Well in my mind the three all-time greatest drummers in rock have been:

1. Keith Moon

2. John Bonham

3. Mitch Mitchell

My favorite drummer on today's scene is Joshua Eppard from Coheed and Cambria.

After looking at your avatar, I thought you might put John Densmore on the list.

My top three is what it is.

John Densmore is criminally underrated though, for example just listen to his inventive contributions to "Break On Through (To the Other Side)".

It's a shame that he isn't a part of the new group with Astbury.

I've always loved Moon, so I can't put anyone above him.

Bonham did make LZ though, he was the greatest musician in the group.

well the best musician id have to go w/ Jonesey but yes he was the signature of zep. and i believe page is an amazing musician so that says a lot about Jonesey and Bonzo. but still as a musician i dont know maybe if you put it like bonham was as good of a drummer as jimmy was a guitar player. yeah i can agree w/ you on that. but i still say Jonesey

Do you say JPJ because of his versatility? There is a point in that, and it's good to hear someone talk about him because he is rarely given due praise.

The reason I think Bonzo made the group is from listening to live performances, he just pushed the music to fever pitch night in and night out, and they truly could not have gone on without him.

Indeed, The Who went the other way and met disastrous results.

I agree with you on that one as well.

And to stay with the drummer topic, GNR wasn't the same without Adler either.

deffinently not. they had such more of a signature drum sound. but honestly just what ive heared seems like most people like Matt???

oh and sorry for going off topic. but im back on now

keith moon was a one of a kind drummer. i always thought he wasthe lead in the who because if you think about it Pete wasnt a big solo player he did more rhythm sounds.

he was a character to. i have At the isle of white i know thats not how you spell it but he is just so cool and funny to watch

Matt is fairly popular here, I like him in Velvet Revolver but not in GNR.

Don't worry about going off-topic, we all do it.

Moon was the greatest in my opinion, he probably could have been considered the main soloist in the group, along with John as well! A very crazy rhythm section they had.

Thunder Fingers.

i have to agree that he has the most unique type of drumming style. if you listen when most drummers go left to right or right to left he goes back to front and front to back on his set.

amazing
