I don't think a new album will affect their popularity much. It's actually a risk. I'll give you an example...

In my country (Netherlands) we have an artist that has created some nice rock music in the past (Anouk). But her latest albums were mainly boring (less rock, more ballads) and when she was scheduled to perform near my area, I didn't care. And I didn't go.

So that day I sat in my garden and could actually hear her perform in the distance... and you know what? It sounded great! She played quite a few rock songs, some classics, there were nice guitar solo's, everything.

And i was like "damn, that sounds totally different from what I expected based upon her latest releases". I should have been at the concert.

So if Guns N Roses releases an album that isn't great it might actually hurt them.

They really have to believe in the success of their new music. Almost to a point that at least half of the album sounds like "classic Guns N Roses".

Sure, I still believe they can pull that off... but it isn't easy.

They need to release anything. This is a band that goes on as a top billing band yet has no catalog to back up their status. Their legacy rests on essentially two releases.

Imagine how huge this band could actually be if they had good management and did the PR work.

They could have used an event like Glastonbury to release music and sell well.

    It's a real shame that they don't.

How can they? Axl won’t stand for it. Anyone who has qualified managerial experience, tenacity, passion and leadership will bump heads with Axl immediately and be terminated.

....who's this Pele I see mentioned EVRRYWHERE on here!?!

He came here to save the forum from the demented ANTIFA member who runs his mouth constantly as well as the regulars who enjoy perpetuating the myth of a prodigal, song-writing genius that’s assembled a vault full of masterpieces for no one to ever hear.

I’d like to take back everything I said here. The reason I was theorizing that there may be more than six songs in total is cause some of us on a discord server were being fed info from someone that seemed legit at first, but then one of us did some digging and found out that this supposed “insider” was really full of shit (using photoshopped pics to make it look like they knew Axl, etc.).

    CSI:GNR is insane, man…

You know what makes this even funnier? Beta recently retweeted something from this guy that was pretending to be an insider. Even she fell for it! That’s our management, folks…

For what it’s worth, the guy was claiming that Axl really has like 60 songs and that he was just waiting until his deal with Sanctuary expires in 2025 to release most of them.

I’ve mentioned this before, but after discussing the intricacies regarding obtaining CD era demos and all the presumed tracks with MSL, the consensus is that there are a lot of samples and tracks in various stages of development, most abandoned long long ago.

Most of the “insiders” that had any real clout were first and foremost fans attempting to use cunning to charm and trick their way into new music. Unfortunately, each side was playing the other.

What about that clip duff posted to his Instagram in march where it sounded like axl was singing “never never be” did everyone forget about that because it sounded just like him what if that’s the song we’ve never heard Richard is talking about

I know that has a 1% chance of happening

Axl was singing Metallica at a karaoke.

In regard to Axl’s voice.  A few things.  As a musician and singer myself your voice is never the same every night.  The caliber and amount of touring bands did in late 80’s and 90’s damaged a lot of singers voices.  Add in smoking, alcohol, soda, and other things that damage your vocal pallet.  The voice is a muscle that wears over time.  Bon Jovi has discussed this.  If he wants to sing however he can, then cool IMO.  He’s worth 200$ million he can do what he wishes. There’s reasons there is a saying of “rock n roll is a young man’s game.”  Corey Taylor even said “you think I’ll be able to scream the song people=shit at 70? It’s just not possible.”

In regard to new song(s) I think Hyde park would make sense as a single release.  Given the show day/time and volume that will be there but I could be 1000% wrong.  I assume they’ll follow same model and we will see 2 songs.  Probably no more than that this year.  Annoying but eh.  I think Fortus sitar pedal would be relevant for Atlas.  I’ll have to match his settings on my same ravish sitar pedal and see what it does. I really hope they release Atlas, Perhaps, The General, and finalized state of grace.

The fact they’ve released locker leak songs makes me really question if there is even many more completed songs.  If there were your think they’d release something nobody’s heard.  Anyone else a bit surprised by Atlas? First time I heard that I was like (it’s cool, but not as epic as I thought it would be.) I am wondering if we all may feel same about the general when we hear it.  What if it’s 1:30 seconds of that intro and then just 45 seconds of singing?  I always thought Atlas would be more estranged-ish based on discussion.  I’d really like to hear a confident and finalized version of state of grace.  That curly shuffle song would be cool to hear.  I still think that song could be a mid 90’a pre slash exit song.  I think a few songs on the lockers could be.  Obviously Oklahoma as well.

I’ve always said(thought) that the greatest thing about Atlas is the title…….

All these people are experts on how Axl should live his life.  He likes to tour and travel and do live shows and people are still coming out to the shows in large crowds.  Let the man live his life the way he wants, he has earned that in life. He doesn't need anyone on mygnrforums approval lol

So then it’s not such a big deal that the 88 of us on this forum actually discuss GNR related matter democratically. After all, why should Axl care what a few dozen superfans muse about?

I'm not saying they did 10 or 12 songs, what I'm saying is that he say I don't remember exactly how many we did, so It can be 6 or 7 ir 3 or 4, and in terms of Guns N Roses getting 1 more song or not is important!

Any time GNR is brought up its members lose the ability to count or recollect what happened the previous day. Certainly Slash knows the number and it’s a paltry sum. I would say 4-6 is right in the money.

Prostitute ended up being awesome. Checkmate/Jackie Chan/ Hard School ended up being really good especially the 2000 version. The General is an epic style Axl Rose song. TWAT, Prostitute, Maddy, are all good. Epics are what the guy does the best. I think it’s a good bet it’s gonna be awesome. The crappy cell phone clip sounds like an awesome song.

Side Note- are we sure SOG didn’t morph into the General? I think it’s very odd that it is basically a complete song and was not on that 2008 leaked email list.

Epics are Civil War, Breakdown, Locomotive, Estranged, Coma. In my opinion, nothing on CD competes on any level with previous GNR epics. Those grandiose ideas that Axl had for CD just didn’t pan out.

What worries me is that Marco Beltrami said (a long time ago) that Seven was a better song than The General. So even if there is a chance The General might finally be released, I'm not getting my hopes up too much.

What if I don't even like the song?

I'm excited about Perhaps though. I already know the song has potential and hope they actually improved it (instead of butchering it). The soundcheck sounds promising.

Marco wasn’t referring to vocally complete songs. He was asked by someone if the other tracks he worked on had vocals to which he replied “no”.

yes I was. It was great fun, I think I've enjoyed all of it. So many people in the crowd as well. Didn't record videos or took pics with my phone just cause I don't care for that kind of thing in general and it would have ruined the experience for me. Gn'R still rocks hard imho, even if it's tougher for Axl vocally, it was obvious he gave it 100%.

I’ll take a couple photos but I pretty much stopped doing so and recording videos that I’ll never watch. I agree, it ruins the experience.
