Heading off to see Nik Wallenda attempt to tightrope walk over Niagara Falls

Subtle Signs

lol, in the midst of endless "Thank you Jesus, Thank you God, how I praise you Jesus"s, he was asked a question about how the harness felt, and he said, "It's fine, but I just feel like a jackoff, errr, jackass, wearing it. Thank you Jesus, Praise you Jesus."

Not that I can blame the guy for anything he says or feels, but it was a funny juxtaposition and I wonder if he'll get yelled at for saying that later.

I applaud the physical achievement,wholeheartedly...but,a tether?

meh..

I was underwhelmed, wasn't worried for the guy at all.

Glad I didn't drive down for it. :shrugs:

He didn't want the tether either, but it was the only way he got financial support from ABC. Now hopefully they will be able to work with him in the future and maybe make it a little more dangerous.

He said the Grand Canyon is up next, I'll watch that one for sure also.

It was fun enough to watch on TV, but I'm glad I didn't drive out to the Falls for it.

I wasn't worried for the guy's safety either, but it was a remarkable accomplishment regardless of the harness. Not just because of the distance, but also because of the strong wind and all the water. The thing that surprises me the most is that he didn't appear to have any eye protection whatsoever, I don't know how the the mist and spray didn't affect his vision.

I agree.

Being tethered takes away all the excitement. I would attempt to do it - if I knew I couldn't get hurt. Would I try it without a tether? Not in a million years. Without the risk of death.......
