  1. RIP Joaquin Andujar, former MLB Pitcher dies at 62. Grew up watching this guy play for the Cardinals. I loved it when he would come up to bat and just swing for the fences. This was the National League, where we don't have that pussy DH rule, the pitchers hit. He would try to lay down a bunt when there was a runner on base, but if there was no one on, he just went for it. Usually struck out or flied out, but every once in awhile he'd get a dinger.

  2. Eagles are looking good so far....after two pre-season games, I predict a 12-4 season with a decent playoff run.....of course, my prediction could change before the start of the regular season, depending on how they look from this point out, injuries, etc.

Do you think Sam Bradford can get the job done? I'm from St. Louis and have watched him since he got drafted. He didn't have an offensive line to protect him, and then he was injured for the past 2 years. Your thoughts?

  3. Watched the entire 18 inning game between the Mets/Cardinals yesterday. I thought it would never end, neither team could score. Finally the Mets won. Cardinals have a day off today to refresh, but I think the Mets have to play tonight.

It was a double header that wasn't supposed to be a double header.

  4. Any liberal evr thought of the fact that we have 10 US military bases around the country named after Confederate battle officers.

Fort Bragg, Fort Lee, Fort Hood, Fort Pickett, Fort Benning, etc.? Wheres the revolution to have them all renamed?

You'd think if liberals really cared of what they preached there would be some sort of movement, or at least a mention.

why, because they don't really care that's why. just more ridiculousness.

    http://newsbusters.org/blogs/randy-hall/2015/06/26/al-sharpton-demands-military-remove-all-remnants-confederacy

In addition to calling for General Lee Avenue to be renamed, Foy said the NAN is pushing for the military to change the names of the 10 bases that honor Confederate figures. "Military bases are on federally owned land that is outside of local jurisdiction.”

    Foy added:

We will be presenting an official letter to the commander of this base and then sending it up the chain, asking that they remove all the remnants of the Confederacy.

Taxpayer dollars are supporting a U.S. military that honors the Confederacy.

you are quoting Al Sharpton? really?

Is this akin to when Jesse Jackson extorted Quaker Oats to change Aunt Jemima's image on the pancake box?

You see where this is all going, So after we rename the 10 Military bases , remove the battle flag from all public display, whats next? No Dukes of Hazzard reruns? Jessica Simpson starred in the latest Duke Movie with the General Lee in full view, ban her concerts until she apologizes and denounces?

    moving forward

So when Southerners find trinkets in stores with redneck overtones associated with being from the south, do we protest until the stores are in compliance?

we still have the redskins issue to address.

Shades called it. TV Land is pulling "The Dukes of Hazzard" reruns. Which is of course, just plain stupid.

  5. It's probably a coincidence, but I never see this brought up when talking about Pete Rose. He was the Manager of the Reds from 1984-1989. 1st as a player/manager, then manager only. Banned from Baseball in August of 1989. The Reds did not win the division while he was the manager.

Then in 1990, the Reds won the World Series with Lou Pinella, sweeping the heavily favored defending champs(Oakland A's). Did the Reds suddenly become world beaters after Pete left, or was something holding them back? Your thoughts.

  6. Neil Young was on Howard Stern last year and talked about meeting Manson at Dennis Wilson's house a few times. I'm paraphrasing, but he said he was impressed that Manson could just grab a guitar, start strumming and come up with lyrics on the fly. Don't know if he thought it was any good though. Young also said he got weirded out by Manson's "family" and never saw him again. It's on youtube if your interested. Long interview.

Anyway, I think Axl did do it for shock value/publicity. Same thing with the song "One in a Million."
