jaypayton
maybe Axl is not 100percent confident in the album...thats why its taken over 10 years and 13 million dollars to record..thats why he only plays a couple new songs.......thats why it gets delayed over and over and over again...Maybe Axl is afraid of ruining his image if the album sucks........If this album flops it will signal the end of his career and maybe he is just scared to release it because once its out there, its out there for eternity...... Lukinx
I actually think fear is a factor. And I am no n00b when it comes to GN´R.

fantomas
I think the real reason is because he's changed musical styles and it's really blue grass country. I'd be scared too.
bax
I agree that it is definitely a factor. With each passing year anticipation grows and it gets more likely that Axl will not be able to measure up to the absolute perfection the fans want and deserve after this wait. Leigh-Rok!
Axl will not be able to measure up to the absolute perfection the fans want and deserve after this wait.Want, yes. Deserve, no. ags_rule
With every passing year it's yet another mark on the myth of the album, and yet another year to add to the tally when the inevitable bad reviews come, asking was it really worth the *Insert number of years* wait? Axl should release this as soon as possible, preferably this year or very early next year, if he wants to keep some credibility.

busngabb
He's 100% correct.Axl should have released the album years ago and it should certainly have come out in 2002.The fact that it's now highly unlikely to be out before March 2007 is rather ridiculous. The factors are Axl and fear. Robin quit because they wouldn't release the album and at the time he had better things to do. Buckethead also quit because they wouldn't release it and Axl was so unprofessional. The Axl-ites on the forums need to shut the fuc$ up. trqster
I think the new album is a no risk-bet - we even know by now more than half the set list and we're still drooling for it to come out! Altough as times pass by quicly, one has to see if new audiences get conquered or not, besides the existing and vast die-hard fan base... Charles Manson
Even the biggest Axlites can't deny that fear is indeed a factor. It seems that he was trying to make this band and the album as good as the old guys and the old albums.Axl even said it himself at the VMAs 2002.Something along the lines, "how do you turn a bunch of guys who are something else, into something that already was..." avg_
yeah, i agree.. that could be a possibility, once he said on the mtv awards that it was hard to replace what was once gnr..he would have a high quality of expectations from the new guys, and it would be hard to once shock the music world with his music..its just rarely done anymore..what happened to the beatles?, led zeppelin you know, theres not any musicians out there nowdays that take the music scene by storm anymore..i think axl is trying to become that.. someone who will always be remembered as a musical genius, in which he is.. maybe he just doubts his work
