl said while Slash was backstage for only a minute and they came back with Dont Cry. Followed by Shadow Of Your Love. So slash seemed ok at this point but a bit shaken. (I hope he didnt blow his eardrum, but if he did. What a trooper). From this point pf the gig Frank was visibly in pain. After every song standing up and stretching his right arm and shaking it. Didnt affect his playing but he was in pain for sure. After Paradise he threw his sticks in air out of frustration and hit his cymbals with his fists in full force. Never seen him do that before.
Axl fell down on the drum riser during Civil War. Just before the "fill that vacuum" part.
Slash had a new solo. Reminded me of AC/DCs Rocker. But it wasent that.
The crowd went NUTS during Sweet Child.
Then after November Rain we got This I Love with a really nice and unique Slash solo. I liket that.
Then LOCOMOTIVE
I was freaking out again.
I love that song.
The outro is peak gnr.
Im so happy i got to experience it live.
But it was dangerous and awesome and i loved it.
Axl said after the song "that was fun" so get ready for more Locomotives!
After the encore
The acoustic guitars were out and they did their new intro to Patience except Axl interupted it.
Suddently they all changed guitars and started Yesterdays!
After it Axl said "i threw a little surprise. I like to change things up and not do always the same old boring thing"
After this the acoustic guitars werd back and the did patience. Now its 00:50 and the least tired person in the Stadium seemed to be Axl Rose. I have the feeling the only reason Paradise City was next was the 1am curffew cause Axl looked like he could do an hour more easily. Still running and dancing like Its So Easy just ended.
The Crowd was great for the last song jumping and chanting me included.
Followed by another ole ole ole chant during the bow.
Slash did a handstand again.
This was the perfect rock n roll gig. Injuries. Fun. Unpredictable. 3h27mins of Rock n roll.

I wouldn't judge anyone for it, but even as a hardcore fan I'd have zero interest in autographs, meeting the band, knowing what hotel they're at or any of those things.
I just looked up where the hotel is. Im like 500m from it. I might just walk past it 😅

Im here. Not hanging around their hotel tho. That said i wouldnt mind crossing paths with someone from the crew in the streets.

Strong set but killed off the encore???
Looks like the Warsaw show was the one to go to on this tour. Poland also the longest show on the last euro run.
And ironically the cheapest.
I read some one one who was both at Warsaw and Prague said Prague was better.
But setlistwise Warsaw takes the cake.
I was at Prague and Lisbon and both were awesome but Prague felt like one of the best current era shows. Everything just clicked.

I think Ashba was great.
Not my fav, but did his job. Great stage presence. Looked like he had a blast and played well.

Imagine its Ashba on stage doing all his hits.
Bella Vita
Ballad Of Death
Mi Amor

The stage is always placed in the middle in San Siro.

Please, no more back-to-back gigs, even if held at the same venue. No bands who’ve been around as long as GNR do that any longer - and no vocalist of any age puts in the effort that Axl does. The dude deserves his night (or two) off, regardless the circumstances. Only positive aspect of the late cancelation is that there was obviously some desire and intention to perform the show as scheduled. To the extent that they haven’t yet cancelled additional shows, the same appears to hold true for the remaining dates on this leg (at least for the moment). Hoping for the best with Axl and fingers crossed for those who’ve gotten tickets and have waited so long.
I think Axl knows his limits better than us.
There was quite a few back to back shows in late 2017 when the shows lasted more than 3.5hours.
Im sure the issue is not that. Its singing while sick.
If im not mistaken the last time Axl cancelled a gig for being sick is Philly 2002. 20 years ago!
Take almost any band amd you will find that the singer cancelled a date in the last 20 years for being sick. It happens.
No big deal. Chill guys.

God you guys are so over the top. This is nothing like 2002.
Yep. This is more like 1992 when then postponed a bunch of shows on the Metallica tour because Axl blew his voice out in Giants Stadium.
Now they just have to make sure the next show isint in Montreal
