DirtyDeeds
That's another thing I don't like... this whole image/competition with other rapper/ fight shit. It's stupid with any band (Axl vs. Vince). What's with this crap? Music isn't a competition. It's not a fecking game. It just seems like there's so much of it in rap. There's enough bullshit in the world, and especially enough in fucking high school. I want to leave the drama behind me when I listen to music, not add to it. Rick
I do really dislike some hip hop, especially the artists. Some of it seems so fake. However, there are some absoloutely awesome hip hop songs that I love and I don't mind having a quick dance to if i've drunk a suitable amount of alcohol.R. swlabr
No offense to people here, but a lot of you guys are so very narrow-minded. Of course I respect your musical tastes but come on ! I have to say that me and Spoon are the people most into Hip-Hop. Not all of it is about Guns, Cars, Rims, Hoes and Killing. That's what mainstream rap is. Listen to the not so mainstream stuff. Nas, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Immortal Techinque, Grand Master Flash. I don't like Sugar Hill Gang. They did bring Hip Hop mainstream but they have no Cred to their name. Tupac is great. Yes he did become a slight bit popular due to his tragic death but he spoke the truth, he lived the life and exposed us to it. We then knew what was happening in their lives. Nas is a great lyricist. Yes imo, better than Axl. He writes about life on the streets, the struggles, his life, his mom, his family. The music is just another way of expressing themselves. Just like Jimi Hendrix used the guitar to show his feelings along with his lyrics. The same way Axl Rose writes about a Coma he went through and how he wishes he could have stayed there and not return to his probelms. That's what music is ! Something that touches you. It opens a new window for us to look through. Opens doors for the people struggling. It's a lifesyle and yes. I dont give a fuck who you are ! You gotta respect it. I was a fan of Hip Hop music way before I've even heard of Guns N' Roses and Hip Hop, beleive it or not, has a special place in my heart. I know that at the moment I'm having a good life. That people before me have had it worse. I respect these rappers for that. So to anyone who hasn't botheres to listen to rap and say it sucks, Yo suck! Open your fuckin' eyes and listen to some good music..

wasted
I like some Hip Hop for the agressive vibe and some of those joints are good for romancing a lady. But as far relating to the songs. Like Straight Outta Compton is a stornin' tune but I can't say I relate to it. But music for me is enertainment, so its all good. 50 Cent is this other I'm interested in but I'm not sure where he's coming from. But music is music.
