  1. the general public obviously still thinks slash is in the band rock4

It's been 14 years of silence...it's been 14 years of pain...it's been 14 years since Slash left the band and long enough for people to start realizing that he is playing elsewhere.

    :o

    I prefer the original.

    Me too.

  3. Changing the name would be a disaster for Axl publicly. Everyone would tear him apart for giving in and going against everything he has been working and fiighting for for well over the past decade.

I agree. Axl is a breathing anti-hero (whether naturally or purposely that's a different discussion). That's part of the reason people are so allured to his performances. People love to hate him, yet they can't get enough of him. Giving up the name would mean giving up his strife. I firmly believe that if Axl were not able to perform under the Guns N' Roses moniker then he wouldn't perform at all. Giving up the name now seems like a silly option to me. He has sacrificed too much by keeping it (what little good reputation with the general public he had to begin with). It would be completely against his character to do so.

  4. HOLY SHIT! Axl hasn't sounded that good on that song since that like 1986 acoustic clip on youtube!

It completely perplexes me as to why they don't learn that song with the whole band and make it a signature song every night?? People fucking lose their shit when they start playing it

From watching all the Don't Cry performences with Bumble, it looks like Axl needs to be in a certain mood to sing it. I think he sounds amazing on it here. Maybe the good crowd reception before Axl joined in was taken into consideration as well.

Bumble should totally start playing Civil War then! Haha, I wonder how Axl would react to that (if any reaction were to occur at all).

  5. Change the name.

Ultimately this will do nothing. The original band will not reunite and the years of yore are long gone. People should just fucking accept that the Guns N' Roses that they grew up with and loved (for those that are old enough to remember) is long fucking gone. A name means shit when the original members are not there. If people refuse to accept reality of this, then that's their problem. I realize that this band is not the same band that captivated my attention during childhood yet I accede that today's band is a live powerhouse. This GN'R is not my mother's GN'R, but I don't give a damn. Why do people cling on to the past so stubbornly? It has all to do with nostalgia and little to do with reality. I will admit, Axl Rose is a fucking frustrating and undependable front man. Although, his talent is undeniable. To sit through the monster of a show that they put on and complain about the fact that the original members are not there is just fucking stupid.

Fuck, that's a lot of fucks.

  6. What I don't understand is how people purchase tickets to see a band they already plan to verbally trash before the show even begins. It just boggles my mind. They obviously buy tickets because they want to see Axl Rose perform, yet at the same time they strongly dislike/ despise the man. It's such a weird fucking paradox. The press is a horrid, evil beast. Though, whatever, these shows are selling out one after another. These reviews don't seem to make a difference. Ultimately, the band wins.

  7. I so don't want to get into this on a forum full of Axl's die hard fans. Let's just say it didn't sound like it used to. I don't know, I wasn't there, these were people's thoughts after the show. Don't shoot the messenger.

What the fuck are these people talking about? Judging from these past few clips, his voice sounded incredible. Its got that razor-edge quality that defined Axl as a singer in the past. It's incredibly powerful. Were people expecting clean, Appetite-like vocals?

  8. Wow.. The danish papers seem to be right when they write that this is probably some of the last we'll see from Axl Rose! That was fucking terrible!

Fucking OUCH!!! "we still can find a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-EEEE-AAAAY"

The SCOM clip also shows Axl wasn't having a good night vocally...... never mind it happens to the best of them.

Why are you even here?

Here are the pictures I took, some are better than other, it was quite hard taking pictures because of the crowd movement.

I don't know if the link works for you, let me know if it doesn't :P

Don't start with that shit you fucking cunt.

I support the new band but Axl sounded shit so I said so.

I also said "never mind it happens to the best of them"

MEANING everyone has a bad night. Sorry he sounded shit in the concert you went to, but don't start pulling a "you can't be here if you say anything bad..."

    What are you a Nazi?

    LP

You're judging that from 2 small clips of November Rain and SCOM?

Maybe if you had seen the WHOLE concert you would think otherwise. You're saying you think this is some of the last we'll see from Axl Rose, based on two small videos? I'm not saying you can't be here, I'm asking WHY you are here, for it sure must suck to to only come here and bash Axl's voice in 2 video clips, instead of commenting on all the good things.

Most of the Danish press loved this show and so did all the people who were there. So don't try and come here telling people that Axl sounded like shit at this show and that this is probably some of the last we'll see from Axl Rose. Because Axl sounded fucking great at this show and of course he has his ups and downs like he has at EVERY show, but that doesn't mean that Axl was "fucking terrible" at this show. He was fucking great! But you wouldn't know, you've only seen two small clips where Axl wasn't on top.

Really, you're over-reacting. Longpig just had a couple of small comments on how Axl sounded on those two small clips (imo he sounded pretty bad on them). He didn't say his voice sucked through out the whole show. He was just responding to the previous poster's youtube links. Don't be too sensitive...

  9. OK, I know am I lot into rumors and some people don't like it. Whatever. I heard Rock Band 3 will feature a brand new Guns N' Roses and maybe Appetite for Destruction and the new album as a DLC. The Rock Band 3 announcement is today at the Eletronic Arts already happened and they didn't announce. For those who doesn't know, EA is a Harmonix partner.

Instead of posting this topic 3 hours ahead of the supposed 'announcement', you should have waited through those 3 hours to see if any announcement was made at all. If one was made, then you should have posted this topic. If not, then this thread would not have been necessary. Next time use a lil' more common sense.

    Just sayin'.

  10. FYI guys, the lead singer from Saivu has been a member here for many years now. Congrats Teddy!

Glad someone else pointed this out.

Anyone else remember the first 3 demos Teddy posted here years ago? To witness the path this album has taken over the years; is really amazing. From a set of 3 demos recorded for $500 bucks - to having a full length album. From listening to the demos over the years and seeing where the song originated and ended up today really brings a lot into the behind the scenes of making an album; something I'm grateful for being able to witness.

Mr. Teddy - Congrats man; I've said it before and I'll say it again - the charts are waiting for you!

Holy fuck, I used to trade lyrics and poems with Teddy years ago. We used to re-write each other's songs while we would also interchange critical feedback between the two of us. I did not know he had gotten this far (as a matter of fact, I still have some of his old demos)! This is a pleasant surprise! Right-on Teddy. :)

  11. This is definitely Axl singing. I would say this is a mid-1980s demo of either Hollywood Rose or Rapidfire (I'm leaning towards Hollywood Rose).

  12. The rock world and so called rock stars are more Britney than Britney herself. I was expecting Madonna to come out and kiss him for the finale.

Pathetic and embarrassing how low these so called authentic musicians go just to sell their brand to the consumer. Next he will go on Ellen trying to sell his house and record Only Women Bleed with Fergie while Cyprus Hill raps the verses and his groupies will defend it like it's the best thing he ever did.

Yeah it was incredibly lame, but it's not like they raped kittens on live television or anythin'.

  13. Let ne ask, how many people did I fool with that post? I actually don't hate him, not a fan but I don't hate him. I just made this topic just to see if Springsteen fans are more hardcore than Slayer fans. In this case, not really but it's up there. A big thanks to my Mom who asked "Are you a fan of the Boss?" and me saying "Eh he's okay" to strike a huge argument between my mom and me. So anyway, I don't hate the Boss, just wanted some test rats to see if my expirement ment anything.

Hmm, maybe you should post this topic in a Bruce Springsteen forum then...

    Ya know, for better results.

  14. Chinese Democracy was not only a flop, but it's was riding on years of mystique of a $13 million album that had been marinating for over ten years and hype; the next album will have none of that, and even less "epic" promotion.

Actually, I think this is a good thing. This new album (if it ever gets its wheels going - something I highly doubt), won't be expected to sell a billion copies just as Chinese Democracy was. There will be less ridiculous expectations, and if the quality of material surpasses these lessened expectations, then I believe the album's sequel will be heralded as a solid continuation of the first album.

  15. Seriously, what on Earth are you talking about dude? The truth hurts? You mean your opinion that you try to pass off as the absolute truth? That truth? Yeah, good try buddy.

Hey, take it easy Indianna...apparently we have different views on this. And your opinion isn´t surely the only in here either.

Some people like the funky-shreddy-vibe of Bumblefoot.

Some people like the melodic way of Buckethead playing.

I am clear on my opinion, and that is that Bucketheads playing fitted more in the band. It brought energy to the band, and a kind of modern feeling.

I do consider these notions irrelevant to the topic at hand (as well as my own personal preference between these two guitar players). This thread isn't about Buckethead either. I'm not quite sure why he was brought into this. I just want Dave to quantify why Ron is not able to do the things that Dave asserts Ron cannot do. I challenged him to display his argument without relegating to personal insults or insinuations about others. After all, if he has such strong opinions about said topic then he must be able to fully defend himself against those whom he disagrees with. This is the reason why I made that post. I do believe you have misunderstood me.
