I stopped our shared Spotify playlist last night dead in its tracks to make an announcement that I wanted to play an unreleased Guns N’ Roses song. I threw on “Monsters” and cranked it up loud. Then I forced people to listen to me discuss the merits of the song, the bridge, how Axl referred to it as one of his heaviest moments, etc.

I’m a lot of fun at parties.

Playing Absurd to new people at parties is a great icebreaker.

but at least we have the Monsters leak. Much better than getting just 1 track we already have a version of and 1 unreleased track. All in all, not bad to get 2 unreleased Gn'R tunes in 1 year and a new version of Perhaps imo.

the quality of Monsters is also means that Axl might have more unreleased tunes from the Chinese era on that caliber as I personally consider Monsters as the strongest track released from the NITL lineup.

That's very true. All in all I think we can be happy with 2023 as GNR fans.

If we get the same level of productivity in 2024 I'd be happy.

Also agree about Monsters being the best 'new' track. That song deserves a stand alone release really, and a big budget music video while they're at it!

Has anyone ordered the CD from that Japanese website? I've read stories how people were scammed by the site and how they increased the shipping costs once the item had been paid. Someone even claimed that his PayPal was hacked after buying from that website.

I want the CD. It's also avaliable for preorder on ebay but it is more expensive there.

CDJapan is super legit and has existed for decades I think. I've ordered from them plenty of times and never had any problems.

  4. No real promo from Axl and no music videos basically destroyed any chance of Chinese Democracy being the commercial success that it deserved to be.

I imagine Axl felt mysterious and edgy going into hiding but it was self sabotage on an industrial scale and he effectively ended his career as a commercial recording artist in that moment.

Here we are today, 15 years later and still waiting for the follow up!

Presumably there will be a CD outside of Japan now. I can't see it just being there so I'm going to hold off ordering for a bit to see.

Good news though- a decent quality copy of The General will be great.

I'd say there's a 90% certainty that a CD single becomes available worldwide in the next week or so.

It's great we're getting some sort of CD single though!
