but not enough of the Gn'R fanbase seems to have warmed up to that lineup imo, which I love. I think a Gn'R without Slash was never going to be accepted and that lineup never had a chance to really take off under the Gn'R name. Slash was too much of an integral part maybe, but Axl cherry picked the best of the best to create something special imo.

They could have done similar to Fleetwood Mac and totally reinvented themselves had they released music and pulled more fans on board. It may have been hard to win over the majority of their own fanbase, but had they had a couple of hits at the turn of the millennium then who knows where it may have taken them? Exposure to new ears and a new following. The talent and material was there, but for whatever reason, the timeline wasn't right.

This is great. Thank you for this. I have a ton of these. There is a flex fit black hat with the red star and a strap back with yellow letters and red star from that era that I have too.

No problem! The other shirts that are missing off the top of my head are the other variations of some of them. There was also a hoodie sold too

Maybe my memory is distorted (getting old u know..) But they still had some sort of star logo and chinese era graphics up until 2010-11 right?

They were few and far between but there was a couple in amongst utter dross - they were back in full swing with the skulls/old imagery by that point

And on a side note, was Going Down "sold back" to Tommy? Is it gone forever? I mean... depending on the credits and all, couldn't it be just given to Duff and re-recorded by the band?

Tommy said he was going to see about getting it back - Duff would ruin a great song if he went anywhere near it. If anything, Axl should have recorded leads as it would have showcased his range perfectly. Release it as a B side to a single should an album ever appear with Tam on vocals. Axl's backing vocals are fucking obscene. Some of the best he's ever recorded IMO.

  5. All of these legacy acts are releasing albums that they created relatively recent prior to the release. The one positive of Axl not putting out music is that he is sat on a load of material from what is arguably his creative pomp where he was attempting to reinvent himself and had a point to prove, and the Village Leaks only solidified my belief that there is more than enough material for another great Guns N’ Roses album.
