The Gift

I know Gone Girl was very popular around here so I gotta' recommend this flick as found it to be very much in the same vein. Lots of nods to Hitchcock and classic flicks like Fatal Attraction and Unlawful Entry while still being quite fresh and full of twists and turns:

Gone Girl is really interesting and well done, even if it's one of Fincher's weaker films, but it's far and away a class above The Gift.

That being said, it was pretty solid, if a bit simplistic.

Pretty much my thoughts. Recommended for a viewing, but nothing that I'm greatly looking to watch again like I did Gone Girl.

I think a big part of Gone Girl's problem is that Ben Afleck - outside of Good Will Hunting - is a horrific actor. Imagine how much better Gone Girl might've been with Leo DiCaprio or someone even remotely competent as an actor in that role instead.
