It seems probable at this point that GNR added an album's worth of songs to Spotify.
It would also explain why they didn't release "1 or 2 songs" as Slash mentioned a while back, if plans changed to release a new album instead. Which, as we know, is a thing that bands do when they finish a bunch of new songs.
Except for this one of course, so we're back to square one.

Probably not. Back in the day November was a great time to release an album due to Christmas sales, but nobody buys albums anymore so it don't really matter.
Makes more sense for the UYI box, which is meant to sell physical copies.

What if an album has been uploaded but won't be released until the end of November? We could be in this limbo for 2 more months!

The GN'R Records label thing looks like a model similar to how Slash releases his records. He has his own label, but signed a deal with Gibson to release and distribute the last record.
Taking a stroll down Speculation Street, it is certainly possible there was some sort of dispute about these songs behind the scenes that caused delays (regarding ownership or profits, perhaps?) that may now be resolved with GNR setting up its label.
I also think it may be a good strategy to roll out new songs before the box set. A release will get covered by all major music outlets and increased interest in the band should lead to more sales of the UYI box as well.
We should all keep a "believe it when I see it" mindset, but man it would just be awesome if we finally get to hear these songs after so many years.

Random Question: do you believe any vocals have been recorded after 1999?

Mark Kostabi recently responded in the comment section of an article about the UYI painting (assuming it really was him). And what he says makes total sense - unlike Niven, who is entertaining but every time he talks makes Axl's decision look more like the right one.

Niven is absolutely wrong. My painting, called Use Your Illusion, was not in the public domain. That would be like saying many of Andy Warhol's most valuable paintings are in the public domain because Warhol quoted Da Vinci's Mosa Lisa or other old masters. Warhol transformed the subjects into his own style, cropped, changed colors, repeated in patterns, changed titles, etc. Niven's $75,000 price quote is wrong too and how could he know? It is contractually protected private knowledge and as Niven said, he did not negotiate the deal for Axl. If Axl had used the public domain original from the Renaissance it would have had muted colors, would not have had my signature black-and-white chiaroscuro and sfumato contrasting to the simplified bright serigraph colors in the background. He also could have not used my title: Use Your Illusion (which my brother Paul Kostabi actually provided.) And IMO it would not have sold as much because it would have looked old-fashioned. Axl now owns the copyright to my transformative version of the Raphael detail, so he can sue anyone who copies and sells the Use Your Illusion merchandise. It was a great deal for everyone involved!

I guess we should check to see when the tour ends, for a best guess as to when the single might be released to promote the tour.

Down to 2 of my favourite songs of all time. Hurts to pick one, but .....
Welcome to the Jungle, you know where the fuck you are? You're in the ... uh, jungle, baby! You gonna get voted out!

I like Coma quite a bit, but it had no business winning the battle for UYI1, much less still being alive at this point.
Coma, maybe we'd be better off without you anyway!!

They're all great at this point, but I'll vote Coma.

"Ain't it fun when you know you're gonna be voted #1?
Such fun!!"

Have to admit, that was pretty damn good. Axl loves to pop up when you least expect it! He certainly looked like he enjoyed himself, wish he would step out of the comfort zone more often but we take what we can get. The whole thing sounded great.

Chinese Democracy ... you're out of time!

Difficult choices now, I really like all of these songs. But we have to vote for something, and I think at this point it's either the title track, or SOD.
Street of Dreams it is, the mix is okay but it just never measured up that original live leak we listened to for so long.
OK, nevermind--

Can't imagine why people are voting for Prostitute at this early stage, or even Catcher ... though I do like all the remaining tracks so it does get harder now.
However, This I Love still a fairly easy choice here.

I knew Riad, Scraped and If the World would have the early lead! It's funny cause I agree with the first 2, but always really liked If the World - it's like Axl's attempt at a Bond theme song.
Riad is such an oddity in the GNR catalog, the early leaks made it sound so enticing, and the amped-up bass version on the Village CD's is actually pretty good ... but this poll is about the Chinese Democracy album itself, and there are 2 clear and obvious options here:
1. Scraped (my vote)
2. Riad & the Bedouins

I understand the votes for SIDHY at this point, surprising it lasted this long. I love it though.
Ain't It Fun is obviously a good song, but 3rd best of these 3 options so I will waste my vote on it for the next 2 rounds lol.

Only 2 options for me are Hair of the Dog and Black Leather. Second one's kind of grown on me over the years, whereas I am pretty bored of Hair of the Dog, so that's the pick.

Raw Power ... again.

This was interesting. I don't love the Spaghetti Incident that much, but I have been playing it lately, and it sounds damn good with lots of volume. Thought there was 1 or 2 obvious tracks to vote for but looking at the tracklist, there isn't. I had no idea what the consensus was going with, either, but figured it was Look at Your Game Girl, which I actually quite like.
Voted for Raw Power. It's not bad, just decent-meh, which could also be said about Buick Makane and Memory.
I LOVE Human Being, Down on the Farm, and I Don't Care About You.
The "New Album" Thread . The maybe, possibly, at some point, soon, whenever, wtf Axl thread🤞
