Georgy Zhukov
I didn't think The Two Towers was THAT bad. Strayed far from the book though, Faramir wanting the Ring and Elves at Helm's Deep. I prefer the extended edition because it really fleshes things out. The Fellowship of the Ring and The Return of the King were better films though. Ian McKellen also gave a better performance. Maybe because when he was Gandalf the White he was more bad ass and wasn't as fucked up on Shire Leaf. Generally the extended cuts are way better. I like the additional scene where merry and pip are caught in the tree in fangorn and treebeard saves them with the exact same words Tom Bombadil uses to save them in the book. Thats a nice reference. I don't even remember the theatrical version, the Extended was a huge improvement. I agree it was nice they gave some of Tom's lines to Treebeard. Some fans were really upset they left that out in the first film.I thought 2 had some, good scenes (the dragon), but then again, I don't remember much. It's a shame, they had great casting and some great acting. They are just visually awful, and I agree they won't age well. 3 is like a cartoon with nonstop, boring action. I also hate what they did to Legolas and hated Alfrid. The second film was good until they got to the Lake-Town scene. I don't mind Bard and his family, but I just wish they get to the damn mountain already. The film really picked up with Smaug, but instead of wasting their time with a set piece of the Dwarves vs. Smaug, just have Smaug fly out and burn the town. Dan H.
The Smaug/Biblo dialogue was great. Only good thing from the second film. Then they go and ruin it with that awful fight scene between the Dwarves and Smaug lol
