  1. Guys, please refrain from making using Nazi or Hitler references to people on other boards. Feel free to offer up criticism (and compliments) of any GNR forum (including this one), but let's drop the Nazi references.

    Thanks!

    Yeah, that's kind of nuts.

We're talking about a rock band on the internet. No one's committed mass murder here.

  2. the admins at HTGTH are Nazis. They ban anyone that says anything negative about the band. That's probably why it's so dead over there

It's why its dead over there, yes, but they don't ban that easily.

The problem is not bans, its the having to accept some of the false narratives. Some can't do it. Like how Axl's voice sounds just fine (if not better!), so what are you talking about?

Or having themselves referred to as "fans" but only in "quotes".

  3. Good job, OP!

Skipped right at the part where Axl thrashes Izzy on stage night after night.

Not only a compulsive liar and a back-stabbing person but always bitter and full of hate. Axl is definitely one of a kind!

...and has been since day one.

If something happened where all the sudden you chose to have a problem with it after turning a blind eye for however long, isn't that a bit odd?

  4. Is this true, that he used to be pro-Slash before being put on the payroll. This is the tenure of that cartoon, which I cannot seem to locate.

/jarmo and team Brazil reported the YouTube and got it taken down :violin:

Here today gone to tool was so funny

    Seriously?

If so, what a lame move. GnR has to be the most un-fan-friendly band in the world.

If the band isn't going to release an Illusions documentary then why would they care if some fan put together a bunch of stuff about it?

If the band had anything to do with this being taken down, this move should go in their top 10 incidents of f*cking the fans. FANS OF THE BAND.

Whomever got this video taken down is a POS. No joke.

It was a cartoon that mocked the shit out of Jarmo, personally. It wasn't exactly high brow.

Nor have much to do with the fans.

  5. It was fascinating to see the entire St. Louis incident.

I didn't know about the back story. The biker guy interrupting the show, giving Axl his card, harassing other fans and the security not doing anything about it because they were friends with the bikers. That is a lot of context to leave out of the story that everybody knows about.

Axl didn't handle it correctly or professionally.

BUT at least we know now why he did it. And he shouldn't be as vilified as he did for starting the riot - he actually had a reason for leaving the stage. He shouldn't shoulder all the blame for that.

He was fucking nuts jumping in the crowd like that. Horrendous decision making.

  6. It took me over three months to complete. I started it right after I uploaded the song premiere's video. I think it's safe to say that I'm the biggest 17yo G N' R fan if I took all that time to make this haha! Enjoy!

This whole thing was really, really cool.

I obviously knew all the facts from over the years. And with some, I have the audio bootlegs. But I had never seen video of some of these events.

Really great job. Very interesting watch for any hardcore fan that loved that tour as I did.

  7. Hey D-Gen, it's been a long time. Those were some funny days back on Boerio's mailing list. Remember when my brother broke into my email account and sent off a private email I had sent to my girlfriend at the time? Fuck, that was super embarrassing... Nice hearing from you. I hope you post here more often going forward. You were always one of my favourite contributors on the old mailing list.

    Hahaha. I do recall that.

I was actually just talking about the DNB mailing list over at HTGTH when one of the younger guys was asking about the "dive in and find the monkey" fax.

I still recall going to the college library to check my mail that day. Had literally hundreds of new e-mails, for the first time ever. I did not go to one class that day. Sat through and read them all. I was not making any friends in the library either, as people waiting for the computer could not help but notice I was not using any books or anything, and was pretty clearly not doing any school work.

  8. downzy is right about Jarmo for the most part.

I was also on Jeff's mailing list back in college, and I do recall Jarmo on there. Jarmo, Lars, Kirk...most were good people. And I can also confirm that Jarmo pretty much was always a pretty solid positive fan.

I have taken to posting at HTGTH a lot over the past year or so. And I have to be honest, his rep does not match up with what I see. If what a lot of people swear was true was the truth, I'd have been gone in a week. I don't go over there just to throw bombs, but I sure as shit have no problem being critical. And Jarmo loathes me too. Yet despite that, I have never been suspended, threatened, or even warned. I am pretty much allowed to say what I want.

You know before you go there what the deal is. So if you choose to post there, you can't credibly claim unfair surprise.

If I have a beef, its the complete lack of any levity. We are talking about a god damn rock band here. But everything is treated like SERIOUS BUSINESS. That's what I find crazy. That, and the overly emotional defenses. I can see defending an artist you like. But not with a tone of a mother who's kid is getting picked on in the recess yard. That, I can't relate to.

End of the day, its a much more relaxed and fun time here. But if you actually want to talk about the current situation, you sort of have to go there.

  9. HTGTH has a fame for a reason. There was a point where any post with a negative tone towards Axl was deleted. Why do you think it's so dead? That forum is the remains of a dictatorship. Jarmo is not a dictator anymore simply because the forum has 4 or 5 regular posters... People lost interest in disagreeing with him.

Lack of dissent is why its dead. We all know this.

But there are ways to do it and ways not to. "Axl is fat so fuck him and his cash grab bullshit" is going to get deleted there. And it should. Where does that conversation really go?

  10. HTGTH has a worse reputation than what goes on there in actual practice.

If everything that was said about Jarmo was true, I'd have been gone in a week. But I've been posting there for a year, and hardly with the assumed stepford level of devotion that is said to be required.

This place is fun, but not serious. I actually do still happed to be interested in what the band is doing and their future plans. To talk about that, you have to post at HTGTH. I get a lot of laughs reading here, but how many posts about "Fat Axl" and "$la$h" do you have to wade through to talk about something real?

  11. Why are people talking about the recent tours? The question was directed towards the UYI tour 91-93. Where the setlists were actually varied, especially the '91 part of the tour. Each leg was different.

We all know DJ and Dizzy bullshit about how unpredicitable their show is, but the original question isnt geared towards that.

Early summer 1991 was. But even by the Euro leg later that summer, it was fairly set.

And was farily set on each subsequent leg. Maybe 2 or 3 songs got reordered, but there wasn't this wild variation.

  12. They have a setlist. It exists and is sent around the band and crew members. A few fans have obtained copies of these setlists. ''No setlist'' is a pure and simple lie.

You're lying. Let me calmly explain to the forum why your posts in this thread should now be dismissed.

Guns N' Roses does not have a setlist. A setlist is a set list of songs that get played in the exact order as on the sheet. Guns N' Roses does not have this. What their sheet is, is a list of songs rehearsed and ready to be played depending on how Axl is doing. The order gets switched around, some songs don't get played, etc. That would not be the case with a setlist.

    So why such little variation?

Why is CD-WTTJ-ISE-MB the first 4 songs?

Why is YCBM-SCOM-NR the middle of the show?

Why is KOHD-NT the end before the encore?

How come SCOM doesn't happene earlier? Why is YCBM never real late?

    Because there is a setlist.

  13. I have never seen my theory that Axl is a complete tossspot seriously challenged. All these band members - all 21 of them - producers, ex-managers, girlfriends, cannot all be lying. In tosser stakes, Axl is up there with Gene Simmons and Ted Nugent, but, slightly behind Gary Glitter, for 'rock's biggest wanker'.

    C'mon, Axl never molested anybody.

  14. How hard could this be? How much time could it take?

Spend a weekend listening to all the songs in the vault and pick out the best 20.

Send those to your bandmates and let them vote on which 5 they think are the strongest.

Take your 15 best songs and send them to your label.

That shouldn't take a year to do.

This implies you are actually trying to get it done though.

He could have done any of this long before now.

  15. Absolutely horrendous. The closest I have ever came to giving up on this band permanently and the most I have ever wanted a reunion. Thanks for sharing though.

Ah, so where were you the night of the VMA debacle? On another planet, I'm assuming.

Right here appreciating that as bad as it was, at least it wasn't Rio III bad.

    Oh, I disagree.

Not only was RIR III not that bad, it wasn't on national U.S. television.

I have to believe that next day was one of the rougher ones for GNR fans. It was for me. A bunch of calls and e-mails saying "um...what the hell was that?"
