We already have this with Monster's outro solo, with Richard taking the lead after Slash.
Is that really Richard there, or are you referring to the outro solo on The General?

Because they already have a lead guitarist, his name is Slash
That doesn’t mean Richard can’t take over on parts more suited for his level of playing, like they do live. Didn’t Izzy also play lead?

Wouldn't mind hearing Pitman's stories either really!
Apparently Paul Tobias would love to share too, but he said he isn't able to, which I assume to be a legal block of some kind.

I really wish Guns would feature Fortus more on studio material. He gets to play lead a fair bit during the tour. Why not have him play lead and a solo or two on the next album? Maybe he's already on a song or two we have not heard yet. I feel he's under utilized. He's the best current member to re-record the Bucket stuff, assuming they wan't to re-record that material.

BBF is like the original internet guitar troll turned famous touring musician. Great dude in person too, just very emotional online.
I have met him in real life, and he was kind. He did seem to interact with the fans well.

It was on one of the forums. He was somewhat active back then. Can't remember if it was here or the old CD dot com forum.
He said something like: "It's on the tip of my cock, so check the back of your throat."

Years ago, I asked Bumblefoot about the prized version of Shackler's Revenge with Buckethead's solo.
His answer was not appropriate, my question certainly struck a nerve.

True. But the context of Slash adding his parts is very different to Robin working everyday with a hungry new band of young talented people wanting to put their stamp on Guns back in 98.
Slash probably added his parts one afternoon after being sent an MP3 of the old versions and bashed out a few licks. Whereas Robin and Bucket were in the studio for years reworking every minute detail and Axl was still invested.
That I very much believe, makes sense too. So now, gotta get those reference MP3s they were sent.

If Trump is re-elected you can expect this country to die.
It won't, trust me. It survived with Biden. (Not that I like Trump)
But, it is pretty damn sad if the best the democrats have is Biden, and I can say the same thing to the republicans about Trump.
Neither party truly supports what is important to me, so I don't really care either way.
None of the above will matter when I'm president! My first act, of course, will be obtaining all of the Chinese Democracy material with Robin and Bucket's parts present.

Axl felt for 20 years that it was trash. Now with Slash‘s input he was happy enough to release it
I'm sure that's it.

TG would be a a poor opener or closer for anything imo. Monsters would be cool as either
I feel if they ever release CD2 (or similar), The General leading into Monsters as the last track would be a great closer.
Zodiac 13 would be a nice opener, with that piano intro. The 2000 mix of Hardschool also would have been a nice album opener with the long guitar and drum intro. Now, it's trash so maybe they will leave it off an eventual album.

I just listened to CD and played with these new tracks right after, it's like day and night. Even with the extra busy nature of CD with the million layers of guitars, keyboards and orchestration it still sounds crisper and warmer at the same time which is a testament to how shit the production is on these new tracks.
When the reunion happened, I assumed worst case was Slash would re-record some of the guitar leads. After getting a handful of singles, it is apparent that not only do we have to worry about Slash's playing over nearly entire superior/better fitting original parts by Robin and Bucket, to add insult to injury, we have to deal with awful production too. It wouldn't be so bad if they kept up the nice production of the CD material (over produced, yes but at least they sound crisp as you said) with Slash and Duff added to the mix.
The only difference between the re-worked NITL touched CD stuff and the 2008 album that I like is they cranked the bass guitar up in the mix. (Probably because it's Duff, he's back, in case you don't know!)

Someone really needs to read a book 😂
Well I can’t read! So someone needs to read one to me. My mom has been typing my posts here. She’s happy I have friends here.
I went to Marne Elementary. It doesn’t exist anymore. Marne used to be named Berlin, but changed the name during The Great War. Maybe Berlin (Oklahoma) is about that? Marne is best known for Berlin Raceway. Perhaps Axl has been there for a race or two.

Or maybe nothing happens except that a few mediocre 20+ year old songs get released over the next two years
This is most likely, unfortunately.
I would very much like CD2 to leak, as it existed prior to the NITL lineup. Then, who cares what they release.

That's an option for sure, but I really feel curious because in the way they described the lyrics, It was like a concrete situation on Axl's court for a problem with Erin Everly and also the bombing suffered on Oklahoma I don't get how could have all this changed to something related to Berlin.
I feel that there were some words misunderstood a long time ago about this song and maybe we are very far away from the truth just like with The General
It very well probably sound different than anyone here can imagine, like The General as you said.
I love the 2000 Oklahoma instrumental. I hope we eventually get to hear a CD era version with vocals. Same with Zodiac.

I don't know how could have evolved from being Oklahoma and being related with It to Berlin
We know Oklahoma came from the bombing they suffered in the mid '90s. I always took the new title of Berlin to be related to either the German's last stand in Berlin in 1945, or the wall coming down in the early '90s. So I think the song has heavy subject matter, that could be related to war/terrorism, etc.

I think the CD era is over, there is no word on reworking more songs, now is talking about new songs and preNuGnr Era material
I realize Fortus said something to that effect, but we know Monsters is around the corner seeing how Slash and Duff worked on it, and likely Atlas as well.
There's still Oklahoma/Berlin, Seven, Thyme/P.R.L, Oh My God, Nothing, Eye On You, Tonto, Monstrocity, etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if a few or more of these songs end up on an eventual album, regardless of where the band says the songs come from. Recall when the official Guns site said Perhaps was a 2023 recording? I think they have that ready for future material that's actually old.

You know what would be cool? Getting the instrumentals Marco Beltrami was supplied with. Thyme, Leave Me Alone (presumably Monsters), The General, and Seven. They all likely have Robin and Bucket on them. Getting those 4 instrumentals after his work was added would be even cooler.
He's a professional, and assuming he still has copies of the work, which is probable, I highly doubt he would put his career on the line by sharing/selling/leaking such material.

Oklahoma was bought in pretty much fully written at the start of 1998 according to Dave Dominguez who was one of the first engineers when CD sessions started. Suggests to me that a version probably exists with Duff on it.
I wonder if/when Oklahoma got vocals. The leaked instrumental was from 2000, and I believe the Rolling Stone said they heard an instrumental of it in 1999. So later in 2000 or 2001+ is when it most likely got vocals.
Zodiac 13 is the mystery, as one of the versions from the Village leaks (from 2000) was labeled as no vox (or something similar) but the 2001 mix (which I don't like as much as the 2000 mix, piano intro too quiet and Robin's beginning of the solo is not there).

When I first heard The General the last bits of lead guitar sounded a lot like Bucket. I assume that is Richard. I wish we had notes for these songs like we do on CD so know for sure who plays what, who is on drums on Hard Skool, etc. And who mastered what.
