  1. I think I’m the only one who likes Dummy (one of the instrumentals from the Village Sessions).  Yeah it’s repetitive, but I think it’s interesting.  Give it an interesting bridge and I’d love to see what type of melodies Axl could have laid down over it.  Who knows if he ever did.

  2. Listened for the first time this morning.  Held off on listening to the leaks.

it’s a cool song that simply was never going to live up to the hype.  It’s got a cool beat, and that middle part, when the orchestra cones in, and the bass and drums come back, is really cool.  It kinda reminds me of IRS a little bit, in a good way.   It’s not a single, definitely a b-side and I’m glad they released it.

As much as we talk sh#t about Team Brazil and Axl, the mere fact that this song has been finally released is a cool thing to do for the die-hard fans like us.    I’m very glad that I finally got to hear it after all these years.

  3. I was at both nights.  GNR was great - with Axl, I’ve come to “adjust” my expectations for his vocals. You’re gonna get some great moments and some tough ones.  Hadn’t seen them since ‘21, so the setlist was a treat.  Getting to see Pretty Tied Up, Reckless Live, Anything Goes, etc. was great.  Surprisingly, Axl sounded incredible on the bridge in Better.  One of the best vocal moments.  Also, he really sounded great on Paradise City (which had been cringey on prior tours).  GNR came out just before 10 and played till 1-I do think they would have gone longer absent the curfew.

ACDC was great too.  Agreed that Brian sounded tough at times (especially You Shook Me All Night Long).  This whole weekend, I see more AC/DC shirts than any other band-it really does feel like it’s their festival.  We were surprised that the curfew was 12 last night.  The lady at one of the bars told us they were told by the venue that they had to shut it down with little notice.  Not sure if the curfew dictated the 2ish hour length of ACDC’s set or vice versa.

    Can’t wait for tonight.

To anyone spouting that Rogan just “spews lunatic conspiracy theories,” you need to step a bit out of your box. The truth is usually always in the middle, and Rogan is an incredibly intelligent, articulate man. He never talks about anything without that being substance behind his thoughts. Let’s not mince words here, it’s about Covid misinformation. But in retrospect, most of what he said that was contrary to what our own governments were telling us, turned out to be correct.

Agree 100%.  JR has people from all walks of life on his podcast, “both sides of the aisle,” etc.  Personally, as a proponent of free speech, I find his podcast to be a great forum.  It’s up to the listener to decide what speech he/she agrees with.

Spoke to a guy i know that works for iron maiden, said they were only approached last saturday to play power trip aand were offered $5m for the one gig, and if this sells out they will do it again the following weekend with either the same lineup or a very similar one.

means that someone else also dropped out last minute id imagine. GnR will probably get more than maiden for a US gig. These cunts better put some pyro into their shows, absolutely milking it.

When they did Desert Trip it was the same thing - 2 weekends back to back.  That was essentially the same format: 6 bands (Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Sir Paul, Neil Young, the Who and Roger Waters).

  6. Unless Axl’s vocals are back to ‘16 (or better), I’m out on this tour.  I’ve seen 6 shows from the reunion lineup, and while all have been fun, I won’t pay $ to hear Mickey anymore.  Pretty sad actually because I’d love to feel hyped about the tour and they are (and will always be) one of my favorite bands.

pure speculation, but considering how much Slash quitting Gn'R has hurt Axl according to shit he said in the past and I imagine Duff quitting also had a negative effect on him, I think that while I believe that it didn't turn Axl prolific all of a sudden, it could lead to more cool shit being released in the future that without the reunion would not even be possible. I mean, the box sets and the 2 tracks Axl did release with this lineup is not nothing and even if it is defined as a very small step, I think it's an indication that shit is not exactly the same in the releasing department.

when Bumble was in the band, the vibe I was getting is that Axl had no interest in using Bumble's brand new ideas. Do you think it's the same with Slash and Duff? 2 people that were part of the classic lineup, accepted as the real deal, and can instantly make Axl's old unreleased material sound more like Gn'R?

he already let them rerecord some CD era material and released Absurd and HS so maybe he's just as slow as ever when it comes to actually releasing it, but at least Slash is talking about moving forward and Axl does shit he didn't do in the past like releasing material digitally first and like I've mentioned the box sets.

there seems to be a small shift in attitude at least and I would imagine that just knowing that Slash and Duff are there to help Axl out with recording whatever he wants, new and old material, means he might go for it, maybe not now, but hopefully at least before it's too late.

Agreed - the Ritz Blu-ray release was amazing, and without Slash and Duff back in the fold, it probably never would have seen the light of day.

  8. After the pressure of releasing Chinese Democracy (most of which Axl put on himself by doing interviews about it with people like Kurt Loder, RS, the VMAs, etc.) my guess is they will never give concrete details about a potential future release ever again.  If they release something (and that’s a big “if”), it’ll just come out without notice like Absurd.
