RNRS
I don't want to hear IRS because I know he won't be able to pull off that scream live and probably won't be able to keep up with the song at all if it's the middle of a performance and he's already tired. And how would you know? He pulled of such a scream during Live And Let Die during the 2002 tours, so there goes argument. Why someone would prefer Oh My God over I.R.S. is beyond me. Guest Matt13
I think we're going to hear a majority of new tunes. My bet is they only fit the following 'old' songs into the setlist:WTTJ (open, of course)SCOMNRLALDBrownstoneNightrain& PC (close, of course)I would love to hear them pull of SFTD, but I highly doubt they'll do that. It's time to let go of the past and many of us have to accept that. From what I've heard of the new stuff, I have no problem with that what-so-ever, and I think it would help the folks that can't accept them as GNR finally, as GNR if they play 80% new material that the new guys wrote together.I think that's they're intention anyway. The new guys aren't going to want to play a majority of old songs to live off of. They're in this for their work, not the old guys work.PS- why did this get moved? Seems like a pertinent conversation to what's been going on with the tour dates being announced. Edited February 22, 2006 by Matt13
F*ck Fear
I think the set list would rock,if they changed it up every night, but look like this.Welcome To The Jungle (best way to open a killer show IMO) It's So Easy Mr.Brownstone (The way it was played at Rio 3 in 2001) Live And Let Die (Never was a fan of it from the old line up,but Axl changed that in 2002) Knockin' On Heaven's Door - New Song - - New Song - Sweet Child O' Mine - New Song - Madagascar November Rain IRS The Blues Chinese Democracy There Was A Time - New Song - - New Song - Nightrain Better Paradise City (Best way to end a killer show IMO)

Nightcrawler
Will GNR add new songs to the new sets coming up in June? I think Axl might. Remember back to when GNR toured before UYI was released, they added something like 8 songs to the set. We already have 4 from rio and the last tour, 4 more? They don't have to be from this album, he has 30 some songs done he could play b-sides.Also, If this IRS is official "bootleg" the way things suggest and the soundtrack rumor is true we could be looking as far off as september for the new album... Remember before UYI was released bad apples was leaked to radio and they toured with 8 new songs in january, A soundtrack single and VMA performance in summer then and the album didn't hit stores until sept. There is no reason to think he'd do the same thing again, but sept is the 15th anniversary of the UYI release. SlashisGOD
I think they have to. If they play the same ones, people will be a little disappointed.
Nightcrawler
Bad Apples Was Leaked Onto The Radio In 1991?Yes, an unfinished mix. I don't know if it was before the Jan tour or closer to summer though, but it was before the album by a good amount of time.I wonder if they'll add an american date before all this? GooseKiller
Bad Apples Was Leaked Onto The Radio In 1991? Yes, but it was a really shitty mix.
eschman
Yeah, but they actually had singles, too. When was Civil War released? It was right before their AMA appearance where Slash cussed all of the time.
G n F n R
I'll be pissed if they don't. They should play just as many or more songs from Chinese Democracy as they do from AFD and the UYI's
firecrown
They better play mostly new songs. And it would be wise to release CD before they hit the concert circuit to inspire a good fan reaction. I personally don't like hearing the new incarnation of GNR cover too many of the old bands songs. It's like listening to a tribute band who's trying to live the former glory that was established and trademarked by Slash, Duff and Izzy; even though Axl is still there. It's good but not great. It's tough to beat the original line up at their own game. The modern day Axl crew needs to unleash the fresh stuff in a major way.

Alan Niveen
Firecrown is right. They sound like a cover band when they play the old stuff. If the line-up hasn't been modified, they should play mainly the new songs.

Now if members did rejoin the band, do whatever the fuck you want. I just hope CD can win over my heart like the other albums did.
