This reminds me of 2006, when it was announced that “Better” would be featured in the new Harley Davidson commercial/campaign and then it was released for like a day before it was yanked because it was an “unapproved demo”.

Bring on the left overs! Axl seems done with recording and Slash’s recent solo efforts have been pretty lackluster.

The only songs we know for sure are complete are Atlas, Perhaps, State of Grace, and The General. We know because we have heard them. Everything else is complete speculation. Other songs have been mentioned and it possible some of them are finished and it’s possible we’ve heard the instrumental demos under different titles on the village discs, but again that’s just speculation. Axl did indicate he recorded vocals for ‘Soul Monster’…. Which some have speculated is on the village demos as ‘Me and my Elvis’ but it’s not clear to me what evidence they are using for they claim… Other than the Elvis connection. I’m willing to take Axl’s word on that… or it could be like ‘Nothing’ or ‘Eye on You’ and all he recorded was a chorus or verse idea. we don’t know until the band releases more or more is leaked.

Which is weird, Slash’s Better solo sucks.

I think The General is going to be the lead single and Perhaps will be the B side. I think/hope Axl wants to hit us with something totally new.

What are people expecting? What is the hype? For years we just had a title until we got the recording from the party… From everything we do know about it, it’s not like it’s suppose to be a pop song with a catchy sing along chorus or anything… From the CD sessions I’m pretty sure ‘Better’ is the only song that has any pop sensibilities… The General from what we can hear of it sounds like a mix of something like Sorry/SOG/Coma… A darker, melodic “epic” in terms of length and production. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ummm… Slash is black? Do people just not know this? What is happening? I believe GnR has three people of color in the current band. Odd take.

It’s will either happen tomorrow or during the US tour if it’s gonna happen at all…Just my feeling.

There is definitely a ‘problem’ with Slash’s playing as the reunion has gone on. It’s been noted by so many different people, it’s real. Is it a total detriment to the shows or ruin the overall enjoyment? No, not for me… But I do note it and it makes me not as excited about some songs when I’m at a show. It’s a bit of a nit pick, much like people bitching about Buckethead or Robins versions of Slash solos. Funny, people bitched about various player not playing Slash’s solos exactly and now Slash is playing some song in an unrecognizable way…. But I’m still going to the shows and enjoying them. Slash’s playing has changed as has Axl’s voice.
