***Flawless
Haven't seen DoS, but I just rewatched The Hobbit due to my cousin's love for it and the CGI for Azog was so painfully overdone. He looked so out of place amongst the environments and such.
The Sandman
Also, I think I'll be getting the Collector's Edition of the Hobbit book and the 50th Anniversary collection of the all-in-one LotR books for Christmas.I did get these for Christmas Looking forward to reading them My missus got what I assume is the same bundle - but I think she's managed about a chapter from the audiobook in the last four years or so - so I hold little hope

Powerage5
Haven't seen this yet, but think I will this weekend. How quick do you read books? Honestly, I'd recommend reading the book first, but maybe that's just me
Iron MikeyJ
I would recommend not reading the book, it seems to create friction with the whole book vs movie. If you go watch the movie, with little to no knowledge of the book, it seems to be a more enjoyable experience. Just my opinion.
Black Sabbath
I don't get caught up in the whole "book vs movie" arguments, so I'm not worried about it. I typically enjoy both on different levels.

rocknroll41
fucking hated the first Hobbit film and I hated this one too (though not as much). The only reason I went to see it was Benedict Cumberbatch (I'll admit that his performance was cool and the dragon looked cool, but was dragged out for WAY too long!). Chances are I'm not even going to bother with the third one Edited December 31, 2013 by rocknroll41

Powerage5
Did the book even have large scale battles? Yes. BO5A was in the book.It wasn't as big a deal as it seems the film will make it though. The Battle of Dol Guldur, however, wasn't directly written about - only mentioned.
rocknroll41
That trailer felt really stupid to me. This trilogy hasn't felt anything at all like The Hobbit in my opinion

AtariLegend
I loved the original Rings Trilogy. The major problem with the series to me though is the fact since this was split into 3 films, meaning this is essentially going to be the 3rd time in 6 films where the Eagles have showed up and solved a no win scenario. Rescued Gandalf from Isengard2. Rescued Frodo and Sam from Mount Doom3. Rescued the Company from the goblins in the Misty Mountains4.
