Has anyone else heard this?

Rumor has it, the 3 will admit guilt and in turn be credited with time served. I'll be interested in seeing what happens at the emergency hearing tomorrow.

I've never thought these guys were guilty, and I hope they are released, but if they have to admit guilt to get freed, that is just fucked up.

How does that even work? Admitting guilt to get released?

Yeah...WTF......look I have my own have ideas on the case, think tons of shit was fucked, but they did admit guilt initially.

Interesting to see how this plays out.

thanks for the thread.

"They" didn't admit guilt, only stupid Jessie Misskelley did... and barely, he just agreed with what cops were saying. Most plausible way that the crime was committed, to me : http://www.wm3blackboard.com/forum/index.php?topic=2386.0

but yes, confessing to a murder is a messed up what to get released. Hopefully the boys stick with their guns n' evidence for the december trial and put Terry Hobbs in the can for all the bullshit he's been stirring.

Natalie Maines sent this link on Twitter this afternoon. She had known about it since the 12th but couldn't confirm it. She also stands by her comment about Terry Hobbs that got her in trouble a couple of years ago.

WM3 leave prison with all belongings; source says they are not expected back

Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley, Jr. have been taken from their cells in the Arkansas Department of Correction and are being transported to Jonesboro, for tomorrow’s hearing. An official of the ADC reported that they left with all their belongings, which is unusual and suggests that they are not expected back. This is the first time all three have left prison together.

I heard that what is going to happen is that they will be granted a retrial on lesser charges (i'm guessing involuntary manslaughter) and will agree to plea guilty to these charges, and in turn will be credited with time served. Since there will still be a conviction, the WM3 will not be able to sue the state for false imprisonment, will be unable to participate in any book or movie deals, & basically will not be able to profit from their ordeal at all. If it's true, then, IMO, the guys are getting screwed again just to get released. I can totally understand why they would agree to this, it may be their only way out, but it's pretty shitty that they will still be convicted killers.

I, for one, will be watching @ 11 am tomorrow to see what actually goes down.

Amazing that one of the kid's fathers was just on CNN screaming about how the WM3 are innocent and shouldnt be in jail. Good on him for keeping a level head.

Yeah, then you have Steve Branch, father of Stevie Branch, talking about how there is no safe place for Echols to go. He's convinced the WM3 are guilty apparently....

The gag order has been lifted, so now I can tell you, I'm sitting in a holding room at the courthouse about to see three men walk free! All 3 boys will be set free today and all 3 are completely innocent. They must plead guilty as a technicality so they can't sue [the state of Arkansas] for $$.

If they didn't make the documentary, and the celebs like Vedder, Depp and others who kept putting this in the limelight, they'd be dead by now.

Everything changed once the parents of the kids started siding with the WM3, and the DNA evidence, which the judge tried to block. This was a travesty of a case and until someone can come forth with a clear conscience and fess up to it, there will never be closure. Justice wasn't served, and the WM3 going free is bittersweet. At least they're not going to be dead men walking like Casey Anthony has a bullseye on her back.

That is just fucked up. They plea guilty but get to maintain their innocence. The state even acknowledges that the current judge would have likely granted a retrial and the state wouldn't have been able to get another conviction. So, they get out, but get no financial compensation for the 18 years they spent locked up. Atleast they are finally out though....

I think the freedom is worth more than a dollar ammount :)

That's debatable. How are they going to financially survive? I prob would've taken that deal too, just to get released, but it's still seriously fucked up. I am glad they are finally free though, it's long overdue.
