People are being too negative, this was actually a really good interview. Yeah we all wish the GNR guys would talk more about GNR. But Duff said it twice in this interview, they made a conscious decision not to do any press. It's probably an Axl thing, but they like the mystique. It is what it is.
I thought his comment on It's So Easy in a previous interview was pretty silly, but the answer here made sense. Yeah, Duff is more PC now. He's also older and wiser. I do agree that he should just say it was a punk rock song and some of the lyrics were a little coarse, but honestly the best thing to do is probably just to downplay it and move on.
It's also quite obvious that they simply do not want to talk in public about what happened with Izzy Stradlin. It totally sucks, I get it, we all love Izzy and we would like to know what went down, but they have all been very cryptic about it (including Izzy) so it's no surprise. If I were to interview Duff I would absolutely ask the question; I just wouldn't expect a detailed response.
Overall, it's a good interview, nothing groundbreaking, worth a listen.

My favorite GNR story is one told by Matt Sorum in a magazine article. I read this a long time ago (in a galaxy far far away) so I might be a little off on the details, but here it is:
It's the UYI tour, another night where the band's been sitting around for a long time drinking and waiting for Axl, so they could go on stage. So finally Matt's had enough, and says "I'm going to find out what the hell is taking him so long" (to the horror of the rest of the band).
He heads out to look, and eventually enters a room where Axl is sitting on a chair in the middle of the room, holding a shotgun. Axl says, "You can leave now".
So Matt turned around and got the hell out of there as fast as he could.

I love Joe's podcast. As others have said, they're long (2-hr) free-form casual interviews, I think Axl would probably have fun talking animals, Trump, a little GnR, etc. Would be absolutely epic if he'd be willing to do it.

If nothing else, it's proof that Axl is no longer suffering from an acute case of entering-a-studio-itis. And that is a Christmas miracle.
I dig it, and Axl sounds great.
Will be interesting to find out more about the track, and let's all hope there's more to come ...

So when is the "big news" supposed to be announced ?
"Soon".
And yes to 'Sailing' being a great cover. That's actually one I'd really like to hear a studio version of.

If you buy the Locked N' Loaded box set and put on all of the rings, do you get Thanos-like powers
Theoretically possible.
Quotewhich enable you to force Axl to release new music?
100% impossible.

This sounded like the coolest of the leaks but I'm let down.
Better Gone is the only thing I could see myself listening to more than once in the next decade.
Yeah, this. I actually really dig If the World, and the short clip of this remix from a couple of years back sounded promising.
But the full thing is extremely underwhelming.

Better acoustic is Bumblefoot.
The 2 Ashba tracks that just leaked are studio versions of Mi Amor and Ballad of Death.

Listened to Going Down for the first time ever.
Holy mother of god, that chorus is amazing and incredibly catchy.
Love it.
Yeah, it's really a great song. Try to find the Evader mix of the 1st leak with Bumble. So good.
-
The opening guitar riff is different and louder, but maybe that was just Bumble playing over a weaker guitar track on the right channel?

Always liked this song a lot, cool to have an alternate version. Noticed the intro is a little different, very similar otherwise.

What's the consensus on this? Some have said this is Atlas.
Axl's raw vocal take without filters.

Given that Brain and Melissa have played a bit of the Remix album during basketball halftime shows, I would guess that a remix for Sorry also exists and sounds something like this:
(starts around 0:38)
Cool, thanks. Hadn't seen this yet!

You've got the other remix tracks in full?
No, I was just referring to previous leaks. Between the full songs and snippets, we've heard at least a piece of most of the remix tracks (if not all) now. Are there any we haven't heard even a snippet from?
-
Yeah, Axl slays on the vocals here. The "remix album" is a mixed bag overall but this is one (of several) tracks that are really cool, totally different style/vibe and worth checking out.
What I really want to hear most of all though, is those unreleased CD2 songs. And I think I speak for many here that I would much, MUCH prefer to hear them in officially released versions. Unfortunately, GNR is not a band that releases new music, so we take what we can get.
-
As for these new leaks, they're quite underwhelming. Really rough mixes and also incomplete since they were apparently designed to add a guitar track, drums and bass too loud and clearly work mixes. Plus probably distorted by the leaker.
Nice to finally hear a studio version of Silkworms though it could still be miles away from the "finished" version.
Original version of OMG is way better, though impossible to really compare to this rough incomplete mess.

Going Down with Tommy on lead vocals.

It really is a great show from start to finish. Always regretted missing the Skin and Bones tour live. Love the acoustic portion of the show, and this version of 'You Could Be Mine' is simply fucking awesome.

Should call it "In This Lifetime!"
Definitely looking forward to checking this out.

Fernando, to your knowledge have Axl, Slash and Duff had any writing sessions for brand new material?
And will we ever get to hear songs like The General and Atlas Shrugged?
-
It just feels weird to hear something new from GNR. Like, I'm listening to a newly released song, with a lyric video, and some media buzz. You know, just a thing that (almost) all bands do.
Of course it's even weirder considering it's a song I first heard over 20 years ago.
Always thought it was just an okay song, a good B-side, but damn, this recording does sound pristine. I like it.
I don't know about the vocals, sounds fairly 80s Axl to me. I'm sure they spruced it up. But if Clink recorded a full version of the song in consideration for Appetite, that was then cleaned up and remastered in 2018, I can see this being the result.

Duff on Izzy Interviews - The Rolling Stone/Blabbermouth 18th July [New]
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Posted
Izzy tweeted a clip of himself singing a song with cryptic lyrics that could be about Axl, and made one comment about "the loot", but he was absolutely cryptic about it. We still have no idea whatsoever, what he wanted or asked for.
Did he want to play rhythm guitar for the whole tour and get an equal share? Or did he want to come and go? Izzy has only done a handful of shows in the last 20 years so I find it hard to believe he'd be up for a 3-year world tour.
Still holding out hope that we get to see a limited "Original 5" tour at some point. But new music most of all.
As for negativity, I skimmed through 2/3 of page 1 and wasn't going to bother listening to the interview based on what i read, but decided to click the link and ended up enjoying it a lot. So I feel like the comments did not fairly describe the interview itself.
