  1. Yes and no. I mean, the orchestral intro played before the concerts included bits that we now know belonged to two different songs, as some can be found in The General and others in Monsters. For all we knew then, the intro seemed to be sourced from the same song, and the band itself confirmed that the most used pre-show intro was The General, so our ""confusion"" was certainly legit. How were we supposed to know that the intro was using bits composed by Beltrami for two different songs? But yes, if The General was released alone, without Monsters, it would have been so surprising not hearing the most famous orchestral part, the one from the phone leak/Evader's reconstruction. That said, I don't think Axl decided to pair them because the fanbase thought Monsters was The General. It's more a case of what Bach said: this song is supposed to go lyrically with this other, etc. The songs came out of the same songwriting sessions, they share a certain common ground musically and Axl might have purposely written the lyrics of one in consequence of the other, with the intention of having them back to back as a "mini-opera" or something like that. EDIT: I just wanted to add that it would be very interesting to know if @Mindray11 remembers anything about the "real" The General, as @Blackstar asked a few posts earlier. Perhaps they were played back to back that night as well.
  2. Not sure, because I didn't get a shipping confirmation email either. I got one when Hardskool was shipped last year. I guess that, if I didn't know what was going on, I would have just written an email to the UK store asking for info.
  3. I ordered from the UK store and never got any email to announce the delay. Checked my spam folder and everything, just nothing.
  4. Exactly. Especially because: It would really make not much sense that Monsters is Seven and not Leave Me Alone/Soul Monster.
  5. I can't add more reactions for today so I can't like your post, but thank you for contacting Beltrami and sharing the info!
  6. Hey. What happened to your old account? (Assuming that you are shacklermyrye)
  7. Ah, thank you, I see. I completely missed out on that. What the context would be? Someone who claimed to have met Richard after a show?
  8. Eh? What? When? Never heard any of this before.
  9. I think Tommy bought the rights back or at least he said he would like to. The fact that Going Down and Ten Percenter (ie Tommy Demo #1 from the leaks) recently showed up on copyright websites (can't remember which ones, @Blackstar knows for sure and she can add here) might be an indication that he found an agreement to get those songs back and use them for his projects.
  10. Why? The song was fully fleshed out in 2000 and basically just missing a vocal track. If Axl has recorded vocals completely unheard before like The General / Monsters, it's possible that he also laid vocal tracks for other songs that were basically complete as far as the music went (Oklahoma could be another one, for example).
  11. Dummy. I really wish for a finished version of Dummy, my fave instrumental from the Village leaks. There were rumors about it being Cuban Skies, no idea based on what (perhaps the guy on the Steve Hoffman forum mentioning Cuban Skies having an acoustic intro?). Whatever, I just wish for a finished version of that. A completed Me & My Elvis would be amazing too.
  12. Wow. I'm really really loving Monsters. It has a sort of David Bowie feel and we can see Evader really nailed multiple bits of it. Amazing job I'm a bit underwhelmed by The General, but going to listen soon again. The songs sound like they are really supposed to come one after the other, like a ""mini-suite"" (for lack of a better word). Now the question is: is the 7" going to include just The General or will they squeeze in Monsters too?
  13. But, as mentioned in that thread, "If" appeared on a setlist apparently (but I don't remember), so who knows.
  14. That back cover started to float around in 2007 and it always intrigued me because, while it was generally thought to be fake, when the actual album came out we saw the choice of colors and fonts was quite close to the genuine artwork. Could totally be a coincidence, of course. I talked about that cover in this thread from many years ago, but the imageshack link to that image is obviously dead: That said, I'm 100% sure that the back cover from 2007 didn't include Perhaps. If The World was listed just as "If", that I remember for sure. Regarding whether or not that tracklist screenshot was shared (including Perhaps) before 2019, I honestly don't remember.
  15. @D4NNY Of course I believe you, no need to post the screen. My point is that many people got results even with Soul Monster or Oklahoma or other titles, but this never happened when I tried. The only time it worked for me was when Perhaps was released, so maybe there's a common thread with The General starting to show up today on my side. We'll see in a few days I guess. Fingers crossed.
  16. It's fairly safe to assume it's more about a money/royalties agreement between them and Axl rather than for a substantial songwriting contribution.
  17. Again, for what it's worth: during the Spotify-gate I never had ANY GNR-related results to Perhaps or any other songs (I have an Italian Spotify account). This changed on August 7, as you can read in this post: On that day, Perhaps started to return GNR in the "Artists" field on my side. The song was eventually released on August 18. I've been trying to search for The General every now and then. I never got any GNR results, except for a couple of fanmade playlists. Something changed today. Now The General returns GNR in my "Artists" results: This gives me a little bit of hope because the only other time that this happened on my account was, as mentioned, with Perhaps right before its release. We'll see.
