  1. where they can retain credibility in the sense that not only are they playing for financial incentive

    That shipped sailed long ago.

The only reason they are touring is for financial purposes.

Providing food, shelter, clothing, cars and all of life's necessities for a family of Brazilian leaches, Jarmo and Del James can get rather expensive.

  2. You guys should really listen to the title track "Nothing Left To fear" singing by Myles Kennedy, it's amazing. I mean it's all guitar/voice. Guitars and song in general is just ok but Myle's voice on this is totally brilliant ! rock3

How did you hear it? All I saw was a link to the 30 second preview. Do you have a link to the actual song?

  3. CD was basically a Stephanie Seymour tribute album heavy on the woe is me lyrically.

I think This I Love was a low point of his career lyrically for a song that had been built up among the GNR fan base over years as it had. I still cringe when I hear that song.

  4. When it become apparent that Axl was truly arrogant and stupid enough to genuinely believe he was GNR and carry on with the name by himself we should have all seen how badly it would end.

The thought of it to many of us has been ridiculous, but as more and more time passes you truly do find yourself often wondering "what the fuck was he thinking" ever thinking this was a good idea that would go well for him.

Axl's career going into the toilet was Karma's way of telling him he made a bad decision, and there is only one way to ever make it right.

  5. This woman is a tremendous manipulator.

She realized from the get-go that Axl was an easy mark, and has managed to go from being the maid to essentially running the entire GNR empire. That is the sign of a great conman (or con-woman in her case).

Knowing how fragile Axl has always been emotionally she stepped right in and has leveraged their personal relationship in a way that drove away everyone in his life leaving her and her spawn to run everything.

She has done a masterful job brainwashing Axl because otherwise I don't see how he could be that blind not to see how she has ruined his career.

By acting as the gate keeper to him she gets to keep him paranoid and only trusting of her, which only exacerbates the problems he has. She is able to rake in the cash, and keep away any potential sane voices from his life that would expose the fraud that is the entire Lebeis clan.

He's Axl freaking Rose, and yet somehow he has been relegated to nothing more than a pawn in the Lebeis familiy's continued torpedoing of GNR, his legacy, and his career.

It is freaking sad. He's like a member of a freaking cult with his devotion to this family despite the toxic effect they have had on his life and career. He'll realize it one day as most do in situations like this, but by then it will be too late.

What we all wouldn't give for him to snap the hell out of it and kick the Lebeis family, Jarmo, Del James and the rest of the enablers out of his life so he can get back to being a real person again who isn't under the spell of a Brazillian house keeper.

  6. Myles has breathed new life into Slash's career.

Since he came into the picture Slash has been more enthusiastic and excited about music and his playing than I have seen him probably since his GNR days.

We also finally get to hear him playing some of the GNR stuff again on a regular basis that he wasn't up until Myles came around. There is a small group here that think Myles sounds terrible on the GNR stuff, but to public at large the reaction has been super positive. He doesn't try and sing or act like Axl on them, he just sings the shit out of them and people notice.

How many good GNR covers were there vocally that did justice to the songs prior to Myles? Almost none. Speaks volumes to the guys talent that he has pulled them off like he has.

Slash wouldn't be playing Civil War, Rocket Queen and the like if Myles was a hack that didn't do the song justice. He'd be still doing the easy ones like ISO and Brownstone.

I am very excited to see the follow up to AL. Slash himself said there was no theme to the album and they just put songs together to see how it would work. Now that everyone in the band has a level of commitment that the band has a future (even sharing him with AB) I think we will see an evolution as they try and find their own sound,

  7. Fucking annoying. Another band I can't stand. Played on the radio too much.

I guess one of the beauties of not listening to the radio is that stuff is fresh for me then when I do find it. I had no clue they had gotten as popular as they have.

  8. Apologies if there is a thread somewhere already as I am late to the game on this, don't venture into this section much normally.

I remember hearing this song earlier in the year for Discovery Channel's promos for "The Bible" and thinking ti was a cool song. I don't really listen to the radio, but was flipping through and heard it and didn't realize it had been released as a single (did quite well).

I went on Youtube to listen to it again and saw this live version that was all kinds of awesome.

It's a powerful song and this really captures it. Not to mention the guitar outro was pretty damn cool. These guys seem like a great live act.

Do yourself a favor and check this out if you aren't familiar with the band. Sounds kind of fresh and different.

  9. I´m old GNR fan, to me nothing compares Axl, Duff, Slash, Izzy, Steven and Matt in the past

But nowadays I don’t want to reunite anymore because I love Slash, Myles. In my point of view they have a great chemist and I really wish they do many good things together and one of this is play YCBM.

I don't think they will ever play YCBM, but if they did it would be Todd singing it for sure. Myles wouldn't do it.

  10. I heard him on a recent interview (can't remember where) but he said they worked up 3 new (old songs) to play for this upcoming run of shows which will be the last of the AL tour.

He said one was a track they haven't been playing from AL and the other 2 are older material (probably snakepit or VR). At least he is trying to keep the setlists fresh.

  11. So ... why not create a new band? Or go solo? The Axl Rose Project?

Money, Axl has essentially said that himself. No record company was going to give him a blank check to record his dream album the way he could with the GNR recording contract, not to mention the financial benefit of touring with the band name over a new brand that was unknown other than being Axl's new solo band.

Being able to tour as GNR is one hell of a retirement plan.

Besides, he can barely do anything more than the bare minimum to keep GNR going, he would never have had the drive or desire to create his own thing. It is alot of work, and he has an aversion to hard work.

  12. Would GNR be better going independent?

It's impossible at this point as the label owns all the CD material and Axl would never pay what they would want to get out of the contract.

He would be worse off than he is now, as he would be out a ton of money from having bought himself out of the old recording contract and with his reputation no one would give them a nickel up front to record anything.

He would have to pay for all recording costs of new material knowing that sales wouldn't be terribly high given how the world is now in regards to that.

He has put himself in no mans land, and has no one to blame but himself.

It sucks for him and the fans he has no good options, but ultimately that is what he was going for by behaving the way he did during the recording of CD and subsequent release. He insured no one would ever give him another dime for anything up front with the shit he pulled by refusing to finish the album in a timely way and then refusing to promote it.

  13. So no support for Axls band. Never really any intention to put the record out.

    Can you blame them?

They gave him that record deal thinking they were getting Guns N' Roses, never realizing they would ultimately be funding Axl's solo project under the guise of being GNR.

Axl has said he kept the name because of the financial benefits of the recording contract, so I don't blame the company for having zero interest in him.

He pulled a classic bait and switch on them, and has spent the past 15 years paying for it.
