  1. Still happier than anytime in the past 20 years.

The CD era was just, not...not fun.  I don't miss having to qualify all my answers about how my favorite band was not really the ragtag group of nameless assholes using the name right now, but the actual band you all remember.

Then I saw them last year, I was finallyl able to say "I am going to see Guns N' Roses".  No qualifiers, no caveats.

    Not looking to go back.

  2. Nope.

And honestly, I might actively be rooting against it at this point.  It would obviosuly a not even all that pleasant one off, but no one will take it like that.  Not looking forward to then having to sift through a bunch of whining about how "this is how it should be" and how anything other than those 5 guys is just an affront to humankind.

    Pass.

This is so petty. You have Slash and Axl, with Duff, playing together as Guns N'Roses, on a successful stadium tour, and there's gotta be SOMETHING to piss and moan over. The causal fans who are there to see Axl and Slash play the hits they remember care as much about Chinese Democracy songs as they do the deep cuts you want in their place.

I sort of agree with you in the big picture sense.

But are you telling me the vast majority would not swap out 'This I Love' for 'Yesterdays'?  Or 'Sorry' or 'Catcher' for 'Used To Love Her'?

    yeah

    it is nice

but we all know there are 4 too many people on it

and there are 2 guys missing

    hope this is a step

    for the day

    that we will have

    five guys on the photo

    -- the five guys!

You want Five Guys...go buy a burger.

The show the other night was tremendous.  You are missing out with this "brave" and "righteous" stance.

  5. XFinity Live will be packed as shit though.  Always is for a big event.  Been there many times.

Last time was before Pearl Jam in April.  You could barely move.  And that was for a concert about 40% of what GNR's crowd will be.

Getting a table is total luck of the draw too.  To make a long story short (too late) I would not put all my eggs in that basket.

Was that the Philly show where they played 10 in its entirety ?Such a great band live ,every show is completely different and they play for 3 plus hours

    Yeah, it was incredible.

Someone else in the box got the setlist ahead of time.  I believed it, by my buddy didn't.  But by the time they started 'Alive', we knew.

I really don't thi we're getting an opener at this point. Just a complete guess, but that's what I'm thinking.

    I wonder.

I just saw Pearl Jam on Friday night.  Ticket listed at 8PM, and they came on about 8:40PM.  No opener.

My Philly ticket says 8:30.  Could that mean they come on like 9:15-9:30, with no opener?

  8. They run that like a military operation.

You are only allotted 12 minutes, and that is strictly enforced.  They make you practice getting on and off the field in time with people standing in fro the crowd that day.

You are required to attend media day and answer a bunch of dumb ass question.  Doesn't matter who you are.  The Stones and Paul McCartney had to do it.

Do these sound like things Axl would do?

Outside of the forum I've seen some positive reviews from fb/blabbermouth pages / users that have been bashing them for years. "That was actually pretty good" "I take back what I said" basically the back peddeling has begun... If Axl can keep his voice in check, get on stage in time and they don't become a nostalgia act (not including this tour) things could actually look up for gnr.

I agree its been weird to see.  Welcome, but weird.

The only thing that I think will fuck them is late times or if Axl has some sort of meltdown.  That will cue up some of the "same old bullshit with this guy" talk.
