  1. I'm sarry for youuuuuuu....not sarry for meeeeee. Yeah most of Chinese Democracy is atrociously bad.

Now. I would all like to hear your own lyrics please.

There's always a few butthurt folks out there. If this logic would make sense football coaches would be the best players in the world.

  2. Plenty of people think Michael Jackson did some pretty incredible music with that voice of his.

Seriously, are some of you smoking crack?

And plenty of people think otherwise, so what? I just happen to be the other half who think that MJ ain't nothing special. Imo he just became a legend because of the music video, not because he was so talented.

Oh wait I forgot his legendary work with the Jackson 5 lmao.

It's one thing to dislike an artist, but to make claims that are just blatantly untrue when a certain artist like Michael Jackson could do pretty much anything with his voice makes your opinion kind of invalid, and if anything, shows how ignorant you are towards music in general.

Michael Jackson, for one, had an incredible range, was capable of pretty much any vocal technique, could beatbox and sing at the same time, knew how to figure out how to harmonize with himself in pretty much every key imaginable and mimic the character of a lot of instruments. There's plenty of artists that can do one or two of these things, but there's not many out there capable of mastering everything.

On top of that he's written pop songs, rock songs, gospel songs, disco, R&B, soul, and was capable of blending every music style, whether current or from the past. into his own music, and was on top of the world for over a decade. Compare this to most pop artists who have a career of maybe 2 or 3 albums until they vanish into obscurity.

A song like Black Or White has hip hop, rock, funk and a bit of jazz in it, and you say it's not incredible? That he was average? If he was so average, why hasn't anyone been capable of doing the same? It's been over 50 years since a man like that was born. But yeah, nothing special, right? It's one thing not to like the songs and not to like the vocals, but you don't need to be a fan of certain artists to be capable of appreciating what they're capable of doing. The only reason why his career went downhill was because the decisions he made in his personal life got in the way of his own musical creativity. Not because the novelty of his videos wore off or something like that.

The same goes for people saying The Beatles were average songwriters. They've written songs with such impeccable hooks and melody lines that are still rarely matched today by anyone. Some people write one, two, maybe 10 songs like that over a 40 year career. The Beatles wrote about 50 in about 10 years. I can understand people saying they like the songs when performed by others, I can understand people saying they don't like what The Beatles sounded like, but saying they were average songwriters is, once again, sheer ignorance.

Personally, I can't stand Bruce Springsteen. I admire him for what he does, how he's mixing up setlists, plays for 3 to 4 hours, has almost always stayed true to what he likes as opposed to what he thinks his audience likes, but I just can't get into him, nor the sound of his band. It's just not for me.

  3. Saw this movie in the theater for the actual movie and had completely forgotten about the song. Then the song starts playing and I'm thinking "Is this Axl? Oh yeah, this is that movie he's doing the song for. Well, sounds shit, time to bail". Shows how interested I was, really. Because I was that cool long before everyone else started to realize the same thing on here.

  4. Thanks for the replies guys. I had no idea some of the Live Era vocals were re-recorded. Still a great live Album!

How can it be a live album, when it's not live? I don't mean to be an ass, but once I found out I was duped way back when, that album never got played again. If I want a studio recording, I'll listen to one. If I want a live recording, I'll listen to a bootleg. But listening to a fake live record?

    That's just horse shit lol

I hate to burst your bubble, but almost all live albums are sweetened up in the studio.

Sure, but not like Live Era. Yes, all bands do overdubs, change the mix here and there and have a singer that sings a few of his lines again. This is all done for a better listening experience. A flat note here and there might be authentic, but it's also painfull to listen to. What they don't do is completely redo all vocals for most of the album. It's a bit of a difference there. And in Axl's case, it didn't even make for a better listening experience either, so fuck knows why he felt it was necessary.

  5. Well Axl's voice in 99 was amazing then!

Meh, the first thing I thought when listening to Live Era was "I don't remember him sounding like this?" I was utterly disappointed with how big of a mess the album really is. The mix is poor, the re-recorded vocals sound thin and have none of the anger or rasp in them that was there originally... IndiannaRose gave a good summary of all the editing they did:

  6. Joe perry has said this week that Aerosmiths last album never sold that well. He also added that playing new songs gets a "polite appluase" at the shows. Which is why they are only playing one new song at most on the recent tour.

Aerosmith are bigger than GNR and have their original lineup, yet they are struggling to put out new material which there audiance would love. With this in mind... How does current GNR have a chance?

With that theory; how does any band stand a chance if their last album didn't do as well as the one before that? Big bands should realize that the only way they'll sell albums if they actually play stuff from it, and actually go out to promote it.

Many big acts nowadays seem to think that their new stuff will only sell if it's got a hit, but as soon as it doesn't it's never them, but the record company or some other factor that's at fault. Aerosmith never went out to promote their record. They did about 3 televised performances, gave 2 interviews and then toured the album half a year after it'd been released. Yeah, no shit no one knows it's been out.
