  1. Poison took a lot of pointers from Van Halen(not the girly makeup stuff). But they were OK, and put on a good show. And I'll give them props for playing their own instruments, unlike rap artists.

  2. Van Halen II is the best ever... but i love them all...

Nunca los has escuchado ... daah ... O te los llego a prestar tu papa? Si algun dia los compras prestamelos ... Vamos un dia a polvos azules a comprar discos pe

I said that in Spanish so you guys wouldn't be able to understand it :P

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Well, you got me stumped. My spanish consists of 1-10 and the taco bell menu.

  3. Van Halen just got bumped again.

Partial list of bands/artists on the ballot for next year:

    John Mellencamp

    Sex Pistols

    The Stooges

    Black Sabbath

    Patti Smith

    Miles Davis

    J.Giels Band

    Dave Clark 5

    Cat Stevens

    Lynard Skynnard

Grand Master Flash (mother fuckin rap. what a disgrace)

Plenty of worthy bands mentioned here, but, what the fuck. Rap is not Rock n Roll.

  4. I'll give a slight edge to "Spanish Fly" because it's done on an acoustic guitar.

I've seen Eddie live 7 times, and he plays it on electric guitar, and it sounds even better. Last summer, during Eddie's solo, his son Wolfgang came out playing 316 on Eddie's famous red/white striped guitar. Wolfie and his dad jammed together. Great moment. Wolfgang is 13 or 14, and he can play too. It's in the genes. He looks like Valerie in the face.

  5. Probably the best hard rock band of all time (and that doesn't mean every other hard rock band sucks)!!

I saw Page/Plant in 1996 or 1997. Not the original lineup of course. But it was great. Just seeing Jimmy Page playing that guitar with a smoke hanging from his lips, I'll never forget it.

  6. Great band. Only saw them once live, great show. All about the music, no great light show or pyro, just music.

Not that I have anything against explosions and great light shows. I love them too.

    Pearl Jam didn't need it.

  7. I didn't know there was a riot. Hahaha.

I think when there's a DJ it means he's the guy who plays music inbetween acts, but if it's a proper DJ then that must've sucked.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It wasn't as bad as the St.Louis riot in 91. But they did riot, threw some chairs and damaged some of GnR's equipment. It looked like they damaged the soundboard area and camera's.

  8. I was just wondering, in Philly 2002, were the rest of the new GnR at the venue waiting around to see if Axl was going to make it? Or did they not show up either?

Did they even check into the hotel that day, or just fly to LA, knowing the tour was over?

I know Dizzy said something like(when asked about what happened in Philly) "..well, you can blame Clear Channel for that."

I think the paying customers in Philly got one hell of a raw deal. The concert was sold out,(not 1/2 filled) and they had to sit thru a no-name opening act, and then a DJ. A DJ???

You could train a chimpanzee to spin records for an hour. I don't care if the DJ had been with the Beastie Boys or not. And then, it was announced that the show was cancelled.

Anyway, does anyone know if Bucket,Tommy,Robin,Brain,Chris, Richard and Dizzy were in Philly when all hell broke loose? If not, where were they? I guess we won't hear from Axl about this riot until he goes out on tour again.

  9. If there's the off chance that anyone here likes them, could you explain what they're like? I know they did a cover of Fleetwood Mac's Tusk, but that's all really.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I may be wrong, but I THINK some of these guys went on to form Cracker. They did "Eurotrash Girl".

If thats them, I liked Cracker.

  10. Best live shows ever.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I have seen them 7 times. Only once with Dave, the rest with Sammy. They are great live. I could do without the keyboard songs, but that's just me.

And, Eddie is still smoking cig's, even though he had tounge cancer. I hope that doesn't come back to haunt him. I love him anyway, I just don't want him to die anytime soon.
