HOB 2001 was a far better performance than Rock In Rio. And on top of it, it's the first GN'R show since 1993, not the second.

I do agree about the following year,  though. I've always been intrigued with these shows.

I was asking a guy on the Discord chat about those shows. He was at both and had been to 50+ Guns shows. He said neither were anything special and wouldn’t make his top 10. Shame as I was always intrigued by them as nothing has ever come out from those shows.

Hi guys, I know this is an old thread and nobody will care, but just for archival purposes, I was in front of the stage on the right side, near Slash's talkbox, around the 5th-8th row of people and want to explain the rant.

It was not a Rant. It was a "Stop" because people were getting VERY hurt in front and a bunch of "stereotypical metalheads" with greasy hair who have never had a shower in their life started getting aggressive. The audience was pushing.

I talked to Richard the next day and he acknowledged the wild audience, but said it was a high-energy show and definitely a great one. Talking to Richard made it so much better.

I truly, honestly, being in the middle of the worst part of the audience, let go and though that I was about to die there. Axl stopped the show and then threatened to stop it again and the audience chilled out a little bit, though I was pushed back to around the 15th row by force.

There were a few aggressive guys there and Axl must've noticed. The people in front were getting squished horribly.

I am thankful that Axl stopped the show. People were getting badly hurt. My chest hurt for a week because I was pushed and squeezed so hard by people trying to get closer to the stage.

I'd been waiting at the venue since 10 A.M. to get where I was.

What a show. I was to the left of melee with the two fellas ready for a scrap. I can second the "I'm going to die" claims with the force of the crowd. I managed to keep my spot though, I just dug the old elbow's into the sides of anyone trying to surge past. Great fucking show. I had a horrific experience travelling mind you, but the show made up for it.

its not Finck imo. Its Brian May playing like Slash in the first solo and playing as Brian May in the outro. Most probably May was thinking to himself: How would Slash play it?

its probably the only song where Axls clean voice is not annoying for the listener.

The solo is definitely all Brian. I assume the rest is Finck and Tobias.
