rawpowerocks Posted January 28, 2011 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Does any body know if the Guns N' Roses "Destruction, Lies: The Road To Illusion" limited edition box set (cat number GED24434 or GEFD24434) was ever officially released in the UK or was this only available in Germany?By my research (looking around on the internet) every thing seems to look like it was only released in Germany and not the UK but can any body out there confirm this? One that has the November Rain 12" vinyl picture disc and another that has a November Rain CD single with the same image as the vinyl picture disc on it (this one is rarer). The reason I am trying to find this out is because I am going to be selling off all my unofficial or import stuff.All I want to keep is the official UK released stuff.This box set does have made on Germany printed on it but that only means it was made in Germany it still might have been sold in UK.See for some reason I have it in my head that I saw this box set for sale in my local Our Price shop back in the day which is making me think this was a UK release as well but it was many years ago and my memory could be wrong. I remember seeing one for sale in a Specialist Music store here in Australia back in the 1990's. But I am pretty sure they simply imported it themselves (they did that with a lot of music stuff this store) and I am confident it was never officially released here. So I guess what I am saying is even though you may have seen it for sale in the UK it may not have actually been an official release there.Have you got the old Record Collector magazine discography that listed the UK releases? It's like how you can buy a shirt at teh store but it says Made In China on the tag. Still, personally I would not regard this as a UK release. And there seems to be lots of other Europe region items that say Made In Spain, Made In Holland, Made in the UK, etc. Who knows!
