Every single song he worked on sounds more like classic Guns now than before. That’s a fact. Whether you prefer one style over the other is another question. For me, as someone who prefers the classic era over the CD era, it’s an easy choice. I think Slash improved every single song with his playing.

Slash's Perhaps solo, except for the end, seemed to be in the wrong tone for the song. Maybe it just sounds that way because I'm used to Robin's solo, at least they kept two seconds of it. :P

  2. I liked Axl on Sebastian Bach’s Angel Down from 2007. He’s on three tracks, including a cover of Back In The Saddle. Stuck Inside has some great Axl moments. Love Is A Bitchslap is probably the weakest of the three Axl tracks on that album. The album itself is worth a listen. I own a copy on compact disc digital audio.

Why would you imagine it to be better? Sounds like personal bias. Why would anyone intentionally choose to release a ‘worse’ version of any song?

Even back in the CD-era, I preferred Bucket's playing to Bumblefoot. I feel the Bucket and Robin mixes of songs we have NITL lineup versions of are better overall because their playing and parts fit the songs better because they wrote the songs and were part of the initial creative process of them, and that makes sense because Slash is adding guitars to 20 year old songs. It's probably not even possible to get them to sound right. And the poor production doesn't make it any better. So far, I think Slash's best work is on Absurd. His solos seem to elevate that song from the leak with Bumblefoot and likely Bucket as well.

I wonder if they filmed any parts of the 01-02 tour. Some combination of that, the 2006 footage and Forever Together (SA 2010) would be great. Of course any studio footage would be great, but I doubt there's much of that...

I'm sure they have plenty of concert footage and backstage footage from that time. Would be nice if they empty the vault! I'm sure it will happen eventually. That, in addition to an Axl/DC Blu-ray would be amazing.

  5. A behind the scenes documentary of the making of Chinese Democracy spanning the different lineups of that era would be amazing, especially if bundled with various different versions of the albums, CD2 and CD3 songs, etc.

I don't think it would sell very well, but the hard cores would appreciate it for sure. They would need to release it after they are done with the slow drip of singles, for obvious reasons.

I don't understand the argument for wanting old material with those that haven't been in a band for 10+ years on a album put out by the band we know now...

Not that it shouldn't be heard in different scenarios or as "vault" releases....but it really needs to not be used in the album format as a Duff, Slash and Axl led project....they aren't gonna give there all to songs made by others and not from the ground up created as a current group. Singles and Ep's like we've kinda had, ok....that's ok...but...

New album,  basically has to be 100% fresh, to be any kind of a success. End of discussion....

I understand your point, but let’s say if the next album was 12-14 songs, it could easily contain a mix of new songs, reworked CD songs, and unchanged CD songs. If it’s mixed and mastered properly, most casual fans are never going to know Robin played on X, Slash on Y, Bucket on Z, etc. Plus it would make things easier and cheaper to not have to record more and remix. I’m not saying the above is likely to happen, but it could. I don’t think the more than half of CD2 that hasn’t been officially released will be abandoned. The real question is what form is will take. Hopefully, we get the original mixes with the older lineups as some sort of bonus or anniversary release if they are not just put out as is.

IF gnr are releasing an album at this point, it has to be material we haven't heard, it would ideally break away from the 97-08 sessions and be current gnr centred (no credits for bucket, robin, Paul, Tommy, Chris etc. just the current members) with maybe 2 songs from the previous era which would be seriously reworked and rearranged, stripped down entirely and completely re-recorded.

    No! :(

Silkworms had been re-structured into Absurd by 2006, the demo with Bumblefoot leaked around the same time as OMG and Going Down. I'd guess Perhaps was close to the Village demo but Hardschool was probably closer to the NITL single around that time.

If Atlas was extended and enhanced like TWAT it might be salvageable, but I think we've already heard the best version of it...

I'd love it if a studio Silkworms exists with Buckethead and the full vocals we heard for the first live performances exists.

Identifying as forum-fluid sounds like a modern zoomer thing.

But joking aside, makes sense. Especially if the place isn't too busy. We can change it back when a new Village-sized leak happens.

That is what I was thinking as well. :P I would need someone to explain what it means to me so I don't get into big trouble with the wrong words about people who are different.

she really must have solid evidence against him. I know the case of a girl who sued a guy for sexual harassment, but her evidence was the hearts he sent her in text messages. also, if there are no recordings, videos or witnesses, there is no chance she could win.

A girl at my work "hearts" my work-related messages to her in our inter-office chat application. (As opposed to a thumbs up or whatever) I find it a little odd, but I wonder if that would be considered unprofessional? (Obviously probably not any form of harassment)

Others have done it to me before, but it's usually her. It doesn't bother me at all, but I myself would be careful doing it to others. She happens to be attractive, but it wouldn't bother me regardless.

Alcohol muddies the waters. It's just not a good idea to have sex when drunk, because the other party could say,"I was drunk out of my mind and didn't FULLY consent to sex."

I agree. It is difficult to assess, however. How many drinks is too many, etc. But when in doubt, don't do it! Gotta save room for Jesus. :) Sex is supposed to be a gift of God between married couples anyways.

    what on earth is this

Not sure. I was accused once. We didn't even do anything outside of making out, and later I had found out she would make such accusations against other men too who she actually had been with sexually. I think she had some issues to say the least. I don't even like thinking about it. What sucks, is even if the accused are innocent, friends/acquaintances/family, etc. will think and act different around you. It's a shitty thing to do to someone. Of course, every situation is different and it's not always black and white. In the situation I was in, even her best friend didn't believe her, and some people had defended me who I didn't expect to, and I'll never forget that. These types of situations reveal who your real friends are.

I recall a story years ago where a man and woman had a one-night stand. Both were under the influence of alcohol. This occurrence is not unusual. Both parted ways in the morning, the guy left his name and number behind because he apparently wanted to see the woman again, or perhaps wanted to go out with her again on a date, maybe a relationship, etc. and she felt she was violated that night after some time had gone by. I believe he was arrested and charged. I don't recall all the details, but this is an example of how complex such cases can be, where the accused had no malicious intent, and thought the accuser had consented, even if they are under the influence of alcohol. There's an argument one cannot consent while under the influence of alcohol or other substances, but how does one handle this? Breathalyze someone right before doing the deed? I suppose "common sense" applies, but again, every situation is different.

I really assumed you would have put bucket or robin in there as guests.

    Ashba and Paul though LoL

That would be great, but I was thinking since Sebastian and DJ live in Vegas (as far as I know) it would be convenient for them to appear. Not sure about Paul though, that was more of a joke. :P

Really, the only songs that make sense are from Appetite and Lies. Add Don't Cry and there's your setlist.

Again, with his vocals being the way they are I would have no interest in an AFD5 reunion anyhow.

    Don't forget Civil War!
