Listening to this version of IRS - the underlying instrumental is kind of all over the place-nothing like the final version or the version that leaked in ‘06, which indicates two things:
1. If Axl could come up with such awesome vocals for THIS version of IRS, imagine how his vocals could completely transform some of the other instrumentals on this disk?
2. They definitely did a lot of work between ‘01 and ‘06 - look how different IRS ended up.

Bit of confusion on this point. I need to listen to it again versus the 99 Freese version (It leaked first). Brain and Bucket joined together in 2000 as both Finck and Freese left when their contracts ran out in 1999 (Freese at least said they were all under contract for 2 years 97-99 and he had to decide to renew or go and do something else).
I did an “A/B” between the Maddy on RMCD1 and the Brain Remix CD that had “old Josh drums” tagged after Maddy and they sounded the same.

This would have been HUGE if it was released in 2000 or even 2002 after the VMAs. It's so ridiculously good.

I’ve seen them 3 other times on this tour and this was the first time I got to see SOYL and Slither, so I was stoked. I saw them play Maddy in Philly and Sorry the year before, so the setlists were different for all 4 of the shows I’ve seen, albeit maybe only by 1-3 songs. One night we got Patience, the other night Don’t Cry., etc. All good. This isn’t Phish.

He sounded good live in the room last night.

It’s go time!

There is some stage activity. Roadies.
-
Crowd starting to throw up middle fingers.
-
Venue closes at 2am, so 11pm is kind of a drop dead date for a 3 hour set, unless they want to pay fines.
-
Crowd starting to get restless here.
-
Still partying on the floor. Totally cut the hr line and walked into the “VIP’ line - note time at the bar! No band yet. Gotta be the latest they’ve gone on since the reunion. No NITL signage-good sign.

Guys, are there vocals on the new jungle leak or KOHD alt takes?

There was a rumor back in ‘08 that Sorry was about Steven Adler. Can’t remember where I heard it.

I registered for the Citi tickets. If I get an access code I’ll purchase the max two tickets (using a friend’s Citi card who can’t go). I only need one so I will sell the other at face value to whoever on here who wants it.
Codes go out tonight (lottery system) and sale isn’t until tomorrow morning. So won’t know until then.
sent you a PM

Okay, let me make it more clear - no songs at all leaked before The Blues and Mandy we’re first played live. The official release of OMG is the only bit of GN’R in the studio anyone had heard since “TSI?”.
Right, that’s why I added the caveat “(And before the album was released)”. I meant those three were the only ones to be played after having only been leaked - otherwise you could also include Prostitute and ITW into that list.
Got it. Yes that’s right.

Not even close - both songs were debuted live in 2001, and the first leaks of both of those came in 2007. The only songs to be leaked before being played live (And before the album came out) are IRS, Better, and TWAT.
Also CITR. Maddy definitely wasn’t leaked until after the shows in ‘06. There was a live version called “Bloody Roses Remaster” that sounded kind of studio-ish but it was a fan mix from the ‘02 tour.

To my knowledge, no one has posted pics of this supposed "21st CD," which is odd because full pics of the 19 CDs (including inserts) have been produced from the locker. My guess (which is completely out of the blue - i have zero knowledge of anything) is that the "21st CD" is something somebody made up to use as trade bait to try and get more songs from hoarders. The song titles on the fabled 21st CD come from a list that someone produced from a legal document, in part. Again, I have no info here, but it's just my guess.

Just heard Chinese Democracy from the Beavan sessions w/ Freese on drums. Wow!
It's incredible how much this version kicks the shit out of the album version. Leaner, meaner, better produced. That Freese drumming is killer.
Agreed. I also love the bass heavier in the mix during the verses.

I'd love it if it was just the piano on it's own. I could do without the whale sounds. Overall it's a beautiful track with massive potential.
Maybe Evader or ImSorry can figure out a way to remove those sounds in a remix?

Well if he’s really trying to belittle the fans for getting excited about new music, then he’s a total clown.

^That doesn’t seem to be commenting on the leaks, at least not directly.

Nice. Looks like I need to go back to the "Derek Zoolander Center For Children Who Can't Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too."

Pretty sure The General was written and recorded by then, as well.

My understanding is that the original leak of irs is from the Trunk radio show via the Mike Piazza disk.
