  1. It seems probable at this point that GNR added an album's worth of songs to Spotify.

It would also explain why they didn't release "1 or 2 songs" as Slash mentioned a while back, if plans changed to release a new album instead. Which, as we know, is a thing that bands do when they finish a bunch of new songs.

Except for this one of course, so we're back to square one.

The GN'R Records label thing looks like a model similar to how Slash releases his records. He has his own label, but signed a deal with Gibson to release and distribute the last record.

Taking a stroll down Speculation Street, it is certainly possible there was some sort of dispute about these songs behind the scenes that caused delays (regarding ownership or profits, perhaps?) that may now be resolved with GNR setting up its label.

I also think it may be a good strategy to roll out new songs before the box set. A release will get covered by all major music outlets and increased interest in the band should lead to more sales of the UYI box as well.

We should all keep a "believe it when I see it" mindset, but man it would just be awesome if we finally get to hear these songs after so many years.

  3. Difficult choices now, I really like all of these songs. But we have to vote for something, and I think at this point it's either the title track, or SOD.

Street of Dreams it is, the mix is okay but it just never measured up that original live leak we listened to for so long.

    OK, nevermind--

  4. I knew Riad, Scraped and If the World would have the early lead! It's funny cause I agree with the first 2, but always really liked If the World - it's like Axl's attempt at a Bond theme song.

Riad is such an oddity in the GNR catalog, the early leaks made it sound so enticing, and the amped-up bass version on the Village CD's is actually pretty good ... but this poll is about the Chinese Democracy album itself, and there are 2 clear and obvious options here:

    1. Scraped (my vote)

    2. Riad & the Bedouins

  5. This was interesting. I don't love the Spaghetti Incident that much, but I have been playing it lately, and it sounds damn good with lots of volume. Thought there was 1 or 2 obvious tracks to vote for but looking at the tracklist, there isn't. I had no idea what the consensus was going with, either, but figured it was Look at Your Game Girl, which I actually quite like.

Voted for Raw Power. It's not bad, just decent-meh, which could also be said about Buick Makane and Memory.

I LOVE Human Being, Down on the Farm, and I Don't Care About You.
