Wait lol what was the show you were at again where- actually... did you see DJ's first show with the band?  Because if I recall, didn't you say something about seeing, what you described as some kind of like, "Hollywood nightmare" and you said, "I am 100% certain he was on the phone with DJ Ashba."  Haha I always thought your description of the dude was hilarious lol.

Semi-related type of story: I was on the same flight with Andrei from LAX to Vegas before the shows at T-Mobile in 16 and I watched him get the phone call from, whoever it was, informing him of Axl's injury.  He looked so shocked and "wtf?!"

I kinda miss those days, it seemed more exciting, despite the contrived life of DJ Ashba.

I dont hold a grudge at all. I was just surprised you kept the same handle all these years. Im also surprised we are both here. Lol. We must really love GNR. I apologize for the lack of clarity in previous post. I hope all is well.

I stopped being active here a decade ago, I kinda lurk in the shadows, don’t really bother too much anymore. Tried to get back into GNR again with mixed results. Finally getting The General kinda put closure on it for me.

Hope you’re doing well. I’m traveling between NYC and SoFlo these days back and forth. If you’re around drop me a line I’ll buy you a drink…or two…

Ok. I was reading into it.

I will never forget the time you refused to sale me a single Hammerstien ballroom

ticket because I wouldn’t tell you my CO’s name.

There must have been an important reason why, I don’t recall the entire situation but I do remember I went to every show and ended up with extra tickets. I think I bought some and got some from my company at the time. At any rate, I don’t know why you would carry a grudge for so many years. If you feel slighted by my behavior back then, I do apologize.

Although I tend to go with the "innocent until proven", in cases like this, with so much detail, I find it hard to believe there isn't a burning fire underneath the pillars of smoke. And regardless, the band can't have these accusations over them even if settled outside of court or dismissed, Fernando needs to go regardless. I am like Cesar on this, "Caesar's wife must be above suspicion". Fernando must go.

I think there are patterns of behavior that Fernando has displayed throughout that shows manipulative tendencies. It makes me feel very uncomfortable about the entire TB situation including Beta. Not that they haven’t grown close and built trust over the years, but that their relationship may have been built on manipulation.

And this is why we'll probably never have a GN'R album of new material. You can't force an artist to share art against their will. It's a violation. It's a breach of trust. If I were in Axl's shoes, I wouldn't be so willing to give a single other scrap to an industry and a fanbase that treated me so poorly.

He was right to say fuck all of you and cash the reunion check, then go about his life unconcerned and happy.

I wish we all could be treated so poorly. You’re completely delusional to the point of being so utterly insulting to everyone’s intelligence.

I think the frustration has a lot to do with the fact that “Perhaps” is such a small breadcrumb to throw fans so to keep delaying its release makes it that much more annoying. It’s also pretty much a given that no real promotion will back it up so it begs the question of why do they bother continuously inventing reasons to not release it.

All there is are breadcrumbs. There is no album, there is nothing coming other than a few tracks that Slosh and Duff worked on from the CD era. And those will be released with great pains….

Place your bets. Come tomorrow, will the band/Team Brazil/the label:

    A) acknowledge any of this

    B) tuck their heads in the sand and ignore it

    C) rush release the single to online retailers.

    D) Punish the fans some more and cancel the release completely.

    D) I say they punish us, we could all benefit from a proper spanking anyway….

We are due for a good leak any day now! The last major one was in 2019. :(

Surely, in time, more will come.

I feel horrible for everyone associated with GNR sans TB. It must be difficult dealing with Axl’s shenanigans. Obviously the positives outweigh the negatives in terms of money, but walking on eggshells due to some certifiable lunatic who is your boss is far from ideal.

It has nothing to do with "making the cut" with the songs that were not on the 2008 record. They planned on putting out more than one record worth of material, so the "big guns" were spread across multiple, 2-3 records. Several band interviews have backed this up.

This is simply incorrect. Most of the song titles were grafted from interviews and were just working titles for ideas in various stages of development, the song “list” from an alternate CD was not real. Aside from this, it was full of song titles that were never developed. Most likely Axl never finished writing lyrics nor recorded any vocals for a vast majority of the working song titles from the CD era.

During the hunt for unreleased tracks, what became apparent was the lack of completed material which seemed to be in contrast to what some of the earlier rumors suggested. Those who actually worked on the album painted a picture of lack of continuity and direction. With the band leader seldom showing his face or presenting completed ideas.

Based on Axl’s own disclosure, there would have been 26 tracks in semi-completed form prior to the release of CD. We can assume this includes the tracks on the album, the leaked tracks as well as OMG, Going Down and The General. We will learn in the not-so-distant future that we’ve already heard some of the tracks that were hidden under different titles previously and/or deconstructed and used in those other tracks.
