nameless_girl
I get the fact that you couldn't let a whole bunch of splendid songwriters make that list, but forgetting people like Dylan, Springsteen or Cohen? That just confuses me so much.

T Patten
Jagger & Richards...It's a show up that people can compare great songwriters with poor songwriters like Noel Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft, Jagger & Riffhard wrote the best lyrics ever for Sympathy For The Devil in my opinion. bax
No Dylan,Waters,Page/Plant,Hendrix-I could go on. Most of the best songwriters in rock history are missing. You can't really seperate Lennon/McCartney-The songs they wrote together are superior to all of their solo efforts, although they both did great stuff after the Beatles.I love Izzy, but for him to be leading is ridiculous. At least no one voted for Bon Jovi. Malicious Matt
I love Izzy, but for him to be leading is ridiculous. No its not. I voted Izzy.
gnrrulz
I love Izzy, but for him to be leading is ridiculous. No its not. I voted Izzy.Yes it is...White Album, Sgt. Pepper> Anything Izzy wrote for GNR. GNR is great(wouldn't be here if they weren't) but in a competition purely based on writing its no competition. GNR was covering their songs not the other way around. (had the beatles still been around I doubt they would be playing WTTJ )
worldwideboss
I love Izzy, but for him to be leading is ridiculous.Izzy is one of the best songwriters of our generation and the way he is underrated is incredible. His solo stuff is proof of his geniality.

bax
You can't argue taste, but no one but a GN'R fanatic with no sense of history and little musical interest outside of hard rock would think for a moment that Izzy wrote deeper, more meaningful songs than Dylan, Lennon/McCartney, or Roger Waters to name but a few.
