'Welcome To The Jungle' is their definitive song.
If you had to introduce them to someone that never heard a note, it would not be 'Estranged'. And I love that tune. Top 5 alltime tune for me.
But best ever? Nah. Its WTTJ.

You're here since 2002, maybe even more and you still talk outta your ass. wHAT? you really think it's all Axl ego? it mostly is, but it's also about creating the music he wanted to create. It's high expectations cause he really thought he could change Slash cause Ax;'s vision was all that. It's standard msuciain sickness. It's not like Axl did something orginaial here: he wanted to make everyone else believe in whaever the fuck he believe is musically. That quality/outcome is not even relvevant. Axl though that after afd "it worked" now they will do as I say cause I'm the leader! nope. people want what they want and slash was interested in same shit he always was.
Don't church it up. Axl is a crazy person.
That's the problem. Not conflict of "vision".

Yeah, he's not doing it for the money. Get the fuck outta here with that shit.
All bands at that level are VERY conscious of the money.
Velvet Revolver would have been called Guns N' Roses if they could have.
Don't fool yourselves.

Fuck, It's just like before the HOF with the reunionists and their delusions. Once it doesn't happen they'll curse Axl and storm off again.
Yep.
As they all swear they aren't getting their hopes up, just like the did before the HOF.
SPOILER ALERT : they are getting their hopes up
-
After the storm off and pouting job he pulled in 2008, he's crazier than even his biggest detractors could suggest if he thinks they will put serious money behind this.
Craziest thing? The easiest promotion is free. He calls 'Rolling Stone' and offers them an interview, he's on the cover. And everyone is talking about it.

I was torn between "kind of given up" and "songs aren't actually completed".
Ultimately, I think its more the former than the latter. I think the latter has some validity, but I think he's truly lost a lot of his fire for the project.
-
Its my favorite song on the album, but never got the overromantacizing of this demo. Without that guitar outro, this is half a song.
-
I would agree with this.
The fact that its shoulder shrug city whenever someone leaves and they just plug the next guy in supports this.
-
Why is Ashba writing stuff that sounds like classic Guns N' Roses? What happened with "Axl vision" and wanting to "move forward" and "evolve our sound"?
Legit question.
Would an 'Its So Easy' type tune have fit on CD? Not really.
-
I wonder if that in some ways was the beginning of the end, so to speak. I'm sure it affected the overall positive vibe they were riding at the time.
Hard to see it that way, considering they were never bigger than they were in 1991-92.
-
Lack of songs is not our problem. It’s just getting into the studio.
Door has been jammed for the last five years or what ?
Those answers are so preposterous. As if there are armed guards keeping them out.

I have never believed these guys were making huge coin.
From where? Where is the money coming from?

I can't wait for the official statements that Stinson, Ferrer and Thal have left so Axl can write some more epic rants about how they all hindered the release of new music
They refused to dive in and find the monkey.

Ask him if Sixx AM switches their show up every night because Nikki likes to keep them on their toes.
-
99% chance Axl just put Trunk on the epic list of people who are Out Ta Get him.
Yep.
He'll never get another interview again.
-
Frank is still in GNR according to facebook.
We should double check with Wikipedia.

Trunk must have his reasons for believing something is going on. I can't see it happening though. I can't see Slash ever coming back, besides his past issues with Axl the guy has a really successful solo career. With the rumours of Tommy and Frank out of the band maybe Duff and Matt would come back. In some ways I could see Tommy leaving - The Replacements probably have a new record coming out and it's his band whereas in GN'R he's primarily playing someone else's parts. The thing is though that I don't see Duff doing the SA dates as an indication that he'd happily come back full time. It was probably a fun novelty for him to play the old songs again with Axl. I can't see him sicking around doing the same show until the end of time.
Yeah, but they change the show up every night. You never know what can happen at a GNR concert. Axl likes to keep them on their toes.
-
So some idiot whines about the same shit we whine about daily, presents it in a style that is straight rehash with nothing original or funny added and you link it here why? We are 10 million times better at bashing Axl than this dipshit will ever be at anything in his life.
Yeah, the biggest crime this thing commits is that its not terribly well written or all that funny.
-
Yeah but this way, everyone here can keep saying how amazing Ron is, how good he is to the fans, how they wish Ron could escape evil Axl and mount his legendary, huge, world-dominating solo career.I am bored with Ron's crap. For gawd's sake sir, make a fuckin' decision: in or out?
Simple fact is that Ron made no money before Axl hired him, and he'll make no money if he leaves GNR. It's easy for people here to cheer Ron that he should "go solo" and travel the world playing tiny bars to 5 or 6 people, but for Ron, why would he go back to being penniless and unheard?
True.
I had never even heard of this guy prior to 5-12-2006. And if he left, would never hear from him again.
-
Didn't the Stones do that as well? That's fuckin' cool when bands care enough about their fans to do that..I'd check out a small show. Hope they come to AtlantaFuck yeah! This band just keeps on going and going and getting better and better. There is no end to their evolution. Fucking iconic. Te music world has never seen such an unstoppable force. Axl's better now than hes ever been. Can't wait to see them tour again.
Speaking of better bands. Did you see that U2 is planning a "double tour", where they will play in the same city 2 nights in a row, one show being big and more hits-oriented, and another one, more intimate, including deep cuts and rare stuff? Loved the idea. I hope they do it!
Now, back to almost dead cover bands....
Stones did it on their 40 Lick tour, I believe.
Hits show in the big venue, deeper cuts show in a smaller one, both in the same town.

A full reunion would do great business.
But it would have done great business for the past 10-15 years now. If Axl didn't give a shit before, why now?

Classic Band - Dead Flowers
New Band - The Seeker

Always really liked his voice and they did have some super catchy hooks.
But, a total product of that brief point in time. I am 37, so I grew up on that genre. I would not take issue with anyone that did not grow up on it, give it a listen and say its not for them.
To this day, Skid Row and Twisted Sister are 2 of my favorite bands due to when I grew up. But I would not hold them up as examples of genius.

If duff comes back I would like Matt back. I found they clicked very well in gnr and vrWhile I never expect to See Slash on stage with Axl again, there does appear to be a lot of smoke about Ron, Tommy and Frank taking off to actually be musicians again
would not be surprised to see more lineup changes come next year
and if i cant ever see the original band together again..id still love to see DUFF come back full time, always has and always will be my favorite member, hes actually a real person unlike some of the other characters involved
But its never going to be an "everyone but Slash" set-up. Those guys are still Slash's friend. They would not be onboard with doing that fulltime, I don't think.
All the moreso if they had to look at DJ and rationalize why they are somehow not just calling their buddy back up, who would be appreciably better. It would make no sense to them.
BIGGEST CONCERN: the SETLIST!
in CIVIL WAR
Posted
Absolutely.
Look at the reaction he got for unearthing 'Yesterdays'. Or 'Esstanged' and 'Civil War' the tour previously.
Now, serious question, is "HOLY SHIT!! They played 'If The World'!!!!" a thing that is ever going to be said?
