To the reply(replies?) that said Steven wasn't in the band at this point, I could have sworn Fans on YouTube said that Steven and Duff look stoned at Matt who is off camera.
so you saw 2 drums there?
how long have you been a fan now?

the more shit they are, the more close the majority of us is to what we want, no Rich, Frank, Melli, but Iz/Gilby/Steve/Matt, the very last card Ax still has up his sleeve.
When it comes down to new songs...ppl here tend to forget what Marc said in terms of song making.
When a song was made, they took it apart and each member added his part to complete the song.
One was in charge of melodies, the otherriff, the third the bridge...
Maaaaybe that input Iz/Matt/Steve gave them is the reason why they can't move forward with new quality songs.
-
Quiet frankly, not many of us here want them to release shit so much beneath GNR level like Hard or Absurd. Let's be honest, the only song those 2 could replace on UYI's is - My World.
Perhaps they realised they are not getting anywhere and don't want to drag GNR moniker deeper to shit.

until this tour comes to an end or they climb together on stage, we can all just speculate.
the fact they are further away or closer to Manaus doesn't mean they won't join the reston certain date(s).
Fact is, they are all there and Danielle and Gilby take a picture saying 'see you soon', kinda means she talked to broader audience than the 5 people at club or private show. Someone also pointed out she wore GNR shirt...That can be a writting on the wall.
Was Frank spotted in Brazil? Just checked his account, seems he didn't really post and was in NYC last. Can't be much harm if he stays there...

where is the picture of Duff and Matt to be seen?

What's to say he can't do both?? Do the cashgrab first, and then do the AFD lineup shows after. That's just plain smart, that's what I would do. No need to choose only one when you can do both. I'm pretty sure in the back of Axls mind he knows the original lineup doing a show is wanted by many people and will garner attention no matter what, it's like an ace up the sleeve he's keeping.
that is something I've been saying for years, just that moment is slowly passing and his singing is declining. soon the momentum will be passed and he ain't doing no favour neither to himself nor the people buying the tickets.
-
its one of thoe songs Izzy is despeartely needed. Ax could solve half of his vocal problems if he shared vovals with Izzy or Gilby, ie. Rio YCBM second night. Funny someone is so greedy he keeps rolling this cash grab instead of covering his inabilities and bringing a great show with original line up.

after HS and Absurd I hope for nothing. Still keep that tiny bit of legacy that UYI's left behind

I didn't know Slash was writing music that early for what would become his first album. I always assumed it was early 1994 when the band was trying to make music which eventually came to a halt. The Estranged video was filmed in 1993 but I guess he could've had some music and ideas from then.
man you know when Fall to pieces began to come together? WAAAAAYYYY before VR was in the works.

It wasn't grunge that killed Gunners, it was - Axl.
Grunge was just another genra around the corner.
Did grunge effect Bon Jovi being stadium bend? Did it effect U2 or Metallica? Did it effect Aerosmith?
That is just loads of bullshit coming from the bands who began releasing bad records.
Gunners were on top of the world and could have remained being there as long as they wanted if they didn't selfterminate the way they did.
Rock lived through 60's/70's/80's/90's together with pop/funk/disco/metal/punk/rap and would have lived shoulder to shoulder with grunge as it did with all the other genre.

Don't talk for me. In my opinion, Hard Skool is better than both Civil War and Breakdown.
OH SHIT! Sorry, nobody but you wants to hear HS and Absurd, better now!?

it is not about the age of the material, it is about the quality.
Hell give me another Breakdown, Civil War, YCBM..even if its dated back to 1985.
Nobody wants to hear shit like HS, Absurd...after hearing UYI's, AFD, Lies 30 years ago.
Now to the subject of creativity. Give us the members who were in the band when those records were made and fail with it - nobody will say a word. But give us the band we now have and songs they are giving us now - of course we will take a piss at them. They are giving us shit music for 'not wanting to share the loot equally'.

Actually Izzy's album came out first, at 92, and Gilby's at 94 - so yeah, it's the second GN'R solo, and Gilby's the third :)
Yeah, I ment GNR solo in terms of being in the band at that time.
Izzy released JuJu as soon as he was out.

Got it the day it was released. Loved it, Belive in me, 10 years..., it was also the second GNR solo album after Gilby's Pawn shop. Art work is good.not sure what I would think today, probably liked Snakpit's better,
...in all honesty, all albums should available in some quantity, it is a piece of heritage. Such a shame ppl can't buy Snakepit, Neurotic outsiders...

Does Doug see any of the quartet Izzy/Matt/Gilby/Steve joining the band?
Granted, I don't think Steve can physically endure the band and w/o Izzy they obviously don't have what it take to create music up to GNR standard

It's a shame that Slash talking about new GN'R material is much the same as the nuGuns guys talking about it in terms of not really going into specifics and trying to dodge the questions. I had hoped that things would be different post-reunion. Good news that new singles are coming out. Any GN'R material is good material at this point really. It is a bit of an elephant in the room considering that genre wise his solo stuff is the same as Guns so those songs could be Guns songs but the fact they're not implies that no new new material will be out.
The wording re the album's a bit vague though - it could be read two ways:
a) Once they've put an album's worth of singles out they'll release them as an album.
b) A few more singles until an album's worth of stuff is good to go and then a whole album will drop.
If it is option a it reminds me of what Billy Corgan had planned with Teargarden by Kaleidyscope way back when. Indeed, at the time (late 2000s) there was talk that records were dead and that putting odd songs out now and again was the way forward. It didn't take off though.
It will probably end same way - for the better too, judging Absurd and HS.
These 2 prove once and for all - it takes a lot more than just Salash/Axl/Duff to make a record to GNR standards.
Absurd and HS are something that could be heard in every city in some club, each night, actually I do believe there are localy bands nobody has ever heard of that play clubs with better stuff every night.

The thing that shocked me was Doug commenting that Axl did not enjoy one minute of the Illusions tour....if so then why did he do it I wonder.
absurd parties after every show, everything blown out of proportion, sold out stadiums, cash flow, Axl clearly seemed to enjoy every second of it while it last, his ego growing bigger than Empire state building when it ended

any Izzy mention or if sees Izzy joining the band down the line?
creativly they seem to be really going nowhere without him

would be cool to get a video of Dead Horse, Breakdown, Locomotive gig.
Dead Horse 91 was unbeatable compared to all the other versions ever played.
Rio 1991 was KILLER!

I'm sure that was a long gap and Duff wrote about first meeting with Axl. at Prince death - there is an interview -video in which Duff said about it. I don't rememeber any hursh words from Axl about Duff in silence years
why does everyone mention Duff and Axl communicating during Prince' death in this topic!?
of course they communicated at that time, they jut flew in from GNR show and Slash was asked about Prince at the airport.
Prince died after the 3 reunited.

Are you the one that accused people of being xenophobic of brazilians just because they criticized TB? If so; thanks, gave me a good laugh.
Actually, NO! So continue laughing and mixing up people/topics/posters.
No wonder you are laughing so much.

You can't blame them.
Last thing you heard with Slash and Duff - Illusions.
30 years later first thing you hear with Slash and Duff - Hardskool and Absurd.
They seriously should rethink retiering before going further downhill with GNR moniker
