  1. The only problem I see in this whole thing is that the drug lords, the bosses will keep on living their great lives. Drug dealers should all be killed imo. But that should include the big guys.

So basically what you're saying is that Izzy should have been executed in 1985, and that GNR should never have existed?

    "You know...I've been the dealer...

    Hangin' on your street".

  2. I get that some people think it's cool to make snide remarks and try to turn everything into a joke, but have a little respect. The idea that someone thinks it's hilarious that a group of people were just shot to death by a firing squad this morning, is borderline insane. And to be so hyper-critical of people trying to sell heroin, on a Guns n' Roses message board of all fucking places. These people obviously made a terrible mistake, but it sounds like they really turned their lives around and tried to inspire the people around them. They obviously inspired Axl to try to do something, and even if you disagree with him there' s no reason to be so mean-spirited about it. As someone mentioned, treating drug mules a million times worse than terrorist murderers is wrong on just about every level imaginable.

Again, not saying everybody has to agree with it. The Black's letter was hilarious, for example. I just don't get why certain people think murder is so hilarious.

  3. Unfortunately it appears that the two men referenced in Axl's letter were executed hours ago, along with several others ... however the 3rd name (Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso) was apparently given a reprieve and may still be alive.

Indonesian television is also reporting that the executions of eight prisoners – all men – have taken place, but that the Filipina woman, Mary Jane Veloso, was spared at the last minute, after a woman accused of tricking her into carrying drugs turned herself into police in the Philippines on Tuesday.

There are reports that the executions took place at around 00.25 local time.

#Indonesia confirms executions of 8: including Myu and Andrew. The darkest of days. The fight to end death penalty must continue.

  4. When I listened again it seemed interesting he mentions up front how he heard Axl let everyone go, then throws his hat into the ring. I love you I'm ready to manage you again!

But Axl doesn't seem to want a manager trying to push for reunion or anything else. He just needs someone to book tours and if the label agrees to put out CD II then great.

If they did a reunion though they might need Niven for the record and Dougie to run the tour.

It's so funny, a pretty good case can be made for the "it's the label blocking CD" argument ... but at the same time, c'mon man. Many artists give the label a hard time, not just Axl. Why would a company in a cesspool like the music business (second only to the oil business in the art of money grubbing) turn down large sums of cash just to spite a delusional rock singer? Even Del said "it's done when Axl says it's done".

We need a Universal whistleblower with access to those files.

That's a question I wish he asked Doug. Why the hell did Axl go through all that shit, just to release one album in 20 years and tour a tribute to an album with no other original members?

  5. Listened to the interview, extremely interesting throughout. Kudos to Goldstein, the interview is two hours long and he answered every question. I thought he was pretty fair, in that he was able to criticize Axl for certain things, but defended him for a lot of different stuff, trying to explain where Axl was coming from, etc.

Took a lot of shots at Alan Niven - guess Axl and Niven never got along but Slash wanted him out as well.

Not a lot of mind-blowing new info, but some interesting stories and generally candid answers. Worth checking out.

  6. Noticed a few really interesting posts from Snooze over the last few months. You may have already explained this previously, but what was your role in all of that (ie. the '99-'02 era of GNR, etc.), if you can say? Feel free to keep the info coming .. always fascinating hearing about what went on back then. Do you have any insight as to why we still haven't heard Atlas Shrugged or The General 13 years later? Have you ever heard them?

  7. Yeah, really interesting and candid interview. He talks about Guns (off and on) for over half an hour. He did seem to get a bit tentative when considering whether he wants to tell another Guns story or not. Like he's thinking, "Does this violate my nondisclosure agreement?"

Did refer at one point to a time when "Axl didn't do anything for 2 years", lol. Basically confirms a lot of what we already know, which is that the band during that time period was a complete circus, the record company was spending ridiculous amounts of money on nothing, and that Buckethead is one strange motherfucker.
