At my high school:

65%: Love GN'R, own AFD, UYI albums or have at least 10 GN'R songs on their iPods.

15%: Emo kids who hate GN'R and think they're assholes and love Green crap Day.

15%: Satanist freaks who think GN'R are pussies because they don't sing about killing people.

5%: People who don't know much about GN'R but like the legendary songs like WTTJ, PC, or SCOM.

Completely the opposite to me.

About 2% love GN'R (that I know of). I'm sure there are many closet GNR fans.

I think some used to like them but are sick of the overkill of some songs such as November Rain but I think once they hear some new material about 30% will appreciate them (not necessarily like).

Why are you people so thrilled with Better? The song isn't the GnR sound.. Plus the begining is a complete joke and most casual fans will turn the back on it.

Can't believe I found someone with the same opinion as me...everyone seems to think better is amazing. I think that the lyrics are good but apart form that it is not up to scratch as a GNR song.

Get your head out of your own arse for just one minute. If Axl released another AFD or UYI it wouldn't sell as it would be exactly the same. Axl has taken a new musical direction with GN'R. Get used to it. I, for one, am gonna support him with this.

The guitar work on TWAT is fucking amazing. Hats off to Richard/Robin/Bucket?

I think the vocals need to be tinkered with slightly. The vocals are very nice but I think the guitar is a bit overpowering.

And after the first appearance at the Korn party, who else but GNR fans gave a shit? Hopefully, Axl has put these songs out as a teaser. Im very hopeful, but theres still that thought in the back of mind that we could still be waitin for another year or maybe longer.

Releasin a few demos might save on marketing costs anyway!

I think that everyone has a niggling feeling it could be over a year before we get it. This is only because people have been waiting since 1993 for new GNR studio material. People will only believe Chinese Democracy when it is in their hands, not when they hear an official release date from Axl as they have been told numerous things in that past that turned out not to be true.

Well there is no release date set.

However, hopefully this material will make them set one!! B)

Nightcrawler, I think the fact that you would even compare two unfinished demos with VR's album says a lot.

It's not that I don't like VR but I think this material has greater potential.

You can't compare these 'demos' to VR's studio album, but it does seem this GN'R material is showing a lot more potential than the VR material

Slash was saying how he can't wait to hear the new band. Well he can definitely hear it now. I bet hes annoyed that he left GNR with this new amazing material.

Yeah I'm only 16 and I suppose I do listen to classic rock.

Although bands like Whitesnake and Poison annoy me because it is overly cheesy, I do like Hendrix and a bit of Zeppelin. Not too sure about Aerosmith though...

EDIT: The interesting thing in that article about "Guitar Gods". I was discussing with my friend the other day about guitar gods and we were saying how Slash is the only real guitar god still going.

As every day passes by I am less and less optimistic that they will be playing at Rock in Rio

However, I think it is definitely possible to stick Slash in the new line-up as the replacement for Buckethead.

Stick Slash back on Lead Guitar and have Robin and Richard playin rhythm with some lead parts. That would be really good in my opinion.
