Release hardschool as single with live footage from previous 4 years as the music video. I would think that Would be relitivly easy, and cost effective. And have CD & Better w/Slash and duff intros as the b-sides. That way your not sacrificing any songs off future album.

Naa, I'd scrap reworking already released songs and maybe throw in a few covers as B sides.

Wichita Lineman and The Seeker etc

Oh you didn't see the leaked SCOM video from the show then. You think the Miami Super Bowl one was bad, wait until you see this.

I have, but Sweet Child has never been the best live in my opinion, and what we seen from the Troubadour is no different to how Axl has tackled the song for the last 19 years.

Everything after the live renditions from '86 and '87, I'm not keen on. The rerecorded vocals on the Live Era version though are a different ball game all together. Better than his vocal efforts on Appetite.

IMO Brian’s performance on the Back in Black album was in a league of its own, not even prime Axl could match the pure energy and menace in that man’s voice. I mean listen to the notes he hits on songs like shoot to thrill and shake a leg. Just otherworldly

Back In Black is one of the finest vocal performances ever recorded. Jonner's chanting throughout is 10/10 and he was very much on top of his game from 1980-83.

In my opinion though, ginger bollocks is superior. I'd see Axl as the greatest of all time if it weren't for the lack of music he has released.

There is sth i don't get about the whole locker story. Why did he only sell the Village Sessions?

The first buyer received more items, DAT tapes etc which are presumably from the Appetite sessions and whatever else.

I'm guessing that he may have priced himself out of whatever other contents he had if he demanded too much. When the chat of all of this potentially getting out happened, we were led to believe AFD99 was included in this bundle. Who know's what he's still in possession of, but I'd bet there are a lot more gems in there.

  5. I've mentioned somewhere in this thread that I think Guns should do a double album to beef up the back catalogue. Obviously at this point, I'd take anything if possible but, with the anniversary of UYI nearing closer, why not follow the exact same concept and release two standalone albums and tour those for 2-3 years? The market is obviously a lot different to what it was back then, but has anyone done that with such publicity since? It would certainly get people talking.

I'm also beginning to wonder if the reason we've heard nothing in regards to the tour being postponed is due to them advertising that 2020 was going to be GNR's year. Who knows at this point? I hope they have something in the pipeline.

That's kind of a silly reason to not go for the show. It's not like they said Axl was going to be their permanent singer, wasn't it implied that this was a temporary situation?

No one knew what happened. The only info that came out was that Brian got a chap at the door and found that they’d put all his tour gear on his drive. It was a strange period but the Young’s have history of being ruthless if rumors are to be believed.

  7. I haven't had the chance to fully appreciate the better quality of the demos of the songs that made Chinese until fairly recently. When Catcher first leaked, it was my favourite song. I played it to death and finding out that Brian May played lead was also another big draw (I'm a massive Queen fan). The demo on the Village Sessions is just a lot clearer and smoother on the ears than the leak we got back in 2006, but truly highlights just what a great song it is. Axl Rose at his best as a songwriter and as a vocalist. The structure of the demo is vastly superior to the album version in my opinion. I've said that Atlas has one of the best intros Guns has ever produced, Catcher is definitely the same for the outro and it's a sin that Bumble's playing all over the top of Axl at the start of it - I think Brian comes in at "You were the instrument"

It just works fucking beautifully. Great song and I wish the album version had the same charm as the demo. I know not all agree with me and there are many who prefer Bumble's solo, even Axl himself, but all in I feel the demo is vastly superior.

I also love having the luxury of these sessions.
