Really want to hear a finished version of Nothing.  Love Axl's vocal melody and the way he's singing in his natural voice.  The song sounds like the love child of Patience/D'yer Mak'er/Rod Stewart.  Some improvements would be the addition of guitars and real drums.

I've been playing that a lot the past week or two. Love his voice on it.

Sad news. He did seem frail to me, as well.

As someones who has been sidelined by health issues before, I can say that there is a social toll taken by being in bed for a while. The Drs say you're all better, but you aren't as smooth or present in social interactions and maybe your word recall is diminished for a while. Its about regaining ones sense of self and dusting the cobwebs off of the brain. Its about regaining ones bearings as much as it is about the body healing, sometimes.

Hopefully Ozzy is just still in the stage where he's 'reentering the world' and will be more lucid going forwards.

*more lucid in the sense of Ozzy Osborne, which is its own unique thing.

Hope you're back winning now mate.

  3. As much as he seems whacked out in the majority of interviews I've seen him in, he's never sounded as feeble/winded as he does here.

If it's a mild case, hopefully doesn't rob him of his joy of music and performing to his audience, but seems as if he's a long way from getting himself back to a level where he can do that.

I will never understand how his appearance could change from the one in the video to the one in your avatar in only 5-6 years. It's been debated many times - and who tf cares - but it always piques my curiosity because of the short time span

I used to think the biggest change was from December 2001 to 2002. Watching that HOB show he still looks like Axl, just clean shaven and darker hair.

You really think hes voice is great at that show? It's terrible if you compare to how he sound on the duet with Springsteen in my opinion.

I think Chinese Democracy showcases Axl at the very top of his game, so it's only natural that I'd be a big fan of his voice here. I hate GNR's version of Live and Let Die, but that version from the House of Blues blows everything else, including McCartney's, out of the water IMO.

  5. He had a hard few years ahead of him by that point with the things that collapsed around him. He reappeared with a chip on his shoulder and seemed to be motivated to showcase his talent by releasing several albums with that incarnation of Guns N' Roses.

It didn't happen, but even the fact that he was able to overcome the obstacles that came his way around that time to get to the point of being able to perform in a live setting again is incredible. Fair fucks to him.

01/01/01 is one of the best shows vocally he ever did and is night and day in comparison with those duets with Springsteen.

In listening to Panic at the Disco right now because my son wants to.

I worked in my mates bar a while back and one of the fellas he had working used to host open mic nights on quieter evenings. For the most part, it'd still be dead, so it'd end up me and him just jamming. He was a sound enough fella, around 18/19, but was always of the belief his opinion was factual. Told me the singer from Panic was vastly superior to Freddie Mercury (I'm a massive Queen fan, he didn't know this at the time) and to prove this, showed me a cover of Bohemian Rhapsody they did. Absolute dug shite and he was absolutely flabbergasted at the lengths I was going on telling him so. Long winded I know, and I've derailed the thread, but that is my experience with Panic at the Disco

In that fellas defence, he dug some of the stuff from Chinese that I used to play when we were closing up and was surprised when I told him it was Guns N' Roses.

    Still listening to these fellas:

After the Gold Rush, classic.  I once did an acoustic version of that at a gig and screwed it up royally,  most embarrassed I've ever been onstage.  The song was a bit too high so I had to transpose the chords to a lower key.  About halfway through I lost concentration and reverted to playing the original chord progression, disaster.   I think I went directly into KOHD. 😊

Young has a ridiculously high voice, which rules me out of ever chanting his songs unfortunately ha!

I was playing his Live at the Cellar Door record earlier, fantastic version of After the Gold Rush on there!

That's one of the greatest love songs ever written.

    100%
Had it on in work so I can’t get on YouTube, but this is my go to version. If you haven’t seen this concert yet, I recommend it! It’s up on YouTube, plus BBC posted most of the songs.

Spaghetti Incident should get more attention live IMO. I'm not talking about adding more covers to their sets, but rather switch out some NITL covers with songs like Down On The Farm, Ain't It Fun and Human Being.

Edit: Human Being might not fit Axl's voice too well these days, but the other two should be very OK. Maybe even bring in Duff on the chorus of Ain't It Fun, idk..

    100%

Down on the Farm is one of Axl's best vocal performances. Tremendous.

thinking about going to this show, though I saw somewhere it's also with golden circle but can't find those tickets on ticketmaster

Since I come from holland it would cost me around 300 euro's for flights, accommodation and ticket but if it means I can't even get in front then I'll probably won't go.

Anybody can confirm it's with golden circle again?

It's Golden Circle mate. I don't know if you can still purchase Golden Circle tickets from Ticketmaster, but if you plan your trip, you'll definitely pick up tickets closer to the date either through ticketmaster's resale site or on social media etc. People always panic sell nearer the time, so you may pick yourself up a bargain.
