ZoSoRose
WowAlthough when you think about it, the Wii U has been out for 3ish years already
LightningBolt
Nintendo announced this in the same conference where they unveiled their mobile gaming plans with some company I forget the name of. The announcement came across mostly as an assurance to fans that they wouldn't be completely converting to the mobile market (duh) and that they still had future plans of making dedicated video game systems. We know absolutely nothing about what the NX is and it's entire possible and I think likely that it's the successor to the 3DS and not the Wii U. The 3DS is already 4 years old, so a late 2016 release or 2017 release for the next handheld console would make sense relative to previous lifespans of those consoles. Of course it might be the next home console, and it might be both (I think Nintendo is going to try to have both consoles very closely related/compatible next gen). But yeah this announcement, I think, was just preemptive quelling of fears that they may be moving on from dedicated video game hardware. We won't hear about this console at all in 2015. The very soonest I could see us learning any concrete details about it is January 2016 when Nintendo does their yearly big-ish Nintendo Direct, but even then I'm not counting on hearing anything until maybe E3 2016. downzy
How Iwata still has his job is beyond me.
Mysteron
I like portability in a console. I really hope Nintendo can come up with something different
