Alex7
Like, i know they are quite common, but how much are they worth ?
GNRfan001
most record shops have it for $30..at least that how much they are in my area..you can get a fake copy for about $
The Sandman
They have been put at high as $50 - not all that much tbh. Sealed is best though - that gets a helluva lot more.
KBear
If you mean the original, first printing...the one that physically was released back in 1987. It's gotta be about $200. I'm hoping to own a copy one day.But if you just want that cover, yeah, about $30. As far as I know this album is still in print, I bought one that was made in 2002.I wouldn't have thought HMV would carry a fake one, but a location near me is selling a fake for $23. It's pictured here, under the title "How to Spot a Fake":http://ladydairhean.0catch.com/Axl/guides.htmIt's really strange. I think HMV told me that this item is available on special order, and I would have assumed that they get it from a legitimate supplier. So I'd have expected it to be a valid copy. But if it was valid, would it have those spelling mistakes? And wouldn't it list the year the album was made, rather than just 1987?
Alex7
Ok thanks. I just got one on ebay for £5 It's the vinyl with the rape scene cover. There's another one on auction now Edited March 25, 2007 by Alex7
The Sandman
I've got an original - unsealed. Still awesome though, and mint condition.
Alex7
Yeah, who cares if it's unsealed, if you buy it it's to unseal it anyway
The Sandman
Yeah, who cares if it's unsealed, if you buy it it's to unseal it anyway Jeez, no you don't!
KBear
Unsealing it kills it's value. You buy a re-issue to open and listen to, and an original to leave sealed. Isn't that what everybody does? But having an original in mint condition, even if it's opened, is still awesome. I'm thinking there can't be too many originals that are still sealed at this point - that would be very hard to come by. Legit copies at least. Not like the plethora of LLAS sealed copies that have popped up on ebay lately. As if there could ever be so many sealed copies of that EP still lying around. Micks
Unsealing it kills it's value. You buy a re-issue to open and listen to, and an original to leave sealed. Isn't that what everybody does? Yeah, if you're like a GNR nerd.. I don't really care.. I don't see why I'd even own an original AFD. I'm happy with my cd...

I assume it has to have that black sticker.I actually won one of these off eBay in the last month or so. The seller indicated that it was an original pressing from the LA area. Sure enough his profile showed him based in LA, so that added a tiny bit of credibility. Still sealed, mint condition, has the sticker on it and I paid about $50. Got it this week. I'm a happy camper!

The fakes seem to be done really well and it's hard to tell what's real and what isn't. Oddly enough, from a collectible standpoint, because the fakes are done so well they are still an interesting item to have. But basically I'd be skeptical of any sealed copies of LLAS posted on eBay, for the simple fact that this is a 20-year-old EP that was produced in limited quantities (50,000 I think), of a band that became huge soon afterwards. I have a hard time believing there are many sealed copies out there, and when a bunch pop up on eBay all around the same time (this happened maybe half a year ago) you just know something is wrong. If a copy pops up on eBay from a seller in the U.S. (remember that this was only released in the California area, I'm pretty sure at least), that is opened and has some damage, I'd frankly put more stock into that than a sealed or mint copy from someone in a pirating country like Japan or China. Those are the first tip offs IMO.Unfortunately, with LLAS, it is buyer beware.
