Georgy Zhukov
John Williams and James Horner are my two favorites. Someone above mentioned "Avatar"...that one is beautiful. It has some breathtaking moments.Hans Zimmer is very good, too, although familiar themes of his seem to come out in every score. James Newton Howard has a few good ones. Alexandre Desplat needs to be mentioned; his scores for the King's Speech and Benjamin Button have a very simple beauty to them. Nicola Piovani wrote a beautiful score for "Life is Beautiful." Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings soundtrack needs a mention here as well. Finally, Randy Newman wrote a pretty powerful score for "Seabiscuit."Ok, I love movie soundtracks a lot. A lot.Desplat, Piovani and Newman are all great.I actually had Piovani's Life is Beautiful and Morricone's Malena in my head today.
