    • Slash, Fortus and Duff starting a new band with another singer (even though I like Myles, hopefully somebody else with a more raw sound).

Velvet Revolver 2.0? I can't see that happening. I could see Duff and Slash doing another band again but I doubt they would take anyone from nuguns. But, it could happen as Fortus and Slash seem to mesh well.

Guns N' Roses is the "safest" and most financially successful band to maintain for the three classic lineup members that are there now.  Even if Axl sound half as good as he does now in ten years, I still think they would do better as a band than fracturing again. Remember how in 2011 a lot of us thought Axl didn't sound great? Well, he probably sounds half as good now as he did then. Regardless, I would still pay to see them if they come back to my state.

I do hope they let Fortus shine more on future studio material. On the more Bucket heavy stuff, if they have to re-rerecord his parts, have Fortus do it. He's capable.

Listening to The General again, and man I hate how abruptly it just ends. I think a rolling guitar solo similar to TWAT could have really saved it. It feels so incomplete. Which is hilarious given the 20+ years Axl had to flesh it out.

It is possible such a version exists. Maybe the Bucket and/or Robin version was longer, like with Robin’s guitars on Hardschool. The long drum and guitar intro to HS was nice. Then it was replaced with the Duff bass and school bell. Such cringe. I can barely listen to the official version now.

After the official release of The General, and presuming the Monsters leak is going to be the final version or close to it, it’s possible the vocal take we heard on the State Of Grace leak will be final.

Apparently Mando season 4 might get turned into a movie that proceeds the “bigger” Thrawn movie, and that both movies might now release before the Rey one. This rumor was already going around a few months ago, but now other scoopers are saying it’s probably legit.

I have a feeling this bigger Thrawn movie will be more like what fans wanted or even expected of the sequel trilogy, especially if they borrow from more EU material.

I've heard people talking about the frog noises on The General ever since the song came out. I've listened to the song so many times and never once heard them. I thought about asking on here where exactly they are, but decided not to and chalked it up to people being delusional. Today, on the way home from grabbing a pizza, I naturally heard the frog noises for the first time ever and am legitimately hyped. 🤣

I grew up near a swamp, so I'm very familiar :P

I don't believe anything from that era with them on will ever be released under any circumstances unless it's a tiny clip on a song like the Perhaps thing. Only way I could ever see a full song happening would be if Slash left and Fink or Bucket came back. I would be stunned if there was a CD anniversary release, although would obviously be happy if there was.

I could see it going either way. Of course, I'm hoping for an official release. I believe even Fernando knows they could have a digital only, or better yet, a fancy Chinese Democracy flash drive full of the CD-era stuff (sort of like what they did with the AFD anniversary release) and sell it for a few hundred dollars on the Guns site exclusively and make bank. It would be even cooler if they made it a multi-CD set with the alt artwork, some reading material, photos, etc. That deluxe box would be great. I'd buy three! One for me to open and play with, one to keep sealed, and the other for my dad.

The above fantasy probably wouldn't occur until after the squeezing out as many CD leftovers with NITL shitting over them is over. So probably not before 2028 anyway since that's the 20th anniversary.

It would also provide an opportunity to release some of the CD bonus and remix material.

I mean I would like to hear them but I'm not so disillusioned to think that the band is going to officially release them. That period is over. Slash is back in the band and as long as he is there anything official that the band releases is going to involve him and Duff. Not Bucket and Robin.

I could see them being released as bonus content or as part of some CD anniversary release. We got a few seconds of Robin on Perhaps, and I can hear a little Bucket on Absurd as well. Not sure on Hard Skool. If Guns actually drops a full record, it wouldn't surprise me if a song or two is left alone from that era.

Casuals wouldn't know. Imagine if they released an EP with NITL Perhaps, Absurd, Hard Skool, and The General along with 2008 Better, This I Love, The Blues and TWAT. Aside from the better production of the 2008 songs, no casual is going to know who played on that.

Are people ever going to get over this shit?  Buckethead hasn't been in the band for 20 years and literally nothing will ever come from nuGuns again if it isn't leaked by anybody.  It's time to move on already

    Predicting the future are we?

Honestly it sounds more finished to me than Scraped does on the actual CD album lol.  The guitar work doesn't sound sloppy to me on Monsters, and the drum machines in the verses seem more of an artistic decision (Prostitute for example) rather than placeholder drums

At least Scraped can be understood lyrically upon the first listen. It's crisp, and produced well IMO. Maybe just needs the bass turned up like the rest of the 2008 album, but aside from that, great production. The General sounds like an unmixed mess.

  8. I wonder how many more songs they recorded over. We know at least one (Monsters), and most of us assume Atlas as well. There's probably at least 6 songs total, including Hard Stool, Absurd, Perhaps and The General. I bet they did at least 2 others as well. (Oh My God, Berlin/Oklahoma, Zodiac, Seven, etc.) If we are lucky, NITL won't touch some of these songs and we will get to hear them with Buckethead and/or Robin Finck. :)

  9. I'm not even sure if I would expect any of these officially released half-baked Chinese leftovers to make it onto the next album. I could see stuff not officially released being paired up with actual new material, but who knows. I doubt they are going to scrap what they haven't touched up with NITL. Stuff like Zodiac 13, Quick Song, Atlas, etc. though decades old, is too good to leave unreleased forever.

Saw Axl/DC in London and one of the best shows I've ever been to. There were some hardcore AC/DC fans near me at the front who were not overly impressed about Axl fronting the band before the show started. However a couple of songs in they were on board with the performance saying how great he sounded. Made me feel proud.

Axl certainly seemed to enjoy his time and having the chance to perform different material, especially the Bon era tracks.

Would love to see it again and do wonder how he would sound 8 years on.

I do remember a lot of casual and even hardcore AC/DC fans not being too fond initially, but Axl did it, he more than pulled it off, he fucking killed it. I saw him with Guns in 2016 and AC/DC, and he sounded decent with Guns, but with AC/DC, it was like 2006 Axl.

we need a new leak. quick.

We are due for another few years or so. And when we get more leaks, I hope it's stuff with Buckethead and/or Robin, unlike last time. But, I'll take anything!

Axl fronting acdc was probably the best gig I've seen him perform & I've seen Guns 16 times now, should he have done it ....does a bear shit in the woods ?

God yes, the only Down side was no tour cd dvd, but guns haven't given us this either

I'd pay good money for an official Axl/DC Blu-ray of any or mixed 2016 performances. The footage has to exist.

Interesting if it was in the early 90's. It would probably mean that at least the lyrics to Silkworms/Absurd go way back.

I'd love to hear a studio mix of Silkworms with vocals from the performances in the early '00s. I would imagine they were recorded, unless Axl was referring to the chorus of only the live performances. This version, with Buvkethead on lead, would probably be the best version of the song, especially if they dropped that long intro in that mix as well, which they probably did as it sounds like Bucket's killswitch. So, a 2003-2005 mix, give or take a year or so.

And theres a reason the US is crime ridden and full of shootings every day. Psst the guns havent helped you.

Wonderfully diverse cities ruled by the two parties aside, the gun violence isn't so bad (practically non-existent) in nice rural areas, where gun ownership is high. But in cities, yes, you hear shootings all the time, hence why I don't go there. It's a people problem, probably lack of father figures for a certain demographic, which is more than supported by official stats, like it or not.

They do help a lot of people every year, especially the police who have to deal with most of it. I live in an area where it's unlikely I'll need one for defense. I'm more of a collector anyways of weapons of war, every one I acquire is one less in the streets. Doing God's work. :P

Axl Rose himself is a woke bitch.

He more or less is an example of why we have an electoral college, based on his Jimmy Kimmel interview where he basically admitted to voting based on how his area swings.

They all thought it was cool. It was just a small group of folks, and everybody happens to like GNR already. Not like us nerds, but enough where this crowd is receptive of not just old Guns but Chinese too, cause I always play it.

The reason I decided to play “Monsters” is because one of my friends was telling another friend that GNR would be higher on his list of favorite bands if not for their small catalog relative to his top two (Metallica, Machine Head). So I brought up unreleased songs and I was like, “They’re sitting on a great tune right now and just won’t goddamn release it.”

Another friend who was there loves Black Sabbath/Ozzy, and he was into the verses. Agreed with me they’re Ozzy-esque. No joke, I made everyone shut the fuck up right before the bridge (“attention everyone, may I have your attention”), and I did an air guitar motion when Slash does the little lick, then I turned it up even higher while Axl went into demon mode. One of my friends was super into it, lowkey headbanging.

We were all under the influence of the devil’s juice and other party favors too. Once “Monsters” ended, the playlist reverted right back to techno.

This group of friends in general has an eclectic mix of music and likes most genres (except for the Metallica, Machine Head guy, who’s purely metal and ‘90s hip hop).

Sounds like a good time! Thanks for sharing the music with them. Wish I had more friends like that.

I'm guessing they'll try to milk this CD for a while. An 'EP' with live tracks next year, maybe as the 'Nightrain exclusive gift'... Hardschool had multiple versions, I don't see why they wouldn't do the same with Perhaps :shrugs:

I'm not gonna play a 4~ song CD very often, but I'd like some good live versions of Perhaps, TWAT, Anything Goes, etc to throw in a live playlist.

I can’t help it, I’d buy any media this band releases if it has new stuff on it. My guess is Atlas and Monsters are next.
